Star Conflict OBT v.0.9.6 Discussion

Vid of the 3 minute dogfight… I think I like it because Federation just got a massive boost if everyone sucked at shooting. Remember that this affects EVERYBODY so the patch didn’t specifically targeted anyone in particular and destroyed their game. Everyone is missing alot of their their shots now.

Unless ofcourse if you truly pro-aimed before then you are unaffected.

Me, I’m missing 4/5 of my shots due to muscle memory insisting on putting crosshair over lead reticle. Things will start getting better once I remember to over-estimate angled shots again i’m sure. Personally, I like how things are now. Now it pays off to actually dodge

CD on AMS was 12 seconds T3. Should be the same across all tiers IIRC.

EVE over the asteroids? I know it is EVE music behind there atleast!

I will try to get back to you with this.

As I promised, going back to your question.

The answer is quite definite - no, we do not allow the modification of game files however harmless goal you think you’re trying to achieve.

But, there is one more thing: the reticule color, that turned red was a result of mistake, we are going to fix this.

I know for a fact that I sucked for about an hour after the patch as I had to override quite a bit of muscle memory and apparently remind myself that I actually can aim when I need to. Luckily I play several other shooters in addition to this game, so adaptation period was short.

Cruising now. Haven’t tried gauss again, but positron works fine for me on LFRs, though I did notice that I hit things with less barrels now (smaller numbers). Not getting your aim autocorrected no longer gets those “center aim so that 0.3deg minimum spread hits with all barrels” even when I’m aiming at the side of the ship - some shots miss as they should. On the bright side positron is now awesome at hitting partially hidden targets, like engineers that are half-hidden behind their barrier. Before the patch, your shot was autoaimed at the center of the said engineer and hit the barrier. Now you can actually hit the engineer. Loving it.

I guess some people take longer than me to adapt. My advice is to grit your teeth and bear it while you remind your hands and your brain that you don’t suck and know how to aim without aimbot.

The obvious followup question: if you can change the reticule color, could you change it to something that stands out? Such as neon green, or similar color? Or pehaps adjust it based on the map background so it’s guaranteed to stand out?

Right now, red suffers from greater degree of the same problem that old white one suffered from: it gets lost in the action. We really want a reticule that would stay visible even in a big firefight and/or against background of similar color.

Lead reticle colour is irrelevant. No point to try and make them stand out in-fact coz that’s not where you should be aiming anyways.

Dev missed the point - our request was to make the AIMING CROSSHAIR stand out, not lead reticle.

Strange. I want leading reticule. Aiming crosshair is fine, as I’m controlling it, so I’m always aware of its location.

o.0 ?

well okay do both but I lose my own crosshair coz I have my eyes on target not where my gun is pointing

that’s like looking at the club when taking your golf swing, people have their eyes on the ball not on the instrument.

The reticle on that other thread was a heck of a lot better. That green stands out in the darkest pits of hell and the black outline keeps it visible in very bright areas. That NEEDS to be added. Either that, or I’ll find a way to edit mine out. Getting sick of UI changes not going forth because :effort:

Actually, the club is your aiming reticule. It’s the one you’re guiding with your hands, and the one you’re always aware of, so you don’t need to be looking at it.

Leading reticule on the other hand is connected to actions of other player, and as a result needs to be followed with your eyes.

In some dogfights it is actually quite easy to lose track of the weapon aim, not always, but i’ve had a few, especially when getting hit by missiles that block out half my screen it is easy to lose track of it.

The aiming(lead) reticule is easier to find back usually since you just have to look at your target. The easiest way to find the weapon aim back is to fire it, but depending on what weapon you have, that may be quite hard.

lol that’s what i meant …? sorry bad englisj :stuck_out_tongue:

I have definitely seen a drop in accuracy in this patch, and others have reported the same. It feels like the lead reticule is less accurate now…

After playing yet a few more matches i can say the following:

Aim assistance works if your ping is not much higher than 20.

If its above, it screws you and you will miss close to any shot if your not at point blank range.

So, there are 2 solutions to this problem: 1st: Give back ´ol Autoaim, or 2nd: Get better Servers to fix the lag.

From what I´ve experienced so far, I dont care which of these options you choose but at least make it FAIR for all players.

Pff… as If we didnt have balance issues enough.

It’s lag,

easier to see on the Gauss sniper but it affects all the other guns too.

You know it’s bad when …

Bots top the scoreboard lmao

Actually I want both aiming reticle and lead indicator to stand out. Ideally with a colour slider in the options and a toggle to make them thicker.

Last night I had about a fifteen second hang in the client.  The windows cursor was spinning even.  I shouldn’t have bothered rejoining the battle since my guards shields where gone when I returned.  I’ve played with 160ms ping for a while, even interceptors.  But there’s one thing that I have to say right now.

FIX THE LAG!

You are welcome to use my sig if you want.

You know, I think we should remember 1 thing when bashing the devs:

It might be the publishers who are xxxx up the game, not the devs.

The publishers are probaly making the devs do stuff they don’t want to (yet) just because they want to make money.

Lag issues would be the devs, game mechanics and GS costs could be publishers.
