Devs, seriously, I know you want to test this stuff, but your approach has been way to divisive. People like Soldiers feel insulted and pissed off because of your pricing model, people like me just want the damn stuff live so we can buy our colour schemes and rock out.
This middle ground isn’t helping anyone. Too few people are willing to test the system that’ll cost them real money, so you won’t get meaningful feeback. A few might even decide this is the last nail in the coffin and walk away - something this game just cannot support. We’ve all seen wait times for games increase and game sizes shrink… even T2 won’t escape it forever.
Throw us a bone here. Give us permanent paint schemes and work out how to refund people if you have to take them away. More work your end, but more satisfaction our end.
Also, fix your damn sales model and give us Pirate ships for Gold Standards.
All my permanent stickers, on 3 different ships, which I purchased long before this patch, were deleted with this patch, I was not reimbursed, WTF GAIJIN ?!
Ignore me when I laugh my xxxx off that even the patch notes are wrong.
Also, what is the range on the healing of the drones? The patch notes are really annoying since you say “reduced by 60%” but I’d like to actually know the stats.
Really though I doubt the problem lies with the devs. They just code and make stuff look pretty. What really needs to happen is that Gaijin needs to take a relook at their entire revenue strategy. Star Conflict is a great game with a lot of potential. I think their placing way too much focus on short term goals rather than long term growth. Player volume is key to success in a game like this. It may be counter intuitive to make your prices low and give out freebies, but in return you get player base. Once you start ramping up the player base, thats when the real money making potential kicks in.
Another words, offer these garbage cosmetics for a low price or even free to keep your players happy and invite more to play. Then, later down the road when you have millions of users, release some rainbow colored nyan cat exhaust trail for 20 bucks and wait for the money to come raining down.
EDIT: I also wanted to point out that player volume is exactly what you need to solve a number of problems that exist within the game right now. The integrated tier system would work just fine if you had 1000 players queuing with ships in lower, middle, and upper parts of every tier, the match ups would start to get a LOT more balanced.
Just got back from checking out the new update and I just have one thing to say.
ARE YOU FRAKKING MENTAL?
Seriously. Stickers and the new paint system are not only no longer perm’able, but they also are exclusively Gold Standard now?!? Who in their right mind is going to pay 24 Standards on three separate colors that only last 24 hours?
When I and others said that people will pay for pretty, this is NOT what we meant! I am not willing to pay $5 a week just to keep my ships colored! You had it right the first time with the stickers. Gold Standards should make things permanent!
I just bought your overpriced Jolly Roger pack for $49.99. Biggest mistake of my life. You’re not getting any more of my money, period. I don’t care if I can paint my ships pony-xxxx pink for 4GS a month. If I sink currency that I paid cash for, it had better darn well be permanent.
This is NOT how you test a feature, and it sure as heck isn’t how to get your dwindling playerbase back.
And it certainly isn’t how you run a Beta and expect to survive.
Well, there’s a suggestion forum. Why not add some ideas for the marketing team to look at? As in - complete and well-rounded ideas that will have a good chance of success?

I think there are limits to even suggestions, that REALLY isnt the job of the customer, Gaijin should get the idea by now what people are looking, who knows what exactly is going on behind those curtains of theirs.
Got to echo the above from Codebot. I try to get my friends back online and they give me a dozen reasons why they have no desire to come back to Star Conflict… and I can’t give them any counters.
At least now I can say “well, we can fly together…” but that should be a given. They are my friends and friends play together. It’s not a selling point.
Here’s like… five ideas off the top of my head. Just throwing them out there:
1 - Welcome Back Scheme!
My friends haven’t played in weeks, if not months. If I convince them to log back in, drop a huge wad of cash into their laps. Like… one of my friends flies a Machete type S. He’d probably be earning 50-60K a match, maybe even 70K… so drop half a million into his account. That’s 10 matches worth of income - even if he’d played one match a day he’d have earned 2-3 times that.
2 - Free cosmetics
Give some customisation options away for free. Even if it’s just 3-4 stickers and 1-2 colours. Give them away to everyone, for free, forever. People like customising stuff, so maybe it’d make them feel more invested in their ships and stay longer?
3 - Mission Choice
Maybe people leave because they are pissed off at Detonation coming up all the time, or they just want to play a Deathmatch style fight so favour Combat Recon?
4 - Map Choice
Same but with maps.
5 - Tiers.
Tiers SHOULD NEVER BE MIXED AT ALL!
There. First five things that came to my head when I tried to think “what might bring people back?” Pretty sure half of this stuff could be implemented in 24 hours tops.
Well, there are plenty that have been implemented in other games. I really think we should just highlight them in neon and stick massive arrows pointing at them just to get the point across.

I actually don’t get anything but realistic right now…Arcade seems to be hiding in Sector Conquest…
And the cosmetics…
The old system was good,
credits for 24 hour/week options, GS for permanent. and DLC for a few always-free-permanents.
What they need is an overall look at the whole game, and an effective process of research, design, and development in both game mechanic and marketing. Maybe change the CEO will help.

We are currently working on improving the game for new and ol players.
For this reason we added the daily reward and improved the tutorial a lot.
I am sure there will more improvements into this direction.
2.The customization was just added and is not finished. I will talk to the devs about some free stuff and also ask them if it is possible to get 24h paintings for credits once the permanent paintings get released. But I cannot promise any change at the moment.
3./4. This has been forwarded and is under discussion.
There’s a dev just watching this thread and not saying anything…
You know what the worst part of that is? The marketing guy standing behind that dev is shaking his head, saying “Yanno… this is your fault, laddy…” when, in reality, it’s HIS fault, not the dev’s.

I’d agree to this, but idk. It might be good, though, no other game, that I know of, gives this advantage to the player coming back (except an achievement on Dead Island for returning 28 days later). So I guess having a physical reward might be enticing to old players that left.
*Edited*
Again, Custom Battle.
Tru dat. To make it more balanced, players should be pitted against eachother according to Tier and DRS. Makes the field a lot more competitive.

Why don’t we just throw out StarConflict and start over while we’re at it. lol…
Gaijin isn’t really doing that poorly in terms of game development. This game is good, and only seems to be getting better, at least during the time I’ve been around. I don’t know anything about their company structure, and whats really going on behind the scenes, but a simple shift in mentality could produce large results.
Make 500 people pay $20 for something or get 2000 people to pay 10 or even 7. Software products do not require extra materials to produce unlike something like a chair. In our firm (Just an employee, but still) we reduced our pricing in order to increase volume of clients. And since it does not require tech support we almost doubled our total revenue and quadrippled our clients.
Not telling you how to run your company, just saying that if for example the prices were half I wouldnt spend $50 on a pack, but most likely end up buying few packs for total of $80.
