Star Conflict OBT v 0.8.0

I chose the “Like it, need some changes” option. It is good, but needed some balance changes (which I believe update #1 is working well towards). The only thing I would add is that if possible we need more modules. I like that modules have been seperated by ship role, the problem with this is that each ship role doesn’t yet have enough modules to choose more than one real setup at this point.

What happened to the Synergy bonus display in the ship stat screen?  If intentional, could we please have it returned? If not intentional, can we have it fixed?

I much prefer seeing Synergy having some visible value, and particularly when I’m attempting to compare 2 different craft base stats…

Cheers.

Too many players were confused and thought that they would get grey+green numbers, so we decided to show only the final values.

I choose OptionI hate it.

My gold ships from the DLC from steal lost there equipment and didnt evne get full synergy update.

My 10 ship slost all there equipement and didnt get proper value back.

I had 4.4M credits saved for my new tier 3 ship, I lost 4.3M credits to equipe one of my 9 ships, that sucks HORRIBLE now compare to what I used to have. And thats because of the nerfs to it and the new modules that all are poor. (long range)

Overall, feeling royaly screwed over, again.

I can see both sides.  The new direction may lead players to work more cohesively; as well as dissuade them from farming points and logging off mid-game, and discourage us from straying into 1v1 FFA fests during Domination, or Beacon Capture.  There are things I like, and don’t like with the new specialized roles, but in the end I’m sure I would adapt.  After all, it’s INTERNET SPACESHIPS!

The thing is, if they’d offered me the chance to reset my character to the faction of my choosing (I was specializing in Federation/Vanguard ECM) AND given me the CHOICE to have in game–market sell price–cash for the modules now rendered unusable I’d be less frustrated.

I don’t even care that premium ships have zero repair bills.  I don’t mind considering a different faction, I don’t mind trying new things and adjusting.  I don’t mind too much that I can’t fit the appropriate military grade version of a module, sitting in my warehouse, that can be purchased off the market.  (I’m assuming it’s a bug and will be fixed.)  I don’t mind testing new ideas as the game goes through its growing pains.

What I do mind is not having what I would consider fair compensation for the losses incurred due to the changes made, in order for me to re-customize my character to the play style of my choosing within the new parameters given, at the level I was playing the game before the patch.  I mind that prices for ships and mods have doubled.  I mind that the devs, or their reps are virtually non-existent when it comes to giving us feedback.  I mind that match making still seems a bit wonky and that they’ve removed the ranking symbols from our ship icons in the loading screen.  That makes me think instead of fixing match making, they’ve just hidden the ship’s tier icons from the loading screen.  This was after a majority vote by one of their own in game polls telling them to not mix tiers.  (I can understand that you will have t1/t2, t2/t3 at times—but no t2/t4)

It also bothers me that they are offering exorbitantly priced DLC packages for a game still in beta. While I have been waiting to actually pay for content, I can’t help but to raise an eyebrow that players who did were not given the choice to be reimbursed for their RMTs.

The fact is, if I choose to continue playing completely F2P it will probably take me several, several million to recuperate, and twice as long to get where I am now before I could even fly said ships . . .  or I could drop some cash on Gaijin and be rollin’ fat in a matter of minutes keeping in mind that I could log in one day to find all of the items I purchased changed, or gone with no offer of a refund.

It almost seems as if there are two opposing forces at work here.  One is what I would consider your average fledgling developer learning as they go–with a great idea, which is being thwarted by counter intuitive decision making by an overzealous marketing department.

If Gaijin gives us a chance to really have some fun, and be able to feel like we contend with the paying customers—to an extent—without having to pay, and communicate 1000% better with the players:  I’d bet we’d spend more money on this game than they realize.

I’d say it’s more like 1 step forward, 2 steps back.

No, you are wrong.  New updates have changed the reputation rewards.

It is a fact that I am getting 50 reputation for a loss and 100 for a win if I do not queue using my higher ranked ships.  Try progressing like that…

Here’s a pic for you:

I’m rank 8 with Federation and working on 9, with no license. As you can see that’s 2 rank 6 ships and 1 rank 5. The first 2 I flew mostly my Swift 3 and Alligator-M, the third I flew mostly the Dwarf. It seems when I use the rank 5 I get utterly hammered for reputation but the rank 6 ships are still ok. So, it seems to be 2 ranks below you can progress, 3 ranks below it hammers you. This means you can play with the max rank of your previous tier and grind up to the max rank of your next tier and never have to suffer the disadvantage of flying a rank 4 or 7 ship if you really don’t want to.

