Since the implementation of the requirement of purchasing the preceeding ship from the Ships Tree, pilots that wish to make a purchase currently lack sufficient information on the newer perspective ships.
For example, in the attached image snapshot, if you were looking to make a purchase of a Rank8 Attack Ship, you currently cannot tell the difference between a “Katana AE” versus a “Katana type S” ship.
As a pilot, the difference in the type of munitions allowed for each different ship makes a huge impact on how I play.
Therefore, I suggest that some sort of a “ship’s preview” be implemented into a future patch which provides more information on what the newer perspective ships would carry.
eventhough i’m playing star conflict for a while now, it would be nice to know what specs other craft offer you - optimizing your tactics to destroy them
maybe we could also introduce something like a shoping car: when you decide for one ship you can buy it directly or some of your money rewarded after battles will be spent till the price has been paid (maybe we could include equipment too so you’ll be aware of the sum total)
personally, i favor the idea of a ship having Connection points.
from this we have lists of parts, that we can add to those points. Each ship has a hull amount. For example, ceptors can have 500 hull, attackships 1000, and frigates 2000.
Each part is worth so much hull. You can then connect and build from various racial parts. spawning unique ships, but that are still racial-looking…

You can see all the stats of any ship in the ship tree by moving the mouse over it and pressing shift for detailed view or alt for special skill description. (and in the option menu you can change the default view from brief to detailed)
