Star Conflict OBT v.0.9.7 Discussion

Really, really support for this…I can’t believe how many times i’ve been focusing on targets like a beacons in domination etc…just to see that i’m the only one trying to get it…While some high DSR players (and ESB among them) just camp somewhere looking for easy kills, trying to not die (OMG OMG this will ruin my DSR…) Remove that stupid DSR form the game pls.

why should esb support those bad non teamplayers ? i remember my old days before a reached my 5000games, i wanted win every game, doesnt matter how, if i go suicide cap np, but now i got around 7400games and i realy dont care about win or lose,

and for example , when you play with pilots from The Corp or just which bad pilots, they just fly and dont even try to help you to win, why should esb try to win this match??? to support this r.etards and give them a win???

and by the way, i see how esb pilots flying, you dont want fly agains tneo, alador, djoylok, zerk  and so on, i dont want to write down all this vicious pilots, i think you got it what i mean

Regardless of the idiots on my team I always try to win. Yeah they get a few free credits if I pull it off, but I get a LOT more than they do because I actually went for Objectives.

Like I said in my previous post I would LOVE for a Hardcore option which is Realistic, with Friendly Fire. Make killing a friendly take away as many points as you get from killing an enemy. Yes this could have griefer, but the few that would be there wouldn’t matter to me. Besides the bad players would probably avoid Hardcore mode anyways. I REALLY want this option. I would leave mine on Hardcore all the time.

I do suspect, you would regret this. I would not mind if Custom Battles can enable FF for some kind of Fetish-Gameplay, but srsly, in pubs? No. There was FF once on AoE Weapons and it was horrible.

I love the EM Torpedo, and most ppl know it. My only problem with guards is, that i can’t EM Torpedo them solo.

Usually, if I proxytorp you in recent battles, it is a good-bye present, congratulating you for killing me, giving you the rest of the damage you need.

I get killed by enemy Octopus way more frequently.

When the mines were taken, because of the christmas-tree effect on beacons, I went straight for Torps on my Fed Engi, because I always loved long range unguided missiles in such games, and in the first weeks, yeah, I killed literally everybody with it, bringing up my Medal count to the extremes. That lasted exactly 2 weeks, until it became standard for Frigates. Then it took another 2 weeks and LRF started to use it too. Another week later, Mass EM Torps disappeared, mines came back on LRF usually, and many frigates switched back to Octopus.

Because people learnt to deal with it.

The only thing keeping a tanky guard unbeatable is it’s engineering support, for sure not it’s torps.

All members please read this and discuss!

Its information about the upcoming mega super ultra uber patch!

You have a point here. Situations like this are very frustrating. Not much you can do at this point as to try your best. If it is really bad I would probably try to stay alive just in sake of the repair bill not just dsr because it is really not worth it lol.

Yes I want this even in PUBs. Trust me that it would scare off most PUGs after a few games of them LOSING money because they killed more friendlies than they did enemies. This would leave the best players in there which is what I want. I want to play the hardest mode with the best players. It kind of sucks right now because I am working on my Empire ships (already have Jericho, and Fed) so I am forced to fly in Tier 2 at the moment which isn’t much of a challenge.

Go T4-5 Meet NASA, NOVA, ESB.

Have no fun.

Problem solved for you.

Working on getting to T4. Doesn’t matter I still want the Hardcore mode I described. Doesn’t matter what you say this is what “I” want. I don’t care if you want it or not.

DSR is actually not a problem. DSR display in the battle tab is.

It would be enough if the Rating would simply state their threat level: High (>=1200), Medium (800-1199), Low (<800)

This would encourage people to get to high, but it would not encourage them to amass numbers above 1300 just to show off. While others, who still care, would still be able to point to their profile and say “Well, my high is 1800, puny little 1500 DSR nab”, if they do like this sort of thinking.

A debug setting to “show raw dsr”, which is by default turned off, could enable people to see it again as a number, but it would mean, only their “achiever friends” would see it. I never judge by DSR, except I don’t know the pilot yet, then I just “raise my hopes” he is better. I cannot stand people who are too afraid to go into a hot situation because of their DSR, even if it is clear, it would be necessary to sacrifice some ships to break a blockade or similar.

A broken Morale is the exception, that happens to everybody once in a while.

I really like this Idea. +1

A slight adjustment: High (>= 1300) Medium (1299-1000), Low(<1000)

I think this reflects the “reality” a bit better.

Just remove DSR full stop - replace with K/D ratio ?

Actually K/D ratio isnt visible atm IIRC. It would be the same: Dont die, do nothing, rape loners.

W/L Ratio maybe. Its quite a strong indicator… unless you go smurfing… Maybe a “weekly” W/L Ratio, to get a better Idea of your actual performance.

We already have a win / loss ratio - but this isnt really an accurate reflection on a players skill - As the crap match making sticks me on the full xxxx team 80% of the time due to my DSR

I know  .

Remove DSR from MM calculation. Do a “weekly” W/L ratio instead. Inaccuracy solved.

With weekly i mean that you dont show your overall W/L ratio, instead how many W/Ls you had the last week.

Btw. Dont use a Win/Battles Formula. There are better ones to even things out.

Hm, might be. Lets say 1250? Heh. Because actually, that really depends on the squad you are with. And especially in your case, because a Zap never comes alone and usually your wingman has as high of a reputation as yourself. You cannot explain the terror (and excitement) I felt when you were flying pairs with Kipps last time.

Low should really indicate low however, so 1000 is a bit too harsh. 1000 seems to represent average, it’s also the number you get dealt if you start.

But I think, devs could simply use statistics to figure out the right boundaries, I just made -200/+200.

If you don’t think about DSR farming and fly solo, my experience is, that >1200 is a hard mark, while in a squad, 1300 seems more right, I would still actually try to eliminate the DSR as being a fancy dress party, so 1200 seems more rational to me. Somebody who has hard times landing in top 5 every game will find 1200 hard enough to keep. But actually, the plan is, that above 1200 they should not care anymore, just play, and not be ashamed to make objectives and be first place with only assists.

How is this going to solve the MM issues? There are plenty of times I have been on a crap team where myself, and maybe one other person are doing all the work. If the other team is halfway organized we will probably lose those matches, and so the w/l doesn’t depict my effort…just that I was on a crappy team.

All stats should be squad-less.

If you’re in squad, DSR (and other stats) are not increased/decreased

And yes to hiding actual DSR, and just giving textual representation.

Stats should be ship related; One player can be godlike in interceptors, but poor in frigates. Flying in ship with full synergy VS flying with totally new ship you just bought.

Lot of variables to account for.

In low tiers its easy to be a solo-hero.

Since many Players watch for their IG-Reputation aka. DSR, they will go more after objectives, right?

@g4borg: I remember that match. I like seeing guys from the forums. And the Owls did well. How did you recon I was squadding up with Kipps?  ;)wt  Too bad that I was the most time of the match occupied to duke it out with an old enemy.

Everyone knows I carry you through all the battles we partake in

ESB hacker NASA chicken…

you nawb?   you know… Kipps is quite similar to Kif…
