Good direction. Create special trainup for new pilots to help them learn game mechanics and stand a chance once they get into pvp.

This is detrimental to what has been a team-based game.

Camer a

You can now adjust the camera’s maximum distance

Camera adjustment is available in the options menu

 

This is good. Customization = a good thing. How about the reticle? Most other shooters allow you to change the color and/or style of the reticle to your liking. This would also be a good interface improvement - especially when shooting stuff against light backgrounds - reticle disappears.

 

And on that note, is free aim going to be available in “expert” flight mode and not just in “basic” flight mode any time soon? Would love to use the feature, but the flight mechanics in basic drive me nuts so I don’t use it.

 

 

15th rank contracts:

Loyalty is removed from contract completion rewards

Monetary reward increased to 50,000 credits

 

What is the purpose of this? Is this simply saying, “there will never be a rank 16 ever in development” or is it to prevent people from being able to work toward future ranks (giving high rank players purpose now)?

Once you’ve reached R15 in a subfaction there’s no more point to Loyalty rewards as you’re maxed anyways.   They’re just giving increased credit rewards is all.

2 Stealth changes(1 kinda useless, but stealth) I’ve found(Not sure if named before in the thread…)

Bombs are now displayed on the ship, instead of beneath it.

 

 

bombs are now visible AT ALL TIMES. Even when no one has it in his sensor range. No more stealth approaches for you!

I think you can tell how many people were not around pre patch 7 in T2 where jericho frigs reigned supreme.

I wasn’t even around before 7.7…In those 2 weeks before 7.9 I had the most fun though, since then progression became a true grind and fun started fading…

I don’t know how many matches I’ve played since 9.1(I’m guessing around 10, all in my LRF), but I got  46 :smiley:

Synergy

Now, upon achieving maximum synergy, ships earn double the amount of synergy.

 

lol, got a chance to test this now. Maybe elite ships do earn double synergy now but the synergy cap does not double along with it. I always hit the cap before the patch, I still hit the exact same cap now on elite ships, i.e. getting the same synergy I always did.

Have to admit you had me with the patch notes for a moment, nice joke. :wink:

I have to say that this patch makes playing PVP impossible for T3’s. T4’s are killing me with one shot or at most 2and thats even with a guard frigate!!! I may play some but from now on it will only PVE!!

I cant cuss in this forum but if I could I would!!!

And the balance of the game has completely gone to hell now that you dev’s have decided to allow T4’s against T3’s…its just no contest! Thank you for screwing up a halfway good game so badly that a large number of people will quit because of it!!!

Try righting T5 in T4 ships, now THAT, is unfair.

T3 vs T4 stand a good chance since they are exactly equal to eachother besides missing 1 passive vs R12, but those are mostly fighting against T5…

Is there any kind of “limiting-choices-Theme” going on here? The weapons, the modifiers, the missiles, the squads… whats next? 

 

Yes there is, and it is exactly the reason why my friends and I have all quit playing entirely.

 

I only poke my head around the forum now, in hopes that one of these patches will actually improve things instead of limiting more.

Oh, please. I was in a match earlier on my Crus-S, took half a dozen ships to kill me and I had no Engineer support. You silly Fed Guards shouldn’t be defending anything, anyway…

And the squad size change killed ESB kill squads. Boom heashot. They’re so utterly toothless now, it’s almost comical. All the threats about “making more killsquads and owning entire tiers” ended up being an empty bluff as predicted.

 

Sadly medicine ended up being worse than the disease. The volume of people unhappy about not being able to make 4 man squads is huge.

Yeah, I fear that the jericho LRF might actually become OP now…But will have to see.

It’ll be nerfed as soon as that happens. But how long has there been an issue? After I finish leveling my Katana type S, it looks I’ll drop back down to T2 to work on my Templar.

You are VERY mistake if you think this is going to solve anything. What’s next? Reduce them to 2 pilots? Let’s just remove squads altogether, that’ll fix things nicely. On a game that actually TELLS people you should team up, this was a god-awful move.

They’re attempting to handle squad dominance. Squad skill is different than independent team skill.

Premium ships of ranks 1-3 are no longer available

Everyone in possession of these ships will get to keep them

God forbid you should just refund them, instead of letting them keep ships no rookie will ever be able to purchase. They’ll just go “what’s this!? what are these ships?”

