Speed is a very sensitive subject… I think i prefer the little nerf they put on ceptors, speedy ceptors were really abused b4 tbh, and that was the reason why all of the best pilots used to fly ceptors like hell…Maybe a littel speed buff…but nothing more than 10-15 m/s

And how do you abuse speed? you mean by flying not a straight line?!? Its a tradeoff… either you “tank” with speed or with HP… well right now ints have neither of it. On the other hand you cant really tank with speed at all. All that is required is just careful aiming.

I don’t know about you but my tiger II has a BASIC speed of 304 and just 16k resistance…I could put some speed modules on but i would be far from the target of 450 (already tried) and my resistance will be down to kind of 12k. I just mean that i can get better survivability on int anyway (coz of the speed) and some little tweak on fighters is maybe needed.
But ABOVE ALL, you r talking about tiger, but what about the other 5 types of fighetrs in game…? I think a very small speed buff on fighters, to grant them a little bit more agility to evade critical situations, could make the game a bit more balanced

My point is, that ALL ships are too close to each other in terms of speed.
Also, dont forget we have 3 factions with different values for speed: Empire = slowest, Fed = fastest, Jerry = in between.
And Im wondering… what is your problem with highend speed on Ints? If 450 (I assume with AB?) is enough for you, you can use heavy armor on it… after the (hopefully) coming buff.

With that laughable speed you cant get fast enough away from slowfields etc. Every Gunship can hold at least pace with it… and with all the speed-mods I installed it is called “Interceptor”, really?!? I mean an Interceptor should be AT LEAST 50m/s faster than ANY fighter you can build.
As result, Fighters can do the Job of Ints, while Ints are rendered to just spectate.
That thing is just broken. I have the Swift-Eagle, it did 695m/s pre patch, now its down to 650m/s.

Well, i think that the most excruciating problem right now is the MM. Why? Yesterday me and my brother were playing and we got really anoyed because we squaded up (2-man squad) with full T3 hangar, and we were being put in matches against T4’s… That not the bad part, the bad part was that the T4’s were all on the enemy team, and MY team had some with T2 ships… and thats not the worst part yet, we had about 3 or 4 combat recon fights straight, and in almost all of them the game chose the T2 most xxxx pilot to be the captain. And when it didnt chose the T2 xxxx, he’d go for a random T3 dude with gunship or another xxxx dude that has an newly bought anaconda or another fed eng frig and some even had better, sturdy or agile ships to use instead of that garbage.
So, as someone there was talking, the MM doesnt make the group balanced and also doesnt evaluate skill.

ok then my covp got 460 speed withou AB and 565 with AB…just to be clear and that’s not too bad…
Don’t really know abot those empire ints but for sure if they are the slowest ones they should be tanky as close as possible to 15-16k hp wich is nearlt the surviability of the tiger wich has nearly the speed of the empire interceptors…this would be balanced to me

Lets talk about other facts. Lowest EHP, Lowest DMG, only a bit faster. Now guess what in Guard-Conflict means more?

The speed will most probably stay the same. Speed nerf was connected with too high speed differences between techs. Now this transition is smoother.
Can only underline what Zap said. While I can cope with the speed differences between tiers and same kind of ships, everything, not just speed, gets better to the next tier.
It does not make sense to make a completely “smooth” transition. Think about maybe adding an energy bonus to max capacitor in percentage to get builds possible with the energy draining engines, and look again at the ships like they are now, because speeds seem to be pretty broken. There was absolutely no problem for T3 reaching 650 with certain ships. There is also no problem, if certain “fast” inties reach the maximum before T5, so you can emphasis the ship build later on survivability, without losing too much speed, or have a better energy household.
This is not ideal atm. - and should not stay as it is. Ceptors are clearly too slow now, and lost most speed in this nerf. It should be a bit rethought, even if we stay at these lower speed levels.

Nonetheless overall DPS increased. According to the statistics and feedback mortar is indeed a bit of ‘OP’.
Don’t forget we are constantly monitoring weapons and modules and balance them should there is a need to do so.
As interceptor pilot and with the nerf on the fed implant to 3 sec speed immunity once I am caught in guard field with mortar I am 350 m/s slowpoke getting pummeled with mortar. Feels like octopus or even worse !
I agree with you, really, i thought it wasnt a real problem with those ranges in frig lasers, i mean, the fighter lasers should stay as they are, but frigs it is insane, doesnt matter where u are, theres always 3 or 4 frigs frying you with lasers, ppl very far from any sensor range.
And i think thats a bad weapon too, i fitted on my eng 9km lasers, i couldnt hit any int that far, and fighters were quite hard to do some real dammage.
Interceptor - Fast(550 to 600+), Fragile, Agile, Good damage, Objectives. Short range (2K)
Fighter - Medium speed (400-550), Decent damage resistance, Decent-high damage. Medium range (3-4K) -> The middle.
Frigate - Slow speed (<300), Huge damage sponge, Decent damage, long range (4-6K, but no xxxxing 13K lasers)
So, you want a paper plane and count on speed to survive - interceptor.
If you want something to tank a lot and just move slow and shoot - frigate.

with 80 base thermal resist (purple thermal insulator) and on full speed with more 39 it still does huge damage.
And no, I am not flying in straight line, but on some maps there is just 1 rock you can hide behind before next one. And with low inti speed and another inti chasing you (or fighter, cause they are as fast now) it is not easy to stay behind cover all the time. And shooting you from literally the other side of the map is just … And it is not Desintegrator, it is continueous damage.
If I had previous speed I could easily evasive maneuvor. But in 13K range I move in 1 way for 1 sec and all he have to do is move his mouse few pixels !
In dogfight 1 sec moves you entire screen for enemy. Shooting you from 13K is just few pixels. And it has no travel or prediction time, so it pops you.
And thats one of the reasons why Recons are that popular atm.: They are the only class, due to Microwarp, that have the possibility to gtfo.
ECM and CovOPs are really rare nowadays.
But ofc. I agree with the rest.
ECM’s are nerfed hard, and CovOps are nerfed a little less hard. Recons the only one left. They’re not OP, it’s that ECM and CovOp are UP.

They need to nerf the feds and boost speeds all around! Interceptors are so slow now. I remember pushing my Spirit to 550m/s, and Eagle-B flying at 700m/s just fine. Now I’m going half that speed! If I do fit my Eagle-B again with gear I have in warehouse I can at least hit 666m/s, but Empire and Jericho at still going to be at least 250m/s slower. That’s the difference of the speed of a fighter.
