You guys do realize that the amount of hype surrounding dreadnoughts is only guaranteed to bring about massive disillusionment, right? Everyone has a fantasy of how they will work, what they can do, the different ways to upgrade them…

And what do we REALLY know? Nothing! For all you know they are simply a ripoff of Star Wars Battlefront space engagements. Heck, you won’t even get to test one out or get a glimpse of their mechanics until ESB has finished building theirs! So calm your religious fervor and stop worshiping this patch. The intel leaves much to be desired.

Just build your shipyard and be happy like everyone else, that at least something is HAPPENING!

If it is as FunkyDonut says then there should be more T5 sectors coming since with 3 sectors you dont make the endgame players happy for sure if it is like Eviscerador says then it is fine as it is.

And when this pipe-dream comes crashing down, then what? It’s this kind of unfounded expectation that preceeded every major loss of players. That’s what I’m getting at. If players don’t temper their expectations they will be dissatisfied when the full details are released, and they will leave.

Is that really what you want?

The devs need to stop with the light and mirror show and just give us the raw details.

We have enough to finish stage one, we are poor bears (if everyone dumped their iridium in the bank we would probably be somewhere between stage 2 + 3 but still poor). I think SCORP will be one of the first to get one

But the prices for the speed boost are insane anyways max 25%=20x building costs 20x65k=1.3M Iridium thats just crazy xD

Paying 1 million iridium for having the dread 1 week before the rest is not worth. Mostly because then you need iridium for fuel, for using it, and most likely for ammo and stuff…

 

If the iridium drop rate is the same as it was with the artifacts… only zerg corps will be able to keep dreads.

And if anyone read the whole notes they would read that even if you finish it faster you wont be able to use it before the rest. We have exactly one month to get them ready, if we need less time due to iridium boosting we will have to wait anyway.

I hope this is a new beginning :wink: Devs just showed they really listened to the comunity collecting ideas… Dreadnoughhts to fight with other corps and capture and hold real sectrors… Could this be really true…?

Most important thing is that, this patch is really upgrading the game to a new level, opening the road for loads and loads of new contents! I hope in the future dreadnoughts could be piloted by corp members :wink: Epic battles are on the way, this game can become pure gold!!!

If you really want your dread first, wait until the final building stage and THEN dump in all your iridium. Every other stage will have a progress cap. And then pray it was worth it…

Sooo… I admit that I just don’t get how that combat mode is supposed to work. Is this going to be open space battles in invasion sectors (requiring dupes to respawn???), which would be pretty cool, or is this going to be like SecCon (T3 SecCon?)?

there are new irridium rewards for pvp contracts, thoso go directly into corp irridium bank, so active pvp corps will have some extra boost to irridium earnings.

Please, can you go already? I believe some of the best players/testers/devs were doing their best to bring dreads functionality to “AWESOME” level. If you want to plant negative feelings towards them, leave the game. You don’t like it anyways.

I was checking the Invasion today. It’s far far too difficult now and much less rewarding. Synergy levels are ok, but other loot? The most I got from mysterious container was 165k (lightcell). Almost all ships are dropping containers worth from 2 to 20k tops (mostly 3-10k). Simple errand to kill scout leader in danger 1 sector took my Octopus over 2 minutes of constant fire. I got 75k credits for that. No more speedy tacklers for escort missions - defending a transport for 4 minutes against 2 Hunters 6 bios respawning every minute + few more on the road? Nope. It was in danger 7 sector. Just 3 tries and half an hour later I got my 3 monocrystals.

 

Colonization hub - danger 1. Some poor soul had hercules rage. It was shredded in 12 seconds after he spawned at the gate.

Just flew a round in open world - I don’t like the changes.
Aliens everywhere and in some systems (escort) mission are impossible to accomplish.

Loot got a massive nerf while ammo and repair costs stayed the same.

Most systems show the same boring mix of opponents.

Low-tier players will find it difficult to survive beyond home systems.

 

The user interface in hangar is … like someone was drunk while developing.

I want the old button and menu back.

I’m happy about the arrival of the dreadnoughts…

but I can’t forgive what you did to open world.

Synergy gain in locations increased x2

Due to the world being expanded with new locations, new rank restrictions and changes in enemy variety, we balanced the amount of trophies. Very expensive trophies are now harder to come by. We also added more stashes across the maps.

 

More details will be revealed soon.

Maybe it is intended… Daily missions were way too easy, I can’t even remember the last time I died while trying to complete one.  Also some of the loot drops were ridiculously high.  1 million credits? Takes me an hour and a lot of effort in 7-8 t3 PVP matches to get that much! With a licence! And someone can just pick it up with no effort? Seems kinda unfair to me…  Now I don’t know by how much rewards have been nerfed, but 1/10 does seem overly harsh to me.  Also nothing was mentioned in the patch notes which is infuriating…

 

 

When will that video be put on Steam?  It’s about time some new stuff got posted there :slight_smile:  Also it is really well made! Would be a shame for it to go to waste and be lost on this thread.

Some Clarifications posted on Steam Forum:

 

  • Dreadnoughts are controlled by AI. 
  • Dreadnought has 3 types of weapons: Dreadnought big cannon, the strongest one, there are 3 of them. There is also medium and small guns, there are many of them.
  • There are Dreadnought only weapons, Dreadnought big cannon
  • Dreadnought has its health and shields which are stgronger than ordinary players ships
  • Dreadnought has its own upgrade system
  • Dreadnought is a killing machine. Plus you can customize the settings of your Dreadnought accordig to your preferences.
  • Dreadnought could not be fully destroyed, therefore it regenerates after each battle.
  • Dreadnoughts can be used only during location captures ie. special events, which happen every day. They are only for Corporations. However, corporations could invite players to defend from enemy corporation attacks. 
  • Can it be used in free roam as clan fleet flagship? No

Any way you guys could put region select next to the launch bar or something?  It really shouldn’t be in the options, in my opinion.

 

Rest of the update is awesome so far!  Invasion feels very fresh(and scary)!
