Who is CEO of ESB? I always wondered…

 

But yeah, it seems the initial surge of people who joined after launch has gone down (although the dev’s have carefully hidden player count).  I’m getting 4v4 games in t3 now after mignight British time.  It has never been like this before, at least t3 I could count on… Now? Should I drop to t2 and kill n00bs and scare them away from the game? Should I farm in Invasion and get bored? Should I do PVE and get even more bored and probably fail after the first round from what people have been saying about the changes?

Appart from the obvious (DPS), all the stats are different.

Are you sure you’re using same modules and implants?

“Hangar” weapon has more RoF, damage and range than the “Battle” weapon, but in the other hand, “Battle” weapon has better spread, more projectile speed and needs more time to overheat. Not sure if you did something with implants/modules or it’s a weird bug. If you’re sure you didn’t touch your implants and modules please make a bug report adding the screenshots (and more screenshots showing your implants)

yes i’m sure because i didn’t change anything (if you don’t believe me,then i make a video) , but then why the hell i build a ship and feeling good with the resoult in the hangar and then when i watch the battle, there is something diffrent without any change? dafuq is this? bet this s*it crated by the new crew system, ohh yes and sometimes my ship cloak down, frigate when i didn’t use that implant…

No, he’s no one major.  It’s the ESB “super testers” that might matter.

It’s probably just a display error.  I’d be surprised if it was anything other than display.  The game’s had similar issues in the past.

was the changing hangar bug noticed? because it still drops you from the queue, and nobody sees it (no message), it creates very long queue times, and friends often notify me that actually in reality we are all in hangar.

 

the big new icons are huge.

 

i am not sure if the 5 duplicators were mentioned, but they are a nice addition to the 5 day reward.

why even have pve anymore…devo’s have reduced all the ships that can fight in pve to make it harder… now they added more bots to all levels to make it even harder… several people have tried to complete pve with no success and they wonder why people quit playing the game… and now it seems it is all going pay to play with the new implant system and ships… and the bio’s have now been removed from the entry maps in free space…

Two Inquisitor S, a Naga, and an Aura, and we managed a T5 pve mission… just…  This is getting ridiculous!  I do only one PVE mission per day for my daily, but still I understand why everyone is complaining now!

and it looks like no one is getting gold standards retrospectively, and that is how much gold you would’ve had towards your own crew.

 

And speaking of technicalities, crew is not pay to win, because there are multiple ways to get gold standards in the game without paying a cent, so that removes the definition of pay2win, and brings it back into pay2grind less category.

well, and how long do you wanna wait to get 2k GS with ingame-options? 200 polls? and even if you’re in a corp that holds GS-sectors every now and then, it takes at least ~100 days to get the 2k gs. and that’s just the beta-crew then

Right. Because all you have to do is complete 66% of the achievements to get the free 2K gold for the first crew (or complete all of them for 3040), achieve a top 3 position on one of the weekly leaderboard for 100-400 GS, wait for a Golden fight weekend to get another 1,200 GS (or was that 2,400?), be part of a top corporation that owns a GS location for 12 GS every cycle, complete every tutorial for the random 20 GS they give out twice, and answer an official poll for another 10 GS, and spam all your friends with game invites. And maybe win an sponsored tournamant here and there to speed things up.

 

And if you’re very very lucky (as in the top 1% of lucky) you might be able to earn all 4 crews completely free. Maybe. If you’re very patient and Golden fights continue to happen on a semi-annual basis and don’t suddenly disappear.

 

This ‘free’ GS you speak of is a gimmick. And most of the sources are either unattainable by most players (leaderboards, GS territory, tournament victories), pay so little that they are hardly worth the effort (faction tutorials, polls), or are a one-time payout before drying up (achievements). Golden fights are the only exception to all of these, but do not occur in a predictable fashion.

 

I could start up a soup kitchen with a sign that read ‘free soup!’, but the catch was you only got the soup for free if you came by the kitchen for 350 days to get a stamp for each day. I wouldn’t be lying per-say, but I would be considered a scumbag.

 

 

As far as not getting GS retrospectively for achievements and that not being mentioned in the patch notes, yeah I’m angry. But I’m more angry that you keep insisting that a 2,000 GS pay-wall isn’t pay-to-win when applied to a game mechanic that allows players to tune the statistics of their individual ships.

 

Maybe you just don’t understand, since you’ve probably already bought all 4 crews. You certainly had enough GS to burn on crafting supplies (and make a video about nothing but you clicking the buy button over and over again). Unfortunately, most of us don’t have endless wealth to squander and would prefer that the game give us a way to earn them for time spent in-game.

Right… ships are OP, players factor means nothing if you have higher rank ships…

  1. The Matchmaker Punishment. Winning matches doesn’t reward you. It STILL punishes you. HARD. By pitting you against stronger and stronger opponents whilst your own team gets progressively weaker and weaker. This isn’t competitiveness. It’s a slaughterfest. And nothing is done to balance it. Not only that, but I’ve heard they mixed T4 with T5 now? Are you serious? Merging T4 with T5? Really? T5 is still the complete imbalance it was the day it came to life and you decided the best alternative is to merge it with the Tier below it? Whatever happened to fair play? Has the active playerbase declined so far that you’re forced to bring back mixed Tiers again? What happened?

