Do you really feel a bubble gunship should outrun an interceptor?
In ANY situation… No.
There is something I don’t understand. If intyes are “dead” according to the vets on the forum. why is everyone picking them ?
It’s like the sniper in Cod/Bf. If everyone takes them => they nerf it to have less people taking them and equilibrate the games in terms of number of classes. That’s all… It’s been like that in all games for ages now.
I’ve never seen that much inty swarms since I play even after the speed nerf. One exception => combat recon where frigballs rules.
I believe that depends on your tier. In t3 there are tons of intys but in higher tiers there may not be as many.

That’s the problem. But the devs only look at the big picture, they NEVER look at ships in detail. And this is where the balancing issues have failed in the past.
I had a match today of beacon hunt where my team had 1 jerry lrf and no other frigates
Frigates are slow and are poor in beacon hunt games. Look at the lineup people take for capture the beacons and you’ll see frigates dominate at first. Inties weapons are weak compared to fighters and frigates, and when you consider fed fighters, their speeds aren’t that great.
Think of normal warfare, your fast attack groups outnumber but it’s the heavy hitters that hold. Inties are poorer at holding but currently are poor at being an advance team in many situations. Tactical retreats are rarely effective.
As a side note, Engineers with bufs need a serious buf somehow, they’re rarer than ECM’s, LRF’s, and guards in the matches I’ve seen lately.
I think they’re rare because in order for engies to work properly you have to have a team that knows what its doing. Engies need to sit right behind the front line in order to stay out of fire but be close enough to provide buffs and when you constantly get bad teams where the front line is constantly moving/dispersing you lose all protection from being swarmed to death by gunships and co’s. When you get those rare games where you can sit behind the front line and hold down a beacon for ages while healing your team and getting lots of assists its a really fun role, but most of the time that doesnt happen and you find yourself constantly dying trying to help your team.
A month ago it was different, three months ago they were so OP they received some of the the hardest nerfs I’ve seen. It seems like only now they’re really dieing. Even then, half don’t heal!

Uh, yes? If it’s a Fed fighter with speed mods AND it has whatever that speed/maneuverability module, why shouldn’t it be faster? Obviously not 100% of the time, but for goodness sake! Federation depends on speed to survive against the hull and shield tankers on either side!

Last time I played an Engineer, I flew right in the heart of my team and only withdrew if I started drawing too much heat. I would retreat with 2 interceptors in tow and the rest of my team would ignore me. They literally watched as the interceptors nibbled me down. And then they wondered why they couldn’t hold the beacons.
Been there done that. Before I got into interceptors I strictly played engineer but got sick and tired of the lack of support from my team to the point where I felt like they’d watch me die just like what happened to you. I still play engineer as a secondary when i get bored of my co or recon but I cant stand to play it for more than a few games due to getting extremely frustrated with bad teams who practically run from the objectives. When you get a decent team you really feel like you’re helping your team and making a difference but when you get bad teams you’re little more than a sacrificial meat shield.
Now you’re making me all nostalgic for the days when I would squad up and go racing to the rescue of Shnuggles and Izzman. :fed003:

It has always been able to do that. It’s just that before, the moment you fired, you lost a lot of speed and couldn’t do that anymore.
Now you can.
