The highlighting of locked ships is also a brilliant touch.
its great isnt it.
The buff modules for my command fighter no longer trigger a graphic effect or sound when launched.
the new loot systems horrible its like “look good loot” … “haha just kidding have some credits instead!”
removing the cooldown for the win 1 game contracts was definitely a good idea and will at least let us unlock mk3 stuff abit faster to counteract the loot lossess
all in all a good patch with some decent improvements imo.
I just don’t know what to say. They intended to make looting system “more interesting”, yeah. But what we have now is just BS. I don’t even care if we still have effectively the same chance to gain new items, this system is just rage-inducing. Previously it was “yaaay, I have new item”, now it’s “s***, it failed to retrieve it again”. Also paying real money for a laughable chance of 30% for successful looting. Are you kidding me?
I don’t even care THAT much about military loot, but what about rare experimentals? Do they have 10 / 30 per cent chance too? That would be epic rage to lose them nonetheless, which you’ll have quite a good chance of no matter what you do.
Yes they do. I just won a rare horizon T3 module. Oh wait, no. I just broke one to pieces.
I do not want to be mocked with items. I’m at the point where Military is just a big pile of cash, but if I see an Experimental piece of equipment I want it to be mine with no chance of it being lost or damaged.
Hows the above affecting Jericho Long Range frigates with the Torpedo module?
Does this mean that a Jericho LRF can only pick lone targets with no friendlies around cos they would get bombed too, and therefore not provide any assist to active combat situations?
Or that you can’t fire Jericho LRF torpedos as close range defense against interceptors?
I suppose I can answer that question now the servers are up:
Jericho LRF torpedos are still the same speed so relative to the general speed buff, they’ve been nerfed in flight speed.
LRF torpedos now does friendly damage so they can’t be used to break up a beacon capture or a captain defence and can not be used as self-defence anymore.
Couple that with the auto destruction of the torpedos by any guard frigate in range (gives them immunity to LRF torpedos), cos their missile defence has lower cooldown than each torpedo shot, and the torpedo control disable debuff, theres not much else you could have done to completely ruin that class.
No wait! You could have exempted the LRF from the speed buff and removed 2 of the turrets down to 4 in total.
Thank you so much for not doing that! It makes such a huge difference taking all the other faults in consideration!
Not…
If you don’t mind, i’ve got some GS i’d like to have reimbursed.
Yes It is making the game not worth playing you get into battle and crash and I never got the 1 day premium they promised
3 Greens 2 purple all failed had a score of 3200 all on the 10% chance oh wairt here have credits instead of gearing your ship smart idea imo 200 gold for 30% thats a joke right?
If I was in charge of this I probably would log in and see everyone going crazy over the loot and crashes but I guess us paying customers come last as usual
I dont care if there is a chance to break it (90%…), but for real money you get 3 times the chance to get it, that is BS.
Every time s1 tried to convince other that this game is pay to win, i simply showed them that the best items from loot. Now the best items has 90% chance to break if you dont pay with real money (and with real money you get 70% to break which is still BS)
Agreed, the new looting system is clearly aimed to make it tempting to spend gold when you find a purple, even then you might end up with nothing. The old way was kinda boring too but I didn’t mind some extra credits and the occasional green or purple items were a pleasant surprise.
It upsets or even makes people rage and explode when they find a rare item and the game says “xxxx, you are not having this OR maybe I’ll give it to you if you pay… MAYBE!”,
This new system is a really bad idea.
I played a hour after the update and didn’t find anything bad except the looting system, the camera is okay with all of my jericho ships - I do not play federation or empire frigs so I don’t know how bad those are.
The camera has fucked up so badly I cannot fly my Frigates any more. It needs to go back to what it was!
And then someone will say that we are crying only cuz we know the old system and new players don’t see the problem. No, there is a problem! You can drive a car or fly a spaceship with a damn binoculars glued to your very eyes!

I’ve tried flying fully zoomed in and it made me motion sick. Fully zoomed out the ship model takes up too much of the screen.
With the old camera I still would have liked to zoom out even further, but as long as I had it full zoom out then I was fine.
I am trying really hard to give this update the benefit of the doubt, but I just can’t.
The camera change is horrible on frigates, and the new loot system feels like a kick in the teeth. Loot no longer feels like I am being rewarded, but instead being given new toys only to have them snatched away again and given 1/4 of their street value as ‘compensation’.
Only thing left to test is PvE, and I’d put money down that the looting there has been nerfed to hell as well.
The new looting system gives the awesome chance to pay real money and receive absolutely nothing to show for it.
This definately takes greed to a new all-time low.
Even if I wanted to use my real life money on a gambling website, I’d most surely choose one that can also win money, unlike this WHICH CAN ONLY LOSE IT OR LOSE IT AND GIVE A VIRTUAL ITEM FOR IT. wtf ?
Oh, and an update they didn’t mention: the mission “Dreadnought Sabotage” has been renamed to something rather less impressive. Something along the lines of “damaging enemy stuff.”
The “purple” loot is no longer a guaranteed item. Now it’ll show you an item, but give you cash instead thanks to this “all your items will break now” update.
urgh, there better be some way to improve our chances of extracting the loot, without needing to shell out, money. have to say im glad i haven’t bought any credits yet and i wont either untill they remove all the bull-blam!- they have been adding
also i have to agree the camera is a pain in my ships thrusters, literally because they decided to shove the camera up it
Having tried out the new patch, the most frustrating thing is the new loot system. “Hey, you found a rare, awesome weapon, do you want to pay us cash and get it a third of the time, or don’t pay anything and odds are get nothing? Really, look at that shiny new thing, don’t you want it? Oh, opted for the free option then. Too bad, you broke it. Should have paid up…”
They are just taunting players now. It was bad enough that every other time you pick a point you get “No Loot”.
WOW, you ‘developers’ really should listen to your players and stop making the game worse…or you might actually kill it, fully.
You didn’t announce the highlighted targets? Way too cheesy…looks terrible.
The zoomed camera ‘fix’ is shocking…was it not tested or something?! At least increase the range of zoom available to fix this…
Noone likes the looting because the percentages are ridiculous. Make the upgrading part more fun! At the moment it’s a chore.
There’s true humility found in doing a little _‘we were wrong’ _rewind to an older patch, instead of trying to develop ideas that never worked and people can’t stand…
And perhaps halving those gold prices might bring in more money from a casual gamer audience, instead of extortionate rates? At least a DLC sale?
I’ll admit, I’m not a spender, but I DO have a say because I’m waiting for either a DLC worth buying, or a decent amount of patching awesomeness before I commit. You have a great foundation game to work with but at the moment, it’s a sad scene. I don’t want to invest in devs who try to loot their customers at every opportunity. I was really stoked for this game a couple of months ago.
