Star Conflict OBT v. 0.8.5 Discussion

Large like Dreadnought-large ?!?!?

Yesterday I went up against a guy with 2000… I’m wary but it seemed a bit suspicious…

Nothing suspicious about it. There are several people in the game that I know of that are playing to build up that rating. It usually involves long range sniping with stab rails from command ships or gunships under cover of their squad.

lol, dying once in T1 match, equals about 50 points loss to your DSR, for me that is

I often lose 15 points or more per death in T3 dying to random mines/pulsars. A lot of these people are around 1.1k and couldn’t hit me with their main guns if their lives depended on it.

Ā

I rarely die to other things, people just don’t know how to shoot their main guns any more. Or people who did know this left. Heck, I know almost all people I need to watch out for because I know they will actually be able to hit me by names at this point.

Ā

Rather sad how few oldies from times when interceptors could push ~800m/s are still left in the game.

I actually know everyone by name to stay away from. Though the good people are usually in NASA so we cool.Ā

Usually NOVA, ESB, some from DR and SYN are the ones I’m wary about.Ā

I actually got a few NOVA kills the other day, but they were rushing the cap and I had assistance.Ā  The main personalities I remember are some from ESB.

Ā

FoBo and my team one time pissed me off.Ā  Combat recon with him as captain in an ECM, as the enemy.Ā  His whole team came in to near our spawn sight.Ā  It seemed like only a few on my team really tried to go after the captain in combat range!Ā  Even if it was FoBo on an ESB squad, you can believe I died several times trying to get my team to win.Ā  We lost, he lived.Ā  What pissed me off is he was cocky about it and won and it seemed like too much of my team ignored him.Ā  There are others I remember the names of, but that moment stands out.

Ā

Maybe my timeclock lines up better with ESB than the other corps somehow, because I mainly remember ESB people, but still.Ā  I remember in one match someone typed out ā€œeyes on xxxx.ā€Ā  I replied ā€œEyes on everyone ESB.ā€

FoBo isn’t all that good. He just stacks survivability (specifically resists) and tends to stick to his engineer. You need to play against him accordingly (lure him out and alpha strike). Here’s a screenshot from yesterday:

The best squads I’ve seen around are:

Ā

ESB, NASA, NOVA, SPIN, SYN,Ā

Though it is heavily depandent on who is in the squad…some of their squads are herptyderp

I demand you PM me telling me exactly how you’ve done that to the ECM.

Me too, although I’ve seen he’s wiped out his speed.Ā  I once tried tanking up an interceptor, but I didn’t like the feel.

Ā

I know he may not be the best but pronounceable names make him more memorable also, honestly.Ā  That match was weeks ago before the engineer nerfs and you’d have to hit an interceptor hard and fast to take one out if it had engineers in range.

Stacking resists & Ā gluing to your engie doesn’t make you a good player. It’s whatever opportunities you have to get kills around you and returning to the Engies whenever you need a heal.

ESB: Rare. Most of them just have purple gear to back their talk up. That’s about it.

NASA: Definitely. If I see a NASA squad in T3, my immediately reaction is ā€œWell. We’re boned.ā€

SPIN: Never saw them once. Did not knew they existed until you typed that down.

SYN: Some. They do have good players and good squads when they’re focused. Otherwise, they do what I do, derp around the map and end up having top scores.

Ā

I’m seriously considering doing jack xxxx in matches. It’s in those times I usually get in the top 3.

Purple resists and armor buffer. He killed his speed, though, which is very pathetic.

Ā

SPIN is mostly T2 I believe…I rarely see them in T3.

Thye got 1 squad when I was coming up into T2, that was insane…The most rememerable name from them is HASS, his inty skills are very good and I hated it for him.

Ā

Also, who let the devs out of their cages? they broke PVE again. (Just a joke, not sure if this was intended or not though)

Ā

You can no longer see the health on the flaks, ā€œmain Ā weaponsā€ and missile launchers in T3 Hidden Maintenance Shop.(Didnt look at blackwood shipyard flaks)

Ā

they also don’t have boxes anymore(Which is probaly the cause of the problem)

Devs removed the object hp bar and targeting ability. You can no longer target objects in PvE. You can still target Engineer repair beacons and warp gates, though.

Oryngton I have no problems at all targetting everything, if you look in my first pic it shows the targetting about the main weapon, just no stats.

Huh, that’s new, then. When I tried that a couple days ago, I couldn’t target it, it’d just highlight, there was no target window.

this is also a very intresting bug that keep happening…I aim in the middle of my screen, and my turrets just go offscreen firing at…well…nothing

Those look like Heavy Lasers. You DO know Heavy weapons don’t turn as fast as other weapons, right?..

Ā

Unless you’ve been shooting straight forward all the time and you hit an invisible wall or an enemy ceptor shot past your reticle.

I know heavy weapons and their…inabilities…

But this was simply: I aim Ā at him, lasers hit him for a second(or more), then suddenly goes to the top of the screen for no reason at all(And if you look, it was actually firing behind me basicly) and either comes back after a short time or i have to aim away and it’s just an annoying hassle…

And it really makes no sense at all, only heavy weapons do it. The normal weapons don’t. And lasers seem to be the only one doing it as well…heavy railguns/plasma sometimes do it as well slightly, with the recticle aiming completly above it for no reason, but lasers do this sometimes and it’s annoying…really, really annoying,

I use Heavy Weapons on my Frigates… That NEVER happened to me. Not once.
