Star Conflict OBT v.0.9.1X ( Hypothetical) HUD update

Rocket issue: there are many times when 2 enemy squads fight face to face (frigballs most of the time). The ability to identify missile types would help in tanking. If i have 0 kinetic resistance i’ll try to use cover every time i see one of those fired at me. If i have 200 i won’t bother taking cover and keep firing at them. That’s the simplest example. This is partly related to why there are so many guard players out there who have no idea what to do with the Phase Shield. And more. The better pilots will try to adapt to these situations and use that knowledge in their favor unlike others who don’t see it as an issue.

Indeed. And it’ll be good if we can see the incoming damage numbers on the side of the HUD again. (I’m pretty sure that wasn’t working as intended.)

Aircraftman thingy: that’s not his name, that’s some random title given by the forum.

I’m sorry for laughing, but I cannot help myself.

Remember that in the 40th millenium people will pray their tanks and guns so they can shoot…

Just the other day, I had a match in the Abandoned Outpost map and there were some accidents when people went through the warp gate. Alas, the perils of the warp are very real.

They REALLY aren’t, nowadays. You actually see a LOT more Death Squads throughout the game than Frigballs, considering how scarily effective they are…

Frigs are rare these days. LRFs usually outnumber guards + engies combined. That’s what I usually see in T3.

In T2, I see that all the time. But a well organized group of LRFs can actually win you the match, unlike the half dozen nitwits that spawned in LRFs and just sit there doing nothing. Their F-key (both of them) is just about the most useless thing, nowadays. Just strap guns on it, get tanky as a **** and storm the beacons in the front lines. You’re MORE effective that way.

Id also like to see a better ping for the arrows (ships which are not in your LOS)

^ this. You can’t imagine the amount of time I waste just turning my ship 180º and SEARCHING the name of the guy someone tagged.

hadn’t thought about the people that just sit there and not really move around much… i guess that would be helpful for them but then again its also kinda babying them.

sorry Aidenxu, i meant to say i agreed with you but i copied the wrong part B^P

There are people who fly almost immobile frigates. Besides, even if we recognize the missiles coming our way we might not even have enough time to get our frigs to safety.

Added smoke and fire effects to represent hull damage.

As long as it doesnt effect your field of sight…

I HATE the Monitor effect when you get close to the anomaly!!!

That’s actually pretty cool. What I DO hate is explosions f***ing ERRYWHERE that BLOCK 100% of my screen! I can’t see d**** when Coil Mortars, Missiles and god knows what else starts exploding everywhere around me, much less see where it’s all coming from!

You could do that by scratches in the hull, but plz no smoke/fire.

Sniper Mode would be pretty broken then.

My sugestion about rockets and missiles:

-Pierce rochets/missile: No more area damage(obvius) ignore a certain kinect res(only ro rockets)

-Plasma rokets/missile: stop the enemy shield regen briefly. Have small explosion radius for missile and no explosion radios for rockets.

-Thermal rochets/missile: Have a improved explosion radius. all ships afected by the explosion receive a damage over time( low) due the heat generated(this feature is only for missiles)

It would help those who spend some time for theory crafting to analize the meta better and fit ships accordingly.

What? Not a single Up vote for this HUD update? you people are mean…

Are you saying you WANT me to bring my styx out of retirement?  my BEST ship?
