Suggestion: Balance implants

  • Rank 1: Neurocontroller “Armadillo”

Old: Incoming explosion damage received to hull reduced by 30%

New: Incoming explosion damage received to hull and shields reduced by 15%

 

OId: Incoming critical damage received to hull reduced by 20%

New: Incoming critical damage received to hull and shields reduced by 5%

 

Reason: Nerfing hulltank. Also critical damage is no longer so strong since v.0.9.15.

 

  • Rank 3: Neurocontroler “Doctus”

Old: Increase shield regeneration rate by 25%

New: Increase shield regeneration rate by 50%

 

Reason: Buffing shieldtank.

 

  • Rank 5: Alpha inhibitor “SP-25”

Old: Increase maximun speed by 3%

New: Increase acceleration by 25%

 

Reason: There is no acceleration buff implant, and this addition would make the rank 5 implant a more difficult choice.

 

  • Rank 9: Beta accelerator “Cheetah II”

Old: Increase maximun afterburner speed by 7%

New: Increase maximun afterburner speed by 30%

 

Reason: I am tired of “Gigas II”

 

  • Rank 9: Beta accelerator “SR Mark 3”

Old: Increases shield resistance to all types of damage by 10 pts. Shield can now absorb damage from collisions.

New: Increases shield resistance to all types of damage by 20 pts. Shield can now absorb damage from collisions.

 

Reason: I am tired of “Gigas II”

Not a typo. “Gigas II” gives you 27% damage reducction to all sources with 3 enemies locked on, which is too much in my opinion. Also I suggested Rank 9: Beta accelerator “Cheetah II” to not give maximun speed bonus, so they dont stack.

:facepalm:  you would just make any Fighter reach the 500-600 speed barrier, while guards will easily rech 400-500

And we haven’t even started talking about intys. Imagine max speed + strafe + adaptive shields.

I think the idea behind that change is clear: you have to decide Gigas or Cheetah. And there are also many ways to reduce afterburner speed, so I dont see it much of a problem. Consider ir a Tackler buff.

+10% on AB speed is reasonable… The projectiles got 10%, too.

finemw referred his question to my post where i mentioned the R4 Fed, not his own that referred to Jeri one.

Eh, I could understand a slight boost in speed, but yeah…not 30%  Maybe they could have 5% increase on intys, 10% on Fighters, and 15% on frigates.  Thoughts?

 

However, I completely agree with the shield tanking changes, though I think they’re overdone.  Something more subtle would be nice.  Right now, Jericho ships just get pwned by empire.  At least, Shield tanking gets pwned by hull tanking.