 

 

I remember when they first impemented this, and it sounded good and all in writing. But the past few months, most games have been a slaughterfest. I’m personally not great at pew pewing, so I’ve always focused on the objectives because that’s my use. When I get ECM’d, apparently my team loses. Does the algorithm account for time played, because I shouldn’t consistently be placed with a team that has never seen a beacon before [in T3]? Though sometimes I do get a good team, and then WE steamroll the opponent. Very rarely is there a close match.

 

T4 and T5 were combined because everyone liked sitting pretty in T3 so no one ever filled in the rest, right? The problem is that the T5 ships blow the T4’s out of the sky. You’re better off flying a T3 interceptor fully outfitted in T5 and hope for detonation [but then the T4’s never ever get synergy]. Really the only thing that can fix that issue is to convince [the non-hardcore] people to actually move on from T3. I hate to say this [because it finally went away], but could a small Tier overlap between higher T3 and low, non-premium T4, where there is only 1 or 2 T4’s out of 15 per team… [now that I’m typing this it seems matchmaking-unmanagable]. Maybe just make T4 a little more affordable and NOT mixed with T5.

It’s a shame they aren’t awarded retroactively since, you know, we were Beta and helped them out a lot and all. Then again, that’d only be… okay so 1000 IS a lot to me.

Technically, we’ve gone a bit over a year [or two?] with the assumption that gaining GS outside of paying was not lucrative enough to even be considered ‘heavy grinding’, and that was when we could get GS from playing every day and [more that we get now] from more-common polls.

I remember a good amount of people liking the idea of implants per ship [though the arguments for it were pretty terrible at the time]. I don’t believe they should be GS exclusives because of balance reasons already stated. I could see you trying a balance by giving the second crew for free as well and GS for third and fourth, but that wouldn’t fix the outstanding issue with a shift into *actual* p2w [please, those GS ships and the duplicator are nowhere close to p2w]. Next thing you know, we get our second missile slot back IF we pay GS per ship.

My thoughts on this patch. 

 

Its like a burnt sweet roll. Sure it may smell good in the beginning, but after a while its smells bad and you dont to go near it. That’s the same as this patch. 

 

Having the crew function is a good idea, but asking for GS is seriously P2W. No matter how you look at it. Paying 5 million Credits is a good alternative (the same as a T4 ship). But if you dont include a way to get that with normal means within a reasonable amount of time, then we have a problem. 

 

Who plays PVE anymore? Its hard, boring, and now it does not even return a reasonable amount of profit for the amount of time spent to complete the mission. 

 

The craftable ships are fine, but normal players will never be able to obtain one.

Practically, that’s the only way to get games. Right now during American Evenings, T2 and T3 is where its at.

I know this is a bit late, but it’s definitely an ammo change. There’s two kinetic ammos that look the exact same - one ups fire rate and spread, the other ups projectile speed and lowers damage. Looks like you just got them mixed up is all. I do the same from time to time.

I’ve invested alot of Money in this game in the earlier beta stages, because i wanted it to be sucessful. (All DLC’S and to t4 almost all Premiums, 6 Month License) Sure i bought them when discounted only, because the normal Prices are just way over the top, but it’s still a nice summ of money. 37 Euro’s for a t5 ship…

 

Sadly, it feels like this game has just become a moneygrab. It feels like most of the new Players joined after release are already gone again. Maybe some reached Tier 3. I can’t blame them.

 

I intended on buying the t5 Premiums with the next major sale, but as this game stands now, I’ll not spend another dime on it.

 

I never enjoyed pve in this game, just did it for daily, but with the new difficulty, it’s just become something that you leave aside. Invasion isn’t much better.

 

So you have your pvp skirmish left, but there it seems harder to get matches, probably because of Player base dropped like a rock.

 

on the Topic that dev’s don’t listen to any other Players except russians: i can’t believe that. Why would russians think any other way than we do? I don’t think they like pay to win or almost impossible pve or a low Player base…

Yeah. My reaction is more or less the same. Makes a lot of builds less viable, but it was absolutely a good choice. On the other hand, not mentioning a balance change this big on the patch notes? Really, guys?

The bot bhaviour changes seriously need to be rolled back. It broke weapon/ship balancing and, in some cases, easily tripled the time to kill a single bot. I understand the community complained about the boredom in pve, but this is only adding irritation to it. Now I won’t bring a long-range frigate in pve, they’re just too fragile.

 

The first time I died to them post-patch, the “Do you want to buy a replicator?” message took another meaning. “We’re going to fleece you. A little closer with each patch”. That’s what this message was saying to me.

 

 

And what’s with the T4/5 tier? 3-5 minutes of waiting each time is enough to make me close CS and launch another game. If there’s a lack of players, then rewards need to be increased or access conditions lowered.

 

 

 

Anyway, until this mess is sorted out, I will basically just log in for the daily rewards, if even that.
