So for you, the answer to something not balanced, it is another thing even more unbalance.
Logic …
And if i say “Spy Drone”, it tells you something? Works on one ship only.
There is also a thing call ECM and really good to prevent someone used modules. Again, one ship only. Or a bunch of them for 2 seconds. You plan on taking down a frig ball with that?
The ion warhead is also nice and unrestricted vessels. For how many seconds again? Oh yeah, 3.5. It sucks.
AND FIX THE GRINDING OMG!
It’s just horrible to spend hours and hours for nothing!
I went to have a look at your competitors and strange feelings of the gain is largely stronger, and “Pay to Grind” much less present.
* Runs away infuriating HOWLING OF DESPAIR AND SEEING HOW LONG IT WILL BE ACHIEVED RANK 15 EVERYWHERE *
HAZARD’s entire purpose is to crack frigate balls. You want to nerf frigs? You’re going to have a lot of people on your @$$. You’re going to buff everything else? That’s going to require a lot of value changes.
It lasts for a relatively short amount of time and can still affect your own team if you’re careless. If you read closely , you’ll notice it says that it can infect your own ships. Interceptors can clear the 1500m gap easily. Fighters, sure. Frigates? They’ll have a little trouble. Guard especially. Warp gate Engy? That’s an easy way out. There are a lot of ways to avoid it, but they all require distancing.
EDIT: If you look and think, you’ll see things you didn’t before.
But I do agree completely with the grinding. Grinding times are far too darn high.
Regarding your virus thing, even though its gonna fight frigballs, its gonna discourage any formation flying and we don’t want that, not at all. IMO all frig balls are coming from the way we have objectives set up, as long as you have objects to capture/protect/check points in a sense, you will see lots of tankish ships+aoe dmg it always was it always will be in every single game, if we get less mobility for frigates we get less frig balls or if we get demand for small mobile ships from objectives standpoint/ma[ design.
CovOps are not OP in T2, they are on a stronger-easier to play side but not OP, tweak plasma arc dmg or more resistance across the board and its golden.
R4 Raptor is useless no matter what guns you put on it, it is awesome for T1 not T2, and its uselessness is completely different topic, actually all R4/5;R7 balance is a different story(you basically flying tier 1.5 and discussing T2 and T3, and no you do not have enough knowledge about them, period) , when everyone is talking about T2/T3 balance every one speak from Max rank within it.
EDIT in 99% of PvP competitive games balance relies on max lvl, yes r4/r5/r7 has to be rebalanced, but the way you talk about balancing is that you being maxed tier since forever. Again understand that balance of a Tier and balance of low ranked ships within a Tier are 2 different stories
Disregarding someone misconceptions about balance because they are flying a massively underpowered ship is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. You cannot really have a good handle on something as delicate as balance when you fly a glorified trashcan.
When you’re a dwarf, even an average person looks like a giant.
I don’t really know if they nerfed gains too much or something, but I remember zerging to R9 in a matter of days on license. So I was mostly in Mk2 gear back then, but every time I entered a new tier, my main focus was to grind to next top rank ship and grind in that.

That’s why I made it have a reduced effect on smaller ships. A 1500m radius isn’t actually that large, either.
Okay, maybe the ship itself isn’t, but the Plasma Arc most definitely is, yes. Unfortunately I have no use for the experimental one I have in my warehouse atm; don’t have any Cov Ops.
Why does everyone just assume the only T2 ship I have is the Raptor? I have the Alligator C and Fox M, and the only reason why I still have the Raptor is because I’m saving up so that when I get some T3 ships I can afford to kit them out in some nice mk3 items.
It’ll take me a while, as I’m trying to get my loyalty in every faction to 6, so I can equip some T2 ships with mk3 gear so that I can play with my brother who’s only just got the game and teach him how to play. When I’ve done that, I’ll take them up to 9 and get the equipment I need for T3.
Now I have the contract to destroy 100 ships and I cant fullfill that one in T3.
Last time I went back to T1 to use the target-painter on 5 ships (for an other contract), it ended up with me having 14 kills and a fear me.
Beginners will get raped by vets if this doesnt get fixed.
Part of the issue there is the game is also finnicky about whether a ship counts or not. I had the “get 100 kills” contract as the Federation and only Fed ships counted. Since my only T2 Fed ships worth flying are Covert Ops it was bloody slow going; if I was able to rock up in my Empire or Jericho ships I could have clocked it in half the time and wouldn’t have to keep dropping into tier 1.
I feel obligated to tell you guys (and everyone else on the forum) that this can be completed in PvE. Pull out a Guard and you’ll be done in two matches. I was, and I used an Engi.
Though, on the topic, I do agree with the consensus of keeping the weapons as they are, and just rebalancing them. Unconvential can be good, and so long as it is kept within the bounds and isn’t an exploit, then why not put Hails on an Inty?
(If you’re questioning where I stand in the game, feel free to hit my up in game, name: Ferrous. 8/6/5, 6/6/0/5/0/6 Playing exclusively T2 atm, grinding to R9 for T3. Usually Engi, sometimes Command, rarely everything else.)
The engi drone bullet speed should be toned down a little. I like the idea but its a bit too strong against interceptors. Right now it does more damage to my covert ops than any manually aimed weapon. It also has perfect accuracy against active camo.
Drone fire has been buffed in last patch to be extremely accurate. If you’re trying to attack the engineer, it’s near 100% accuracy when you’re not flying at extreme speeds in relation to engineer (i.e. can shoot at it).
I had to change my approach on attacking engineers to “let someone else pick up the drone aggro before engaging”. Drones will generally outdps you in relative terms when engaging an engineer.

I have to say: drones are very powerful now. Even to the point where they’re pretty much OP. Drones before were good, excluding the ridiculously long special module recharge time. But the accuracy, damage and healing they can do… I saw a FRIG BALL in T2. The drone cycling was horrible. 6 or so of them just cycling their drones and we could not put a dent in them.
I feel sorry for interceptors inside my drone range as they get absolutely hammered if I play my cards right. Fighters take quite a lot of damage and become easy targets for the main guns…
