Star Conflict OBT v0.9.1 Discussion

I’ve had a lot of matches where there was a corp squad, even when it was 4 person squads, and I would end up in the middle of the top five. Trying to figure out intentions is the tricky part, and sometimes a slower fighter isn’t so good following a bunch of gtfo interceptors. Right now my DSR’s getting closer to 1300 as well, by flying solo. Not using my Eagle-B in detonation helps a lot for that part, because I’d die a lot. Some matches are just bad, because the other team dominates, and my hanger doesn’t have the ships to counter effectively.

Being a team player and showing teamwork doesn’t require a squad.

(My dsr is 1500 something… but i don’t understand how does it matter in this … and i don’t even really care bout it).

have to say… t3 is very different compared to t5… and expecially game mode makes difference. U can maybe try to arrange something in domination and detonation… but beacon hunt, recon, realistic… well when u find a good premade (or a good premade +1) and u are 3 randoms (or 4) in t5 u just can’t do anything exept try to survive.

dsr depends on the tier you play in. it’s based on the players you kill… and some average.

you cant get a higher dsr if there are no players in that tier with a higher dsr to kill.

in t2/t3 the most common dsr is 1000-1200. you can’t get much more than 1300 in t2/t3. you have to go to t4/5.

Simply talk to them. When I want to coordinate with a corp squad I tend to use whisper rather than team chat because of the terrible chat system - the chance of them being on the corp tab rather than the global/battle tab and thus not seeing battle chat is rather high, but they’ll see a whisper in either tab.

I agree that having a somewhat respectable DSR helps to confirm you’re not a drooling newb and thus helps at being taken seriously - your capability of team work was confirmed by trying to coordinate already.

PS: The trick to doing well in fighters is to be extremely careful not to overextend. Your survivability in a scrap depends on ability cooldowns more than any other class, so often it is wise to disengage early to potentially come back with a vengeance shortly thereafter rather than overstaying your welcome and risking to be left behind in enemy territory if the tide of battle turned against you.

But I like the French, Germans, Russians, and Chinese.  Chat doesn’t work then.  It’s mainly in game pinging and knowing where you’re going.  Whenever I have a match with one guy yelling at the team what to do, or insulting the team, at the end I check their profile.  A lot of time they’re not really experienced or good.

The only ships that are decent at overextending are ships with cloaks, tacklers, covert ops, and recon.

I had 1500 in t3 too honestly… actually i lost around 100 points from when t5 was released and i joined it. (Uded to be 1500~1600 … now 1400~1500). But again… it doesn’t matter here, nor i care bout it.

yea, it depends when you joined i suppose, since there were no players in higher tiers before, and they had to get there slowly.

It was actually much faster. Progression was at least three times as fast as it is now, and you gained loyalty per match.

I always check for language and willingness to communicate almost every game I play. I’d type “wassup team” at game start and see how many respond back. it’s no guarantee you’re going to have a team oriented match at all. but atleast I get to know how many people I can type to if I need it later on.

it’s the other way around for me.

I don’t lead. It doesn’t work and you’ll end up raging like the 2 week old nub you meet on chat now and again.

You look for people who know what they’re doing instead. If there is one - you add to their efforts.

example: Playing as Engineer

Squad A goes off to push for beacons.

Squad B flies out in the middle and dogfights

My default is to help out the beacon gang for being objective oriented. But if they leave me hanging or fail in some other way Dogfighting squad will get my heals next respawn. Atleast I know those guys will protect me for their own DSR motives.

What I don’t do is go off for objectives and expect people to support me then rage if I don’t get any. That’s how it is with flying solo. If you wanna be boss - you squad up. If not - follow the leader. Or someone else’s leader for that matter.

This is not true, DSR based on your KD ratio and DSR of players contributing to your KD, back when i advanced to t3, before i joined NASA, i had 1450 DSR and i was doing suicide Captain rushes all the times, now, in T3 my DSR floats in 1400-1500 range no matter if i fly in a squad or solo. And i am not that long in T3 200 games maybe?

I’m > 1600 DSR and I play solo T2.

Going to have to pull a Luckyo on you (feeling dirty already, lol) and say you’re just making up excuses for your performance instead of bettering yourself.

PS: This was a rather uneventful patch if we’re heavily off-topic so quickly…

Shame you feel that way. I just push people to T4/T5 and to better themselves. How they take it is up to them.

Regardless, the patch has balanced out many things. Though some things went a bit silly, like the potential return of jericho torpedo spam, SYN and ESB flying guards in T5 in 3 mans after singularity nerf with great success and the fact that we know that singularity hit sounds are coming.

It’s the way you do it, not what you do. I am however looking forward to meeting you in battle in your tier one day - if we’re both still around for that since it’ll take me a while.

Patch overall was pretty good, I agree. Things I don’t like are indeed the guided torpedo buff and further distancing the tiers from each other in performance (tier based range buff) yet maintaining the massive three tier spread in match-making. And the joke of doubling synergy gain on elite ships yet maintaining the cap so effectively it changes nothing.

And then there remain a lot of bug fixes and suggested improvements that I hope to see sooner rather than later.

But overall I still enjoy shooting spaceships, and I think the weapon changes in 0.9.0 worked out quite well despite some remaining rough edges.

double synergy helped raise the minimum gained … better than nothing. for top players it’ll have little to no impact but for people like me it’s a welcomed change.

i honestly don’t get why the projectile speed buff by tiers thing. they like doing things like that.

as for weapons … heavy blaster and laser overheating that was a positive addition.

but buffing already first choice weapons and neglecting the others …? mmmmm

Because speeds also increase as tiers progress. That means fights tend to happen at longer ranges.

Is it just me, or is there still no feedback sound when hit by sillyngularity?

is it just me or did I not receive my daily x2 win bonus coz it exceeded synergy cap … ?

Remove synergy caps…

is it just me or did I not receive my daily x2 win bonus coz it exceeded synergy cap … ?

All bonuses, including the 2x for daily win are added on top of the cap. I.e. you get the base income and then it’s multiplied by whatever bonuses you have to get the total synergy numbers.

If your base synergy hits a cap, you get maximum base synergy times all multipliers.

No impact sound as of yet if that’s what you mean. They’re working on it.

I didn’t get my daily double synergy just now … owell.

Fair enough, but they could have implemented it like the daily double which is indeed applied after the cap, not before.

I didn’t get my daily double synergy just now … owell.

Maybe you already got it today and forgot.

edit: might also be something wrong with the server because my daily login bonus did reset out of turn today
