A gunship with bubble gun could probably cause trouble to a ceptor with shrapnel or lasgun but in any case the interceptor can disengage so yeah it’s not really effective.
True and true. Overdriving gunships are a risk but if you wait until they’ve blown their load they’re just an easy target really.
duno why i bother… i loved grinding pve but havent gotten a epix in months,i think the pve is the closest to a MMO you are ever gona get,thats kinda sad. now u are getting greety with loot again nerfing to one epix per day?! so now i just have to do one pve battel per day. this is turning into a oneday one match game were i just log in do one pve get my “loot” then log out again, why would i waste time when i know only one pice of good loot is w8ing… dont you see how silly this is.you keep nerfing lootNdrops ships gets nerf/buff ervy month… i predict that its gona be like warthunder with 0 options for guns only pre fixed options u turne on/off i was loving the free custum posebiletes in this game but u keep changen this for the worse. its when players can have to much fun with out spending real monies, not the other way around. that u have a god game, you fail to see that and change stuff in the name of greed…
This game is now own by newbie loosers people who love to fly very slow ships and spend all game time under an asteroid trying to aim others ship at 4000 meters distance.
Basically it is now more boring than World of tanks itself. Don’t take me wrong, it’s not you can’t fly interceptors … you can. You can olso score 8 ~ 10 kills per match without die if you fly in a cleaver way… point is you are not playing the game… you are just going here and there looking for some dumbass left his main group.
In the end that’s boring too…
You have these options: join the Frigfest (very boring) play some fighter set for 4k+ meters range and try to snipe some other fighter or interceptors (super boring) , fly inties staying outsde main battle (boring too and bad for your team) … or offcourse try to play an inties or a fighter propely and be killed 13243252 times per match.
Everything is boring… this game is now BORING.
I miss the time when it was pure action… when as an interceptor poilot you can really make the difference… when you fly skill was really important… ah… sweet old times…

I think it’s really the guards that are bogging down the gameplay right now. The mass engine inhibitor and the pulsar really prevent the fighters and the interceptors from getting too close to a frig ball. Perhaps if the guard modules were on a squishier ship they could be quickly assassinated by stealth ships and the frig ball would be easier to take out by unorganized teams. Would that make sense if the commands had the guard modules and vice versa ?

I can still play for objectives just fine as an interceptor in T3/T4. Last game I played earlier was detonation. Enemy frig balled with a sprinkling of cov ops while I blew up stations. The only frigates that really deny me are Jericho LRF.
And when did skill stop being important? On the contrary, I’d say flight skill has become more important with every new patch that nerfed interceptors and buffed frigates.

Fair enough. I can imagine at least the T5 implant situation makes it very hard for interceptors. One more reason to stay out of that tier for now I guess.

Fighters were OP at 0.9.0 before the frigate buffs and singularity nerf. Now they’re just meh all around. Except tacklers, they have no real purpose in any composition.
Also, from what I can see in game, T3 and below Intys are “OP” because they all hover between 6k and 9k survivability rating, while frigs are at around 30-40k. In T4+ Intys barely break 12k while frigs (empire engis and jericho guards specially) can easily go into 60k. This lack of scaling is what makes interceptors useless vs frig balls.

Can’t confirm those numbers.
My rank 8 recon was buffed to 12.5k survivability since 0.9.4 which is more than my not max synergy Tackler in the same tier currently has. If it was me I’d nerf the interceptor down again because that balance makes no sense.
My T3 engineer was nerfed to 60k. Don’t have the credits yet to re-outfit my T3 guard so can’t say for that one.
IMHO the problem are not the HP though but that frigates have such excellent AOE point defense capabilities. The fundamental idea of 0.9.0 was to give frigates slow turrets to be weak against interceptors. Good idea! What we really have, however, is AOE coil mortar, infinite attack drones, instant aim anywhere EM torpedoes and, in T5, basically perma pulsar.
That’s the issue, not the HP. Frigates need the HP, it’s their role after all. What they don’t need is to be strong against everything though. Rock paper scissors.

He might reach max speed in his next game, and then he will just roll over everything all the way into enemy spawn :))) will take another game to stop though :)))
