Lag in this game seems to be a function of relative latencies (yours plus your opponent’s) in addition to server load and simply luck. I can show you examples stop motion lag during a stable ping of 18 ms and no packet loss.
That describes the problem im most afflicted with as of right now.
My inties woble like a drunk motherf… even my frigates do that!!
Enemy players aswell as alied players seems to teleport across the map, one sec im maiming him, the other one he is at my back and i lost all shield and 80% of the hull.
The aiming mechanism im begining to get used to (when it is not laggy) but positron cannon has become useless, only using pulse lasers on intyes and mortars on frigs. (dont play with fighters).
And Ales please stop posting, basically you are saying that only people with 20ms latency can play this game, and those who have a higher latency are considered trash to you, and those who cant land a hit because of lagg isnt a good player… So basically, rubish.
And about your last post, arma can be played, it is extremely realistic, even with the Dayz mod. Since it is not an happy trigger fast paced game like SC or team fortress. And even there, since u gotta watch everything around you, make use of cover, and you dont move at 700m/s, a trained sniper can get a shot at 1km right between your eyes with 300ms latency, cause there, it is not a latency based game, it is a strategic game, a tactical game, a skill game, since you have to consider ballistics, even wind. Not the interceptor fest that is SC.
No, I was shooting at stationary bots from different directions and distances a few times before I decided that it wasn’t worth it after seeing shrapnel go through the model every time except one where it did ding it for about 1/3 of one bot’s health, and just fired a rocket.

I have the same issue. Hits visibly connect, but the drones play dumb and pretend they weren’t hit, and when they finally do get hit, it scratches them and you have to go through it all over again.
That would have been downright stupid, as it would mean you ignored the fact that I had no problems clearing them with rockets. It’s just that shrapnel will simply not connect with them for some reason. It visibly goes through the model.
I’ve used shrapnel to kill drones, they’re one of the better weapons for doing so. By better, I mean reasonably possible.
That’s no argument since unlike mortars, rockets do proximity fuse on drones. I have no problem killing stationary drones with shrapnel, if you are close enough it even one-shots them.
I can hit them with coil mortar in a few shots from around 300m. The mortars really should explode when you actually have a lock onto the target.
Bullshit. Best way is to have a hostile interceptor fly near the drones and then you shoot the inty!
:bomber:
Now you got it right!
Btw I just now had the bad idea to try and play a quick game, was so laggy I was unable to hit a thing with shrapnel, was even missing frigates 150m in front of me with rockets. So I maintain my original assertion that fixing lag is the solution to everything.
pssh, Jerichos LRF! That is the original purpose of it, you all use it wrong!

Indeed. You heard the man devs. Get to fixing laws of physics!
Stop trolling with that. You are too intelligent not to understand that latency can be compensated in any number of ways, in particular when it’s not the latency of my own connection.
Got 5 games in a row yesterday evening with at most 4 players on either side, waiting over 4 minutes each. 2 were 2on2s with bots, 2 real 3on3s and 1 4on4. So EU primetime T3 is the new T4 - dead.

People have had enough of the bad gaming experience. That’s why the game is slowly dying…

I was playing T4 at the same time and there were large scale games all the time. Perhaps T2 heroes stayed at T2, and T3 heroes moved up to T4, making T3 something of a drop out?

Typically happens when people select a specific server, which seems somewhat broken. Instead of building a session for their preferred server from the “Any” pool it seems to queue them separately. But eventually they time out and then it pulls some poor soul from the “Any” queue into their battle regardless (if necessary) and fills the rest with bots. That happened before the patch as well already.
