this patch killed it for me…absolutly hate it.
I have played since maintenance got off.
At first I was confused, but thought that I should step back, come back later and try to play it for real.
I have done just that for the past 3 hours, and honestly, it is as bad as I feared and exactly what I had expected funnily enough.
Things that I knew were gonna happen and actually did:
Frigates can be made unkillable(The “guard” frigates) it’s funny, 2 v 1, and they couldnt even break my shield. Have had the same happen against others, cant even get close to killing them solo or with 2. and if it is a guard ship with an engineer with both hull and shield buffs active, yeah…see you later in 5 v 1 to finally kill him because you might as well turn away to try and kill others.
Things that I knew were gonna happen but actually turned out way worse:
ship roles! I figured it would be as before, with ship bonusses and specials switched around a bit…but the module restrictions together with the new ship tree are a TERRIBLE combination. To get a combination of ships that is actually worth it currently i have to spend several TENS OF MILLIONS of credits!
Not to mention ship progression is completly bogus currently, dead ends everywhere, completly different ship roles that you NEED TO BUY before you can progress, meaning all your previous work to get your other ship fitted was for NOTHING.
Things that actually got improved:
Loyalty! It got a mediocre buff, but it looks quite good! Already found a document and it was a nice boost as well! so good job on that.
Currently I am really sad I spend money on this game and will probaly come back over a long while to see if it got improved any, but i fear for the worst…
edit: also, yeah…the new engineer wall that protects thingy? yeah…I have yet to see it get killed…it says it is of “limited strength” but when i have fired at it for a full 20 secs and its still sitting there happily ever after…SCREW THAT.
