But waiting for a week for that one? I doubt a lot of players will be left after just one week.

A good half of the players already left after a week of the contract mess. Of those remaining, a lot logged only to do the contracts. This may actually kill the game for all but the hardcore.

 

Well, on the bright side the closed beta testers will be able to farm T2s and T3s instead of bots in OBT on their fully kitted T4s.

First of all awesome work guys, cant believe how fast you patch stuff and listen to the community! Its really something new!

Still, I have to give some criticism on the matchmaking, there are already threads on this but I think having ships of different tiers in 1 battle is a really really bad idea. Having more modules makes you better period. This is unfair. In a open world I would understand, but not in a battle system like it is today.

But I would also like to call everyone here to calm, many times the devs have made a mistake, but even more times they have corrected it really fast. That is what makes this dev team so great. Also keep in mind they should be free to test stuff out and see if it works. Thats why it is still called beta. I know it isnt a normal beta, since people can already spend cash in game. But that is why the devs listen carefully to the response of their changes. This however should not make it so that they cant try out new things. Sometimes you have to, and for lack of a totally free testing realm they have to implement it in the only realm that is available atm.

I am confidend however that with enough constructive feedback they will change this.

But pls dont rage quit. You would be giving up a gem :wink:

Hey, you never know, the next patch could be awesome, if they can get rid of the s**t they smeared on this one…

Im seriously not pushing the panic button like some others , but the matchmaking thing , T1 vs T3 or even T4 , can not last a week. It’s a neckbreaker.

So upon playing a single game, I can say with certainty, roll back, or lose people. Mixed teir games, loot prices at xxxx low levels, lower credit reward, and increased ship repair, plus double ship costs for fittings i dont want or need. Sorry, im not grinding to waste credits on modules i already have. The only things i suggest keeping out of the whole entire patch are the new pvp mode, the increased faction rep, and “MAYBE” the new hud with its pointers, which honestly is as annoying as it is helpful. Just a serious lack of thought put into this patch. Honestly, F for effort.

Loot & Minigame: Fail, might as well skip it entirely for arcade, not exciting, just annoying waste of time.

Also, didn’t we have a poll last week about matchmaking where the OVERWHELMING majority stated they wanted different tiers of ships separated?  Why did you even bother asking, to troll us?

I do not own any ship higher than T2, and I get matched with T4 ships as well. And being a fairly new player, I am in no way or form a good player yet, much less “hyper good” lol.

I hope someone post what they will do about all this soon or my friend list have no one online soon… :smoke:

Also, we need some buff assist fix. Its really can use some nerf. For now, if u desire to end up at 1-3 place in ur team u need to fly a command fighter of any type of frigate with green\blue modules. Thats it. nothing more needed. Done it myself a few times. Just sit in my Fed Fox with 2 buffs active and recive a buff assist for almost every kill my teammates do. Eventually i get to 1-2nd place and recive a lot of money for nothing. I can fly an interceptor and get 10 kills, 5 assists and be beaten in score by some lazy xxxx sitting behing asteroid drinking coffie and getting assists from every single one of my kills. I take a lot more risks to be shot down and end up earning less money then a guy, who is safly taking buff assists from his spawn(Fed Fox have some huge bonus to buffs range and effectivnes).
 

And making loot drops dependant on ur combat efficiensy can be a good idea. If u do more actions, taking more risks u have to be rewarded for it a lot more then someone who’s playing passive.

peferct proff is simple & all can see from 3-4k player online (+que waiting for log in), game was drop to 700-1500 after 1 single patch & how was fix or correct in next one ? ooo yes other smoll mistake u will say :wink: & now agen other soo wonderfull patch ??? don’t tell me agen just minor mistake ?

I still have to admit though that the new matchamking system is, to say the least, rubbish, and I have been totally anihallted many times.

 

I myself like the new ship pricing system. Sure, it’s more of a grind to get there, but i’ve found that when I buy a ship, I have to spend more battles just to get a good weapon on it, and now I can use it straight away. That and you’re getting a fully outfitted ship for actually a cheaper overall price than what it would usually cost.

 

And what’s wrong with the practice battles? I can’t seem to get in one.

P.S. I’ve also noticed a bit of subtle nerfing. My Acid Hydra’s Desintegrator seems a little weaker than what it was.

additionally , the Reputition points awarded are … not that good anymore :wink: , the matchmaking for low tiers is … neckbraking as i mentioned before , though i really like to get into fight with t4 ships with my t3s :slight_smile:

No. Just no. If ships are of comparable power, they should *be* in the same tier in the tech tree.

I would like to see how this “new” algorithm plays out, however the second change completely nullifies it.

Personally i feel that the second change is a slap into the face of every player playing this game and partaking in the poll where the overwhelming majority was voting for keeping Tiers seperated.

 

edit: It’s particularly bad, imo, because the game is designed around the ships beating ships within their Tier, thus opening the MM to include all Tiers screws the balance a lot.

This is written nicely, but totally uninformative of what has changed, i looked at the contracts and didn’t notice a difference.

It’s an interesting mode, though i think the mode itself is kind of strange for arcade.

Arcade = Infinite respawns

In this mode, if you control the beacon and you die you are forced to change to another ship which i think is wrong, given how arcade & realistic are introduced.

Game balance: General

* Participating in battles with ships of a rank far below yours, gives you less reputation.

* Mk1 modifications price increased.

* When buying a new ship, you also get a complete set of pre-selected modules corresponding to the class of the ship (ship cost has been increased accordingly).

* Reduced cost of repairing T2, T3, T4 ships.

* Changed the reward formula: effectiveness now plays a bigger role.

* You can now create squads of any size free of charge.

 

As stated before, lazy people that just get a lot of buff assists are rewarded the same as people who actually try.

I think this is just a bad attempt to “fix” people afking and ending up with 0 points.

The drop in rep gain made this game, once again, even more , unnecessarily, grindey than it already was.

An example: my team got steamrolled hard 1-9 and kept getting farmed, i got 100 efficiency and we lost. I gained a whooping 98 reputation. I was T2, thrown against full T3 with 1 Tier 4.

The best part is, that the change for not needing a licence anymore is not working, if you have more than 1 buddy in your squad, it won’t start and tell you that you need a licence.

 

Interface: General

* Added an option to compare characteristics of selected ships and weapons with your current one. You need to press the Shift key to compare.

* Revamped battle selection window:

  • Now you get a clear explanation of each type of combat.

  • New game modes coming soon!

 We don’t need new game modes, we need a game that’s not broken beyond recovery.

And btw, for everyone thinking this is a “BETA”, once there’s real money being spent, apart for testing reasons for 1-4 weeks to test it, it’s actually a real game and not a Beta anymore.

They just keep calling it beta, this game can have tons of changes for the next 2 years and will still be “in beta”.

I didn’t find anything wrong with the former patch.

My god some of the people in this game sound like spoiled 10 year olds. This is a beta and you are a tester. Whether you payed for DLC or not you’re still testing a BETA game. The Devs are going to put in changes that need to be tested, and that’s your job as a tester. There are a few people in this thread, like Jaridan above me, who seem to understand that; however, there are also the prepubescent kids “threatening” the Devs with loss of players if things aren’t “fixed”. I really think some of you need to sort out the priorities of beta testing a game, stop whining, report problems you see without all of the attitude, and continue to TEST the game…
