That’s the end of a lot of “speed” build. I think i can put in the trash my Eagle-b, my kite, my speedyguard Anaconda, my Velo-Trex and so on.

Ninja nerf hitted hard this time…

Finally. Those T-Rex Mk2 were annoying as everything. You can’t run away from them and they just Pulsar you to death, they don’t even shoot you. Back to PvE with the lot of you, I say.

More of 6600 pvp games and less than 350 pve match, wrong guy here (but you are right, speedy-guard dont shoot).

The problem is that fed engies will be almost a waste now, same with fed fighters, and most of the fed interceptors. They were all shield tank oriented, (adaptatives) So you can’t tank them. The amount of shield they have is too small to tank them anyway. And you can’t dual tank a ship with shield and hull resistences and double tank modules.

 

Well, back to empire ships. I will miss mi panther and Konkistador a lot.

So do what I do. My Inquisitor-S has earned me a dozen triple kill medals. Managed to get another one yesterday just by fielding it for 3 minutes, it doesn’t have a single blue on it except the Emergency Booster (and Pulsar, iirc). Yet, I use the main guns a LOT more than the Pulsar. I simply love that ship and I fail to see why people don’t use it more often in PvP (hell, even in SQ, where I used it, the other day).

I feel like they killed all the Federation line of ships. They just annihilated it with 1 ninja blow to the Fed balls. 

I feel we are not giving them enough rage feedback for taking out 1 full faction. They have average shields, average hull  and a HUGE hull size that you can hit without aiming at it. All they have to counter this is 20% speed or so. Awesome.

I use mine loads in PVP and sec con.  You get that ship to a beacon and you have a firendly Naga hanging within healing range, and no matter how many ships come (bar an entire gunship/cov ops squad) you will be able to hold that beacon.  I do however prefer my TRex Mk2 which is NOT adaptive fitted for it’s mobility and it’s inti-chasing capabilities :smiley:

Perhaps I conveyed it the wrong way. What I meant was that the T-Rex-2 has a very specific usage: Hit-N’Run Pulsar/Torp. It had no staying power as a Guard, that job was very often left for the Gunships following it in.

Yes, the nerf was incredibly harsh on Federate ships. However, the nerf was intended AGAINST Imperial ships and this I can agree with. Regardless, as usual, it was another modification that was NOT thought-out, at all. It was another example of a failed Occam’s Razor. The devs saw Imperial ships survived for too long when they were at their top speed, so they removed a portion of their tank. In doing so, they were blinded by the good results and ignored the negative side, which is to say, turning an entire Faction of ships fully dependant on that module, useless. I am curious as to how the playerbase will adjust their Federate fits accordingly, though.

Exactly. The Inqui-S is a bunker ship. Iirc, I used mine to storm into an enemy Beacon in order to take it. They had just killed my Gunship and I was irked at it. So I just stormed my way through my friendly lines and just yelled over comms: “I’m going to cap that Beacon. You can either come or piss off.” And, in my blind rage, everyone around me died, friend and foe alike. We did get that Beacon, though. We did lose the match, however…

With something else! Be creative. See, this is the problem with NOT having changes, either. Every ship on the field just becomes one fit because everything else is not as effective. I always saw that Adaptive Shield as a survival module, let’s see what it turns into, now.

so to re-iterate, esb members, ceo, officers etc have no input, only super testers could have an influence i think. super testers are in a bunch of different corps

This just got a smile out of me. Federation was gutted, but here he is, thinking what to do with the poor empire ships. There there…everything will be ok DestroyHer.

I never used adaptatives in empire ships. They are tanky enough, and that shield slot gives you a lot of utility, either speed or cap space.

I will just park my fed ships and start using jerry ones. After the shield buffs, they are better. and anyway, you only need to tank against thermal nowadays…

It’s more of the same, some Jericho ships are fully dependant on those Adaptives on Armour. I fully expect the gameplay to switch, 70-80%, to Empire. The only exceptions to this are Jericho/Federate ships that don’t fly well with Adaptives.

so it looks like most of QQ wore off. So how many of you noticed this:

and it looks like no one is getting gold standards retrospectively, and that is how much gold you would’ve had towards your own crew.

 

And speaking of technicalities, crew is not pay to win, because there are multiple ways to get gold standards in the game without paying a cent, so that removes the definition of pay2win, and brings it back into pay2grind less category.

I got some GS today but it was around 300 less than my achievement points.  The in game message made it seem like it was for recent biomorph stuff and not old achievements.

 

I know this is a bit late, but it’s definitely an ammo change. There’s two kinetic ammos that look the exact same - one ups fire rate and spread, the other ups projectile speed and lowers damage. Looks like you just got them mixed up is all. I do the same from time to time.

It’s not what’s there, but what’s missing…

It took them long enough to realize that a shield module shouldn’t buff hulls.  It just shouldn’t.

 

Not sure about it. 

Then why everybody on the forum was thinking that adaptive + strafe = 2 unless you have an insane strafe build.

Btw, it’s possible that the “Improved a number of texts” is also taking into account Adaptive shield, which was like that but with the wrong text ?

The thing about adaptives was no one knew except the devs and various testing required a hint of when it’d work.  Now it makes even less sense.  If you go forward at standard speed but then afterburn strafe you’ll maintain the adaptives longer than you could have without the strafing.  At least now we can see.

Yup I know. But it was funny those adaptive gunships empire gunships !

Empire gunships can do tons of thing with their shield slot as a utility slot. Strength for PP, evergy, speed…

thats what I am thinking, my fed gunship / interceptor builds + jeri interceptor builds are pretty weak now. will have to start using empire only ships :frowning: so slow

Jeri interceptors weak without the hull resistance ? Well, it’s Jericho. Their hull is weak so why ?

…I think i just realized that ACTUALLY they are trying to hit speed inties. They were very tough to take down if they had adaptives. 

This is probably part of the “Nerf Inties Without Touching Them” campaign. 1’st is A1MA, then adaptives nerf. 

 

But in my case, they hit my fighters really really hard. 

 

I think a better solution would be making a special version adaptive just for the interceptors, that gives only shield resists. And not screw with the fighters/frigates. 

 

Inties are OP atm anyway. 

Jerry ships don’t mind losing the hull resistances. Jerry interceptors can do well with it.

But feds… Mostly fighters and frigates are useless now. Interceptors still are small so they have some kind of tank.
