Star Conflict OBT v.0.9.8 Discussion

was there Any top t2?

Antibus, i’ve 2 man squadded with my brother with premium T1 ships and we are being matched against T3’s. I admit my T1 prem ships are full purple, but in what world can you imagine a purple T1 ship is a match for even a badly geared Katana T3? It took me and my brother firing at it just to lower a bit it’s shield, and we were both dead (we are not bad players, and the dude was an avarage too.

We are aware of concerns raised by our players regarding this situation, we are looking into ways to improve this.

If you can’t fix by thursday, roll back. Give people their 3-man squads back and we’ll get 4-man squads when the MM can be fixed.

Thank you for your feedback and petition, we will look into it!

antibus pls

Styx  rank  8  (because Engineer is Empire’s secondary Frigate role)

Cerberus  rank  9  (because LRF is Empire’s primary Frigate role)

Prometheus X  rank  9  changed into Gunship (because Gunship is Empire’s primary Fighter role)

Black Swarm  rank  8  (because ECM is Empire’s secondary Interceptor role)

Swarm rank 9  (because Recon is Empire’s primary Interceptor role)

Grim rank   9  (because it’s a DLC/Premium ship, and it should be the only way to have rank 9 Empire ECM)

Phoenix rank   9  (because it’s a DLC/Premium ship, and it should be the only way to have rank 9 Empire Engineer)

Cause, yanno… test server is too hard to test things on.

Hey

Can you say that other MM ideas could be implemented or that you will always stick with this module?

There is many other ways in which you can Match Make players.

A couple of ideas or suggestions.

A ranked MM system : Only matches players that care about there DSR, and is teir locked.

This is a queve for those that want to have there corp battles and stay in there kill squads (only enter if you want to, this is a separate from the normal MM Queue) . BUT squads must be versing another squad of the same size. 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 in any game mode when filled with other players. (this mode is where DSR is counted.

Benefits: Players that want to stay together in the same tier. Players that dont want to fight 2 tiers higher then them. And players that want to play for DSR cause they are forced to fight against another good squad based on the average DSR.

Normal MM Queue: Same system as we have but squads only put you up +/- 1 tier. DSR does not count or limited in some way.

T1 ships shall only verse high end T2 ships. This way everyone has a fighting chance.

Corporation MM: (experimental) This is a normal MM Queue with only one rule. Members of the same Corp can NOT verse each other.

A main concern is to not encourage farming. Make DSR a better way to measure skill. Make it count the number of times you die, get kills or so on. Also the higher the DSR, the larger “bounty” you have. thus a low level DSR player which kills or assists in the destruction of a high level DSR gets a huge boost to rewards and synergy or so on. Making you have higher DSR a risk to you and your teammates.

Take note that these are just suggestions and can be tweaked. Try them out in a test server of 100 people and see how it works. OR make it clear that a new system is gonna be tested for a week, here, and you request user feedback.

The problem with creating separate queues is that matchmaking would require much more time to complete, especially with current low concurrent player count.

I am just curious who the hell thought this was a good idea in the first place? Matching T1 vs T3 JUST because you are in a squad. That is one of the most idiotic things the DEVs have done yet.

Probably the same statistical mixing that got us T5 guards. Because they’re “weak” in T1 and T2.

Same thing seems to be the case here. Since T3 squad can roll over T5 solos, T1 squads are pushed against T3s.

You must be new here.

Things that were more stupid:

Contract system(And the new loyalty system)

Ship tree & ship bonuses

Devs letting old players keep weapons/modules new players don’t have access to(The old players will remember the heavy weapons and nukes in T2 raping everyone)

LMAO I am not new in the least. I will be gone soon if all this BS they call “improvements” doesn’t get fixed ASAP. This game has been going down hill for a while now. I was hoping they would find the brakes, and maybe even Reverse, but that was me being delusional.

T1’s should NEVER face even T2’s, it breakes game balance, For example, a T1 guard like Zealot is fragile, slow and causes enough dammage to frighten ppl away from OTHER T1’s… But it has NO SLOTS to increase its survivability.

But T2 Zealots have a much tougher shield due to the survival slots, heals and other kinds of weapons which makes them MUCH more powerfull.

And since no T1 ships have survivability boosts, and T1 ships have only 1 type of weapon an missile T1’s have a huge disadvantage against its T2’s counterparts with their bubbleguns, EM missiles and other crap that T2 have that T1 doesnt.

But then the MM makes another briliant choice, it sees: Oh, this dude has a hangar full of T2’s purple equipped with a DSR of 128731982739817398172, so, to level things up ill put this other dude who just bought his first T2 gunship, and it is fully fitted to do nothing to enemies, 2 other T1 starter ships and an outstanding DSR of 670.

Thats how stupid is the MM right now, but adding the problem that we are fighting T3’s aswell.

Game is currently in a downward drop in terms of fun factor and player longevity.

I had 5 friends IRL that played it for a while, and now, ALL OF THEM are gone. They got to T3 and then quit.

Correct in every term. But as you said, its the Current MM system that is screwing everything up, never mind the HORDE of other problems currently plaguing this game!

About -300 PPL online compared to last week.

From my die-hard-fan-friends are only 2 online. There is only one ESB squad and they are doing PvE… at prime-time.

Thats quite sad. Did my daily purple-loot and logged off.

I think you did something wrong… your vets are not pleased.

antibus pls

This is what I mean about ship tree updates, although personally I would move the Phobos back to T2 where it belongs (make it a Command and restore the original “Phobos Aura” name), and do the same with every other ship that has crept tiers.

For anyone who is confused at what I mean - all Hercules, Dvergr and Harpy ships should be T1 and only T1. All Dwarfs, Deimos and Hydras are T2, all Swarms, Prometheuses and Cerberuses are T3, etc. This means each Tier has 9 ships (excluding Premium / DLC), of which six are primary class ships and three are secondary class ships.

Ideal balance, logical progression, and ships that you can tell their power level instantly - if you see a Prometheus you know it’s a T3 ship, rather than “well, it’s probably a T3 ship, but it could just as easily be a T4 ship.”

Well, yes, what you say has also it’s sense. Logical progression, not random ships here and there xD

  • 1 - Ive not even managed to scrape enough funds togethet to buy a ship since last weeks patch due to not enjoying the game very much these days. Can’t see me even wanting to progress any further

The worst part is the waiting, we have to wait till thursday to find out if they fixed this crap up. And having a chance to get other things messed up.

And, for what we have seen so far they will correct nothing, but will create other problems to be corrected, until they have 100 players online PEAK then they will close the game and relaunch as Star Grind or some thing and start anoying ppl all over again.

Nah, it’s just that some vets are slow on the uptake. Sadly most of us left weeks ago, or at least went into the “play daily and leave” mode.

Hell, I have four months premium left, and I haven’t really played more than a handful games since two patches ago. And I played actively throughout all the 0.8.x frigate conflict bullcrap on an interceptor.

I guess they just brought frigate conflict back too soon, and most of us didn’t really recover from 0.8.x, so we ended up burned out too fast when the game went full on xxxx in upper tiers again.
