A small, yet important offtop:

Haaaaa, the joy of using the mortar again without the Projectile speed implant :smiley:

I think the new efficiency system would be better if u cap the minimum amount of ppts u get for a kill to 50ppts and a dmg assist to 40ppts.

That way, you still get more points if you dealt the majority of the dmg.

Getting anything less than that just make you feel unrewarded for your effort and discourage the important act of focus firing.

I like this patch, seems good. 

 

I have some concerns though. 

 

  1. Voting system could be exploited, it needs to have a balance. Players could troll others based on the sole fact that they dont like someone, regardless of skill. 

 

  1. Frigate balls are back now because of the engineer changes, as interceptors would be kinda useless against them.

I have some concerns though.

Beware, now that weapon ranges have been nerfed, intys with good pilots all they need to do is just get close and “Pop” you out of the sky. Lol. 

In fact, dedicated gauss snipers will be more deadly for inties. And nobody used beam cannons. The only thing which will suffer is Ion emmiter gunships, because thank to horizon and flats, could get up to 7 km in range, with 5 km optimal. With overdrive and overcharge, that was just point and kill.

Just an observation for the new synergy system.
So I was grinding my command at secret shipyard, and all I have to do is turn on my resist mods and sit down somewhere comfortably.  Why? Because the system still prioritises damage assist to buff assist, but with the current mechanics for damage I get % of dmg done/10 in efficiency points (somewhere 2-5), whilst with buffs I still get flat 10.
> I doesn’t encourage me to shoot enemies (no even the boss - srsly, WHEN WILL you change this one? the boss isn’t a normal enemy…) because everyone else has higher dps.

> I haven’t tested yet, but I have the same concerns with pvp.  Flat 60 for only buffs, or risking to get only 20-40 because I helped MORE?  I wouldn’t make such a big deal out of it if it weren’t directly affecting synergy gain, which is already a pain in the xxxx to do at higher tiers until you catch up to those with full premium roster (yes it DOES make a huge difference)

Otherwise I welcome the patch itself (especially the CEO assistant, we really needed that, I lost 2 corp just because the CEO went inactive and we couldn’t get him back to pass on the status).
I think the AssRail buff was totally not necessary, it was a good weap already.
And plus one to whoever said that the main problem with Hailstorm Plamsa (… positron cannon, sorry.) is the charge damage.  But I won’t complain, I’m having great times hitting 5k-s around without crit.

Indeed. Since the latter die so easily, that I think about taking a break from Ints. 

 

All in all, its yet a Ace-friendly nerf again. 

So, when did the devs decide to make this space shooter into a point and click game?

Aside from when I play in squad, all my ships are self sufficient and have eiter repair modules or regen coating. So for me is not a change. In fact, this will be great, since trying to solo dogfight an enemy ceptor or fighter in engi aura was just impossible. Now with recon drones and the reduction in repair rate, it is a whole 75% less healing than before.

As I said above, there needs to be minimum amount you get for kills and dmg assists.

Same problem in PVE with my engie

meanwhile tested in pvp:

yes the same goes for command, engi and even ecm.  for pretty much any ship besides gunship and co.

so basically the easiest classes are the easiest to grind. *shrug*