75% is happy? where do you get these numbers? xD I am seeing a lot of agry voices EVERYWHERE

The so called vocal minority. People who are happy are not going to go around championing the patch (except for a few of us), they will just play contentedly. The ones who are unhappy will vocally whine about it till the end of time.

And we should, because the current level of games being developed and release are becoming worse and worse and worse. My generation ( iam 28) still remembers the days ( 90’s ) where quality > quantity.

Not all tiers of ships of the factions has it though, so your forced to use multiship sof multi factions which isnt really something I would recommend to anyone.

holy crap there are dumb people around…

Too many players were confused and thought that they would get grey+green numbers, so we decided to show only the final values.

I appreciate it being a little confusing but it really was very helpful. Now when I look at ships I can’t tell whether what I’m looking at is it base stats or with bonuses and even if I can tell that it’s with bonuses I have no easy way of working out what the base stats should be (I like to sit and do a bit of maths before purchasing stuff and not being able to tell mucks up the percentages). Surely it would have been easier to keep that coded and simply put a little dialog somewhere that explains that ‘grey numbers are the total stats you get, green show how much of the overall stats you have are from bonuses such as implants and modifiers’. Yes I know you’ll have people complain either way, but this solves the problem for both sides.

It would be nice if the system have an option to allow you to choose between showing final value or grey+green value.

Too many players were confused and thought that they would get grey+green numbers, so we decided to show only the final values.

Really? Well could you please make an option to show it?

*small bump*

Well, the poll results are almost even, so it appears that some were luckier/preferred the patch more than others.

Too many players were confused and thought that they would get grey+green numbers, so we decided to show only the final values.

Ah, so previously it was showing the total value (assuming Grey for that) and the bonus that was already included (assuming green for this)?

And here I thought it was previously Base (Grey) and Synergy Bonus (Green).  Thus making me one of the confused.

I’ll add a +1 to the request for the option of seeing Base in grey and bonus in Green rather than just the total.

And at the risk of sounding like a revisionist whinger, could we have the Tier levels displayed again in the Battle roster screen, please?  Mousing over every craft to see why they’re annihilating me is awfully time consuming…

Cheers

Ok, I have my thoughts on this patch.

Sector Conquest: What’s the purpose of a corporation owning a sector? Bragging rights?

Other than that this seems identical to “Arcade Battle”. I don’t care for this, as it’s divvying up the population of the game further. Save the corp bragging rights for actual corp vs corp action.

Ship changes - I feel that by limiting the roles to certain ships for using modules, makes the battles have ‘some’ variety. But you’re taking away the fun of customizing your ship with whatever modules you feel fit. For instance, I liked that old command ships had +Range  and +effect to their modules. This gave them a reason to be used more on a command type, but still could be used on other types, just they were less effective.

If a module is being abused as a staple across all ships of a type, balance it by lowering the effect or something…

Frigates - I’ll say this: “They’re supposed to be slow for a reason.”. They feel like paper mache’ now… Can we balance things by doing it slowly with a nerf bat instead of whipping out the nerf atomic warhammer?

New Modules - defintely nice to have new content.

New ship ability - good idea.

QoL changes - Easier to read comparison stats stats. Much better.

Too many players were confused and thought that they would get grey+green numbers, so we decided to show only the final values.

now please get it back

ship roles should be diverse,

however i feel some things should be transferable, so middle ground of now and how it use to be,

i think things like plasma arc, or pulsar should not be allowed on all ships.

Wow Jin you’re young. 80s is where the real music is at!

And I sort of rememeber the 90s as rather meh. Nintendo and Sega were rather basic then.

And once again, I thought you said you quit?

Or does the younger generation believe that words are cheap and truth is optional?

If you said you quit, be a man and do it, not get stuck neither here nor there. Guess I’m old, but I grew up in a generation where your word was your bond.

If you said it, do it. Otherwise, be ready to be called a liar.
