Star Conflict OBT v 0.8.4 Discussion

I’ve not used it yet myself, but I don’t see it actually helping at all - a smart Inty will just get behind and beneath you where the turrets can’t aim.

 

Also, pirate ships are posted.

i tried it, but the camera is painful while using it, and the turrets still got their dead spots. so changes little to none.

No one is mentioning this, don’t you find this is a considerate buff to your frigates to fight off interceptors?

Yeah, since they’re so slow they can’t otherwise engage.  They’re probably stopped anyway.  I have to use “Expert Mode” just to make sure I know where I’m going near a beacon or asteroid, and that limits my firing range all by itself.  I’m guessing the devs like playing fed engineers.

A speed boose for feds?  When was the last time Jericho got a patch to boost anything?  Patch 0.8.4 boosts fed speed.  The last patch boosted fed hull.  Patch 0.8.3 boosted engineering module recovery, and weaked guard modules.  Patch 0.8.2 boosted fed fighters and frigates.  Is it any wonder Jericho’s been loosing on the sector map for a while?

Jericho not receiving boosts doesn’t mean they’re losing territory. People not playing their side is what loses them territory.

Yes, sit still while they circle around you. I’m sure that’ll still work wonders for your demise.

So. Before update it was clear that factions don’t matter much, just grind what you like. Started with my friends, all different factions.

 

After patch we can no longer play on same side while still grinding xp for the faction we want. So this killed star conflict for us. Nice.

 

…and no, switching contracts and pve ARE NOT solutions.

Your corp allegiance overrides your personal one.

I understand the reasoning behind a unified playlist, but forcing people to play realistic mode is going to drive away a lot of casual gamers (including myself) who don’t have the time to grind 3-4 decked out ships of the same tier.

Do you see that this is? This is what we call a “Frigate ball”. Specifically, a new breed of frigate ball - one where you get a lot of Engineers spamming barriers and dropping healing modules all over the place.

 

Your changes have changed nothing. If anything, you’re just encouraging more frigate balls because now a well coordinated group of Engineers can effectively block all incoming fire, drop healing modules behind a rock, and then take up an entirely different vantage point to provide their aura heals and fire support from.

 

The result? Engineers remain the number one target solely to try and stop this crap happening in the first place - it’s a race to kill them before they can drop barriers and healing modules… which of course is impossible because guess what they do when death is imminent…

 

Edit: There were better examples during that match of how broken that new barrier is, but I didn’t think to take a screenshot at the time…

I had 4 days commitment and now I am back to 1 instead of 5th day.  Lost my 10,000 loyality!

I fail to see a frigate ball on your screen shots:

1st screen : Enemy has 3 frigs out of 8 alive ships - 3 engies+2 command+1Tackler+1 CovOp +1 ECM

and you have 5 frigates out of at least 8 players? 

2d screen: Enemy has 3 Frigates: 2 Engies+1 Guard +1 CovOp+1 Tackler+2Command, did ECM died :)?

you have 4(or is it 5 frigates) of at least 8 players

 

Were you talking about your “frig ball” in screen 1? because enemy didn’t have one at all, taking into account it is combat recon mission and the way it is played,  even your team isn’t that bad

only one question…why are federation frigates now faster than jericho fighters? i have both and this is annoying. first it was reducing the number of lasers from 6 to 4, which was big nerfing for no reason, and now speeds are all wrong. if thats the way, why dont you just put 2 weapons on interceptors, 4 on fighters and 6 on frigates. fastest should be interceptors, then fighters and last are frigates. but frigates really need more weps, cuz honestly, they are just too vulnerable. just my opinion…everything else is ok.

I have a question with regards to iridium / artifacts rewards would that be available with PVE or both or solely PVP?

so this game is now only for big corps in the same faction and solo-players…

players like me and my friends who played together are now solo-players as long as we dont fight for the same faction…

jumping in with a squad of two of my friends for 1-3 hours in the evening is almost impossible because everybody has other preferences…therefore arcade was very good solution…it didnt effect the sector-conquest mode which is full of big corps…

maybe a friend of mine want to level a mk3 gun and i have that one in my arsenal…i have to pay “fee” (sign contract) to play with him!!! maybe i dont even want to level something because i have already done it!!! so i go solo then?

whats the point of this?

Clustering in groups is currently the best defence. If you would remove frigates, people would start to cluster in attack ships. It is easier to defend a position when you do it in a close group rather than doing it alone.

Clustering in groups is one thing.

 

Having an entire team sit right beside eachother behind multiple barriers being spawned to cover up as much as a large asteroid… That’s downright poor judgement from the devs. They KNEW this would happen. The enemy can now safely hunker down behind a mass of barriers, do jack xxxx all and still win the game. Is this really the game you’re promoting?

lets say i am in a squad of two (me and a friend) him on raid/jericho me on vanguard/federation…does the mode sector-conquest just not appear or does he play the so called enemy for this round/battle and the next round we fight together again in the same squad?

it’s absolutely awful. why would i like to switch my ship all the time? i am not able to put the same ship in all slots…why would anyone appreciate to be switched in roles every single time?

 

i don’t understand it and i hate it already.

Atleast i adapt to my team and to some degree, my enemies, picking my class to maximize my effectiveness.

I dont have access to a computer where i can install the game, but that camera sounds just like basic mode, is there a diffrence? i could fire behind me with basic mode

 

Those barriers are easily fixed, give them 5k hull hp instead of unlimited hull hp

Perfect fix, the number could be changed though, maybe 8k.

Ok, finally played half a dozen matches in T2 after getting home.

 

This. Is. Utter. Bullshit.

 

Between facing Rank 9 ships and complete MORONS, this game has become… terrible. That’s the only word I can use to describe it, at this point. It’s like you’re flying a paper ship and they have the scissors. I could blame it on bad flying skills if it weren’t for the 5 Fear Me medals I got in the process and top score in my team. Not just my team, though, lowest I reached was 3rd overall place.
