My guess is that they did this to increase potential money income. Why you ask? Well its because from gaining loyalty you get the option to buy blue items which are equal to gold items purchased with galactic standards which you get from buying with real money. So if its “easy” to get loyalty you get access to those blue items and dont buy the gold items. Also another reason they changed it is probably because all contracts besides the 7 days one were pointless. You would not get anything worthwhile from doing them. So I’m hoping the increased contract rewards means you would get about the same loyalty as you did before just that instead of getting them from win/lose you would get them from completing contracts.

 

But as I wrote before I see a problem with that. Because you need the same amount to level up a subfaction as you need to level up a faction. And since I get the same amount of credits (besides looting right) from loosing and winning. When I’ve got my max tier ship there is no incentive for me to win.  Just to not die and to complete contracts.

Captain mode was especially not fun today as in few games i played bouth teams turtled up araund captain in frigates as few people fought in mid field and few kept suiciding to kill oposing captain.

Bomb run was clusterfuck of people spaming mines and missiles and whichever side was lucky enough won.

Please rething that change as atm player skill impacting the match outcome is greatly deminished, and fun value with it also.

i like the more players in battle The more the better thats my opinion but i want see bigger maps as well or with more stuff like some kind of city with lots of buldings and things like that or even the civil ships like npc that do nothing just fly around :smiley:

I have a few arguments to add :

Making the faction harder to level up is a way of adding lifetime.

I grinded up the three races to level 12, and I never did and never will buy gold items even though it was very tempting. That’s the way those kind o games go. You are either patient and grind manually, or you pay.

I just would like to remind you that this game is not a pay to win because premium items are not better than faction items. And XP are better. I’d like to keep it that way.

Frankly, I don’t see the problem with the devs wanting to earn money. They don’t force you, they incite you. I prefer a game like that, it’s a good compromise. It’s not a pay to win. It’s not an advertisement funded game. It’s not a blockbuster completely locked by DRM.

And frankly, this is a game bound to become quite difficult to master. Honestly, the grind time is compatible with the time needed to master the game mechanisms and piloting skills.

We are still in beta and all changes are not final. There will always be changes who are not nice at first, but we will listen to your feedback and do our best to improve it.

 

How about the nerf to emp fighters?

How about diminishing returns to CC (you know every other game has this)

 

Why bring an update that makes the maps more sniperfriendly so that not only do you get sniped all the time, half of your team is inclined not to do anything useful and play sniper instead.

True. This need to be set so that you grind your faction and your race at the same rhythm.

Never !!! Who wants that ? Not me.

I am worried a bit (maybe more than a bit) about people who will now (for example) instead of planting the bomb or capture the points, now fly around and hunt frigates or only kill others with missles or lasers or plasma to fullfill their contract. :confused:

I know it already was a bit this way but now it will go worst and ruin the gamefeeling.

 

Suggestion from me. A gamemode like Teamdeathmatch to choose like Arcade or the other modes would solve the problem a bit so the playes will play the other modes seriously

So essentially any fighter can catch up with the interceptors now…this makes the interceptor class useless now. This is sad, I’ve been having so much fun with the game being a interceptor, I just bought the T3 kite yesterday, only to find that its useless now…

I’d like to see you go at 600 with a t3 fighter.

Only 1 thing bothering me with this patch so far, the loyalty system removal is a big boo boo, i liked leveling the subfactions, this takes a hell a lot of the fun me, if they want to reduce it im fine with it, but completly removing any progress but 3 contracts from which some are pure luck is a big no no for me.

 

This is the second time i wish i could get my money back, the first was reading about the prizes of the corps.

All good points but you are ignoring few things here.

First having premium account now doesnt affect faction reputation, so basicly you are getting less value from your money on premium.

Second theres no way to speed up the faction grind by paying, only way to do so is to buy modules for gold. Which means that you either pay to fit your ship nicley or grind a scenario.

Contract used to be a nice boost on my faction standing and i used to pay litl atention to fullfil one, but now ill have to concentrate only on that. Every side has two factions and you used to progress faster with faction than unlock tiers, and it that system contracts made sence. Making them pivotal to unlocking items without doing any changes to them is a bad idea. It would be interesting to see how long it used to take to unlock rank 12 with faction before and afther the cahng, i can bet it takes 10x more time thanks to the fact that theres a timer on contracts.

 

Also you are talking about skill progression being slower than unlock progression but the game is going the oposite direction now. There are modules which eliminate all skill beyond having it and using it on the enemy in order to get a kill (stasis for eg). Also increase in numbers of players per map just means that skill is less important.

I have to chime in here and say the new font is really quite bad.

 

Worse readability than the last font.

 

I assume it was changed to fit better in restricted spaces, but I haven’t checked that yet.  If so, shame it had to be at a hit to the aesthetics and readability of it.

I concur, I hope they only changed it because it saves cpu/server space, that’s at least the only thing it would be any good for.

 

Also: Is it just me or do the ship models look a lot sharper now?

That will lead to even more players giving not a single xxxx to win a match. If you really have to do that (because you have strange believes why ppl pay for a F2P game) give at least a sizable bonus for contracts that are fulfilled in a game where they match is won.

Another thing utterly annoying to me are battles with 12 vs 12, 8vs 8 felt perfect, not too many, not too few, couple great dogfights. Now its just a stupid clusterfuck sapping all fun out of me.
