Star Conflict OBT v 0.8.0

Fast ?

Please … you can’t be serious ? Do you work for Gaijin ? If you want to defend them, please be serious at least …

A rank 7 as tackler T3. Is it a joke ,? Or perhaps you don’t understand the matter of implants and why it is important to play Rank 9 at Tier 3.

I wont post anymore. you are just sitting there being cheap, and calling me stoopeeed.

The change to this new role system is a great idea but implemented in a very wrong way, I was expecting ships to get the corresponding special module to the role it was defined and a major buff for the module used fro that particular role, instead now you have no freedom of choice at all and is forced to only use the module of that role which makes the ships a lot less fun to play with.

That’s about how I thought it would be too, Blade. =(

He has a point. If you don’t want to pay why be forced to pay to continue on a path of ships. I am sure it’snot intentional , they didn’t even pay attention. This patch is full of…bunnies

Can I have 10 million credits back please?

I purchased a King Kastor a short time ago because it was a command ship that could use the passive always on auras, along with the innate % increase to its effectiveness.

The ship is no longer a command ship, it no longer gets an innate % increase to its effectiveness, and can no longer use these modules AT ALL

It took me quite some time to grind the cash to get the standard ship in the tier, and eventually the King, which is now useless to me and my friends.

Thank you and good night.

Just found this while browsing the forums. Given the new update, it made me cry a little:

"27. Tell us more about playable spaceships?
There will be fighters (light, medium and heavy) and also frigates. Every ship is capable to carry plenty of modules which define its role and class, and players should be absolutely free to choose any set they find succesful. Also every class of ships is equipped with a unique module giving some extra special abilities - it’s intended to help these players who can’t decide what class to choose on the start."

Want to read the whole thing? Here: [http://forum.star-conflict.com/index.php?/topic/4256-answers-from-developers/?p=31142](< base_url >/index.php?/topic/4256-answers-from-developers/?p=31142)

Again, maybe you missed it, but this is what really stood out to me:

and players should be absolutely free to choose any set they find succesful

So, yeah. Food for thought.

Same as BladeOfShadow

I won’t comment against your words TFOG, in the sense that these changes really altered the possible play styles of some ships. I too used a similar build as far as Empire frigates went, in that I can help my team recover, I can assist against fighters and interceptors (and even hold my own against some of them), and the Desintegrator fit my hands as a tactical damage and cripple weapon thanks to energy sapping to make sure some poor shmuck didn’t make it from point A to point B unharassed.

HOWEVER

I have no idea what you may mean about the new Empire frigates not being able to contribute to objectives. I do.

Personally, and while feeling sorry for the loss of the energy sapping tool, the new combat drone fitted frigates are everything I could want - Tried the Fed ones, and while with its plus, it didn’t quite fit my playstyle.

That said though, I would wish Gaijin would just… stop! I mean, each patch is making huge, drastic changes. It’s an inch short of being Alpha grade developing with things being shifted about so hard. I had a T3 ship climb one rank and now there’s a gap between accessible ships.  T2 ships saw the loss of an armor modifier slot, some items that were in a way fitting for a ship class can’t be used now because of role, and so on.

There was the whole matchmaking thing, and I tried to pull through. Kind of got fixed.

But now this. At this rate there won’t be players left soon if they make drastic changes with each patch, some of them screwing with paying customers.

the new tier system could work if you only had to buy a ship or two in each rank to progress to the next instead of buying whatever is next in line, forcing you to spend hard earned credits on something you’ll never fly.  And test flight before a purchase would be a nice touch as well.

I was hating on the patch till I played for a couple of hours.  They won me over with the improved game play and no more cheese builds.  The ones complaining seem more upset that they can’t play their op builds now they have to work.  The grind was reset a bit but thats the life of the beta tester.  I think they could win a lot of people over with a sale on gold and steam dlc real soon and maybe a discount on premium time.  (hint hint)

my builds were far from OP, and honestly, to get anywhere near the same set up i have to spend several TENS OF MILLIONS OF CREDITS and that is without fracking modules! ALso no more OP builds? you don’t want to encounter me in-game than, you will never break my Crus Type S(A or q or whatever its called, T3 R9) without 2 others helping you.

The main issue by far here is the fact many people cannot access modules anymore because they do not own the ships that are allowed to equip them. Back when i started this game up until  before this patch, i was having immense amounts of fun blowing up internet spaceships, i decided early on to support the game and buy one of the steam DLC’s so i could skip into T3 fights

I got the desert eagle with the steam dlc and just enough GS to premium fit the ship fully, now before this patch the desert eagle was a command ship so i fit, as you would expect, premium command modules to this ship.

Now, the desert eagle is the only T3 fighter i have, this patch changed the desert eagle to a gunship, this means the ~£20 i spent on ships and modules is impossible to reach and use.