 

 

They really don’t like refunds. At least for the weapon changes, they were severe enough to warrant it.

Free synergy gained by premium ships is now increased to 20% of total earned synergy

Worst. Move. Ever. 60% or refund.

Other than my Desert Eagle, I’m not going to use premiums anymore. Why keep the Desert Eagle, it’s my only T3 gunship. It has 450k of synergy built on it, because I like it. Most of that game time is after 0.9 when I knew it’d probably be worthless.

Singularity Generator:

Time to overheating reduced by 15%

Cooling time increased by 18%

THIS is what you waited 3 weeks for!? Making it MORE overpowered!?

 

 

I think that’s a nerf. It stops firing faster, cools down longer. I think the biggest issue is the AoE of the projectile.

Shrapnel Cannon:

Damage increased by 5%

Range increased by 18%

Yes. OP weapon is now more OP. Well done.

 

 

The reason you see it used so often is because the inty weapons suck on average. After the patch, I’m using “horizon” module a lot. Taking on beacon drones without one limits you to taking fire.

Gauss Cannon

Rate of fire reduced by 40%

Damage increased by 67%

Alright. NOW it might feel like a sniper weapon. There are still 3 charges which means it will now be able to 1-shot Fighters.

 

 

Maybe I’ll try equipping it on my command. Once I finish T3 Jericho commands, I’ll have to switch to Empire Commands to deal with getting a Lucifer. Is there even a genuine benefit on gunships? I never liked command ships, even if getting free bufs helped my score.

Good and bad. You know why it’s still bad, I REALLY hope no one has to tell you why.

 

 

It’s a gesture, but they know what they’re doing so they’re really not making it better. They’re just encouraging people to pay cash on synergy transfers.

Just Antibus, PLEASE, don’t breack ECM too… don’t make them usless ships.

There is nothing wrong with ecm actually, what’s wrong here is stasys.

So change stasys, remove it completly if u want… but please don’t change anything else.

How limited should ECM be? Ion Emitter isn’t enough to assist in kills, only preventing death on your team. Energy absorber helps prevent module and afterburner use, but that’s it. What do you recommend to replace it?

As far as the players were concerned, and let’s face it, ours is the only opinion that matters, Premium ships were a way to progress more quickly.

Take Tier 3 prior to the 0.9.0 patch. If you bought a Rank 7 ship and fly it, you’d earn less money than if you’d stayed in Tier 2 and flew your Rank 6. This was pretty much guaranteed for the majority of players because Rank 7, especially the Phobos, were and still are terrible ships. Eventually, you get to Rank 8 and your income and xp rate improved, and then eventually you’d hit Rank 9 and you’d be earning good amounts of cash and xp.

Or, you could go Premium. This would immediately give you Rank 9 cash and xp income, plus a little bonus income because you had no repair costs. You earned money faster, you got xp faster, and you progressed faster. You could skip the crap ships nobody wants to fly and shouldn’t be in the game at all because they serve no purpose, and get the ships that people actually want to fly.

Premium helps you jump into a tier as well, skipping R7.

Now, it’s “pay to grind more”.

We paid money because we liked the direction the game was going, and then the Dev team said “xxxx you!” and changed direction. Now they’ve taken away the stuff we paid for and won’t give it back, nor will they refund us. In essence, the Dev team stole from us.

Why should we be thankful of supportive of thieves?

For how many patches have we been asking for a reticle change? I think since before I started playing. Even just in an explosion it can be easy to loose.

I think I’ve used expert since T1, since I just can’t deal with “basic.” Expert gives ship control. “Basic” just gives targeting aim.

It doesn’t look like it I know, but the bomb was moving and an enemy was carrying it to the beacon.

Bugs are different than stealth changes. That’s a bug. Bombs always being visible, that’s actually a good thing. I’ve seen several matches where the bomb was planted while I was looking at the overview map not seeing where the bomb carrier was.

And the squad size change killed ESB kill squads. Boom heashot. They’re so utterly toothless now, it’s almost comical. All the threats about “making more killsquads and owning entire tiers” ended up being an empty bluff as predicted.

Then ESB needs to know the game got crippled by their behavior. Let them wear that on their chest.
