After playing with this patch, i see NO issues at all for balance in T3. That is all.

well, I personallywouldn’tt go as bold with statement like that, but in before Healing OP nerf, we have recons as we always had - those ships making sure that target dies inty/fighter/guard/ w.e. 

a) SpyDrones - hands down one the best single active modules in current balance state

b) shield drain - remember they IGNORE any resistances, now figure how good it is.

Either there was a stealth nerf or I’m just facing better pilots, but in T2 I’m finding it much more difficult to solo-kill people recently. I’m still flying head on toward Tacklers in my Recon, cackling madly and quoting Ash from Evil Dead II, but whereas before the sight of the Wraithblade would spell certain death for the Tackler, more often than not they get to limp away, broken but alive.

I really wonder how much of the player base is in these forums.
Something that’s been bothering me is that many [in-forum] don’t like realistic in the sector conquest. It makes sense if you simply didn’t like it, like how I don’t really like beacon hunt, but all the arguments about the realistic mode is:

I’m hoping that given time, players might learn to bring three ships into combat, and also recognize what game mode they are playing. I remember when I first started and similar issues were in Combat Recon [another mode where there may eventually be no respawn, and another mode where you are counting on another player to not be dumb, have a good enough ship to be captain, and not die]. Now I can understand the limit to -choosing- three ships for that mode, since anyone who has managed to make it to rank 12 now has a clear advantage in maintaining a fourth ship. But for everything else, this is another game mode. We want more game modes, right? [Well I do]. Yet the big problem with this mode seems to be, ‘the playerbase cannot understand what they are doing.’ Sometimes games do have to dumb things down for their players, but I don’t think this is one of those times. And there are still people in t3 that ~suck at [insert] game mode~, and yes, enough of them heavy on one team can ruin games. I honestly don’t think realistic is going away from sector conquest because there is no good reason for it to be removed. Give it a few MORE weeks and we’ll see if the learning curve on that mode is still somehow too steep.

btw- I *do* have that fourth ship slot, no I was not around pre-steam. No I am not Russian.
And to the person who said they liked the good ol’ days where you can enter Realistic and 3v3 mug people, as much fun as that was, the whole point of this game is having a good amount of people per team. Separate realistic again and it’ll be that same ghost town, which is pretty much againt the idea of the game itself.

I have a very simple opinion regarding potential disparity between forum numbers and player numbers; if you can’t be bothered to so much as make an account and leave but a single line of text to voice your opinion, good or bad, on some facet of the game that has changed or may change, your opinion means squat.

Agreed, and merging ‘realistic’ with the other modes was a very good move. I’ve always wanted to play ‘realistic’ but stayed away from it because there were too few players and it had a relatively bad reputation on the forums; I’m happy to have been “forced” into it randomly.

Wooah, people are arguing against realistic mode? That’s one of the most fun modes in the game and I am happy they consolidated the game modes, while giving us custom servers. Very good move, I applaud the changes. Can’t wait to see what else is in store for us.

 

I’ve even grown to like Beacon Hunt too, but I am still of the opinion it’s one of the weaker game modes and something could be done to improve it; random beacon locations, more beacons to hunt simultaneously, etc… Surprise us.

 

Anyway, I would totally be in favor of adding more realistic modes.
