Huh… So, if the mods increase RoF, they don’t increase/decrease overheat times? Cause that (Y+Z) is still 12 on the 10% mod case.
they do… i posted the correct method. the problem is the in-game DPS reported in the info dialog doesn’t take overheat/cooldown into account, so it just reports 10% higher DPS.
Forced to play at high hours in the night 3 to 5 am to avoid the lag because it’s impossible otherwise.
I just survive with crappy 3v3 matches in T3 and unable to find any awake corp member… The level of the pilots at that hours is… meh, at least my dsr keeps growing.
nope… i still cannot see the bomb when it is out of range and the enemy has it…
That’s the idea!! That’s exactly how it’s intended to be. If the bomb is out of friendly sensors, why should you be able to see it? “Oh, because it’s not a good game otherwise” No, that’s exactly why it IS a good game. It favours stealth, rather than obviousness.
Of Course you can not, because it is fixed, seeing a bomb was a bug.
uh… if that’s a bug then there’s seriously no hope… hiding the bomb or carrying it off the edge of the map and then attacking a beacon from behind are some of the lamest ‘tactics’ ever devised.
Antibus, why don’t you include into DPS number calculation (shown in a Weapon info) Crits and Crit dmg multiplier, those affect your final number by a lot and you do have your crit value displayed on a weapon tab anyways.

Have not tried overdrive yet, but it would be fair if that would be also buffed by issuing an admirality order to retro-fit cooling infusion into the overdrive systems. Otherwise it does sound like an incredible Gunship nerf.
I think also the cooldown state is overdriven, isn’t it?
So, in case of 10% RoF increase 10 secs turn to 9, thus it becomes 9/11 in the calculations. It is still in a ~10% range.
I cannot unread what I just read.

Lame or not, it is valid. Boosting your sensor range on a scouting ship might do wonders. It is also sometimes pretty predictable and has a high fail rate.

I tend to disagree… as this is a game… you may think is is lame … but if thier tactics are working no matter how devious… well adjustments have to be considered.
No different then one side grabbing all the bombs and running back behind thier lines … now you are forced to make that decisive push to grab it back…
You spend less time dealing the same amount of damage.
Indeed, your DPS is still higher
yea, actually it is higher… my problem was i interpreted the limits backwards, and divided instead of multiplying.
DPS = DH / (H/R+C)
when R increases (rate of fire), the denominator gets smaller, so DPS increases.
but the effect is small, since not many guns have 10 sec overheat, 2 sec cooldown.
only lasers have such differences.
all other guns have 20-30%, up to 50% cooldown time vs overheat.
ie: purple gauss and purple iridium sink
DPS = DH / (H/R+C)
DPS = 1045(7) / (7/1.083+2)
DPS = 7315 / 8.46
DPS = 864.66
vs no iridium sink
DPS = DH / (H/R+C)
DPS = 1045(7) / (7/1+2)
DPS = 7315 / (9)
DPS = 812.77
therefore (864.66 - 812.77) / 812.77 = 0.0638… or 6.38% more DPS. on some guns it’ll be even lower… ie: pulse lasers, singularity etc… about 5% or less DPS boost. (nevermind it’s not even viable on pulse lasers), for other guns like heavy barrels it will make more of a difference.
there is a difference… obviously… you can see the bomb…
furthermore, it is the lamest game mode in existence.
and 1 unit scouting on the flank cannot prevent a bomb plant in most cases…
plus, you may want to explain to me why i have to scout the bomb each time, because my team will not… is that lame? sure is…
plus, good luck finding the bomb if it’s hiding behind a rock way back in their base somewhere…
lots of maps have so much coverage you cannot possibly scout it all.
This goes to the whole concept\focus that in certain Game modes it may be more Team Oriented ?
When you have random players lumped on one side and unfortuantly a few may be interested in just doing the PEW PEW at the opposing team and on the otherside you have players that work as a team understanding the objectives are… well it doesn’t make the game lame…

so what happens when you have a 4v4? you don’t have enough men to scout… what then?
it’s not just random… you can completely hide the bomb… period… then all the enemy can do is guess…
and if you stretch too many forces to scout, you leave yourself open to having your beacons destroyed…
good game.
trust me… if it looks like dung and smells like dung, it probably is dung…
maps are too large and have too many places to hide for this to be considered a viable mechanic… ridiculous…
am i? all i said was that invisible bombs are lame… and this happened… i never meant to own anyone. if anything they’re owning themselves :\
i mean, half the time people aren’t even aware there is a second bomb on the field because it’s invisible… so the logical course of action is to forget it ever existed… ;o
He has no business in posting on this forum! He knows precisely jack d*** about any kind of game mechanics and yet has the audacity to continue posting as if he’s some sort of f***ing expert. This is what pisses me off about him.
He’s a self-confessed troll, and he’s good at it because you guys keep biting like starved piranhas.