“But Drake” i hear the accountants cry, eager to not cause a charge-back storm from the playerbase, “you can use these modules again once you grind credits and buy a t3 ship that can use said modules, why dont you just do that?”

A good question to be honest, if this happened a few months back i probably might have grinded up to buy some ships that allowed use of modules i paid money for, but since then not only have you increased the price of ships to something much higher than normal, (Spouting “but you get the worst modules possible free with the ship”, is not an excuse mind you) you have also drastically reduced the amount of income and faction reputation that players can get per match.

I am studying for a degree in engineering, when i am not busy doing this i am most likely doing work for turtle entertainment, the largest esports company on the planet. I simply do not have time to grind for ships i do not want to fly, just to be able to access modules that i should already be able to use.

It is akin to if i was to buy a product, lets say a car. I buy this car and it is a very nice car, i like driving it around and it was money well spent in my opinion. But at a red light the vendor of said car takes the keys from me and i can no longer drive my car unless i spent tens of hours driving boring, terrible and frankly bad cars that i do not want to drive.

This patch has been very shortsighted on the developers end, the balance is shocking and not only are you limiting the customization of ships, you are preventing players from using stuff they already own.

well said, my friend, well said

+1

"== Graphics ==

* Improved visualization of various objects and ships."

please put support to Nvidia 3d vision, i cant use it… and i want to see this game in stereoscopic 3d

This will be added somewhere in the future.

Actually not going to whinge about the new patch, just a few questions that are probably related to it.

Contracts: There certainly seems to have been some significant changes to them, is there anywhere I can find these changes listed?

Reputation Gain: OK, so with the adjustments some of my spacecraft have/need additional synergy levels added to them, so I’m flying all my T1s with their T1 equipment in mixed T1/T2 Sector Conquest Battles, and irrespective of score or playing field, max out at around the 110 Rep mark for a WIN.  so do I need to WIN approximately 1000 battles to go from rank 8 to rank 9 now? Is this because I now have a T3 Craft (Machete) so the system determines that I’m obviously just trying to kill n00bs in an overpowered craft (which, obviously, is not the case)?

And please could we again request more detailed patchlogs?  General change information is fine, but showing us the details (which you have to already have shown someone to institute in the first place), would considerably ease the sense of dislocation and disinterest of the development team in their client base, which we feel.

Cheers.

Edited for speeling and use of the whole grammar concept :stuck_out_tongue:

Contacts: These are only little changes, it is not the promised contract rework. Due to increase the loyalty income all complex contracts have been changed/removed and the cooldown has been lowered to 1 or 18 hours.

Reputation. You are a rank 8 player and when you pick a T1 ship the system thinks you are trying to “farm” new players. We don’t want to forbid to play on lower Tiers, but we made it less attractive so players stick to the Tiers of their rank.

I like the patch , rly . It will certainly take some time to get used to it but , in my personal opinion ( so feel free to hate me) it’s a good turn of things.

But i rly rly rly can understand how you feel Drakelddon , for someone like you it’s bullshit .

Yeah, Contracts are contracts, so all that is ok, was just wondering if there was a location for the actual changes to puruse…

Edit: just figured out what had been bugging me about the contracts! There’s only one per loyalty level! Damn glad I made it to level 3 in everything beforehand xD

Reputation is a little off though (imo), particularly as I’m Rank 8 in Jericho (previously only had T2 craft), but only 5 in Empire and Federation (both only have T1, excepting changes), and now to gain access to craft (and as stated, bring synergies back to maximum) I’ll be spending a lot of time in the T1-T2 arenas…

Do you know if Reputation is due another overhaul within the 0.8.x.x cycle?

Cheers for the response btw.

We thought it was more usefull to list the changes for the ship roles. If we would do this also for the contracts and some other things the patchlog could be a few pages and people would not read

The reputation system was changed in one of the last patches.

Actually, people who care about the upcoming changes will read the whole patchlog or the parts they are intrested in. The length of the patchlog doesn’t matter as we usually have 1-5 hours of reading time till the servers are back up.

i think this patch comes in the line with the other patches recently released. all is about economy. they want us to buy more and more ships, that mean spending lots RL money.

I was talking about the long range frigates, which I specified every time. I tried the empire engineer frigs and I agree with you, I loved the the drones!

Ditto on Funky Bacon.  The spiel at the beginning of these threads are good enough for those who want to catch the highlights, the rest of us will happily spend the time digging through the details.  Besides, it surely has to be in a document somewhere already, right?

Yeah, I caught the Rep change previously (7.11 or 7.12 from memory) which coincided with the improved matchmaker.  The question was if you knew if a further revisiting or adjustment was scheduled for some point in the 0.8’s.  If you do not know, that’s OK too.

Need a better refund system, lots of unpreferred ship, and modules. Waste of player’s credit and playing time.
