I don’t follow, if you go into a battle with a Tier 2 loadout why would your rank influence your rewards?

Following that logic I will be punished in rep rewards for trying to raise Jericho rep with Jericho ships cause I got only R3 with Jericho (so T1 ships) while I have R6 with Fed and T2 Ships?

The mechanism was created in order to prevent “Ace” farming on the lower Tiers.

No, if you switch to another faction the reward depends on the rank in the other faction.

 

But t4 have a  23min wait time

There are still bugs in the matchmaking, if it does not bring you into battle after 3 min, try a restart.

Ok so by having a faction at the rank of 12 means you are punished for flying in lower tiers of ships? That isn’t right, and can be fixed imo simpily.

 

Each tier has 3 levels. Beginner advanced expert. Base these levels on the equipment on the ship. If say my demios 2 has all blue or premium equipment on it it’s the highest level. A mix of blues and mk 2 would be advanced and Mk1 and Mk2 would be beginner. Now you can reset the levels of rewards back and people that enjoy playing lower tiers (like me b/c I have the rep with my sub-factions to gear my ships) can now earn rep and loyatly evenly without being forced to play with a t3-t4 ship with crap mods, or simply b/c they want more practice b/c they don’t want to pay huge repair costs or b/c wait times are far to long in the T3-T4 levels.

 

Loot should be rolled back due to the fact that you have increased prices of the ships. I was pi$$ed when I spent 2.6mil on a ship just to have to rip most everything off to put new on it. The option to buy a ship stock (nothing on it is a must!!!). If you MUST leave the ships with pre installed mods on them at least let the player select what they want on it before buying it. Just like RL people hate to waste what they have earned, so by giving this option may help calm the bit** storm.

 

This game has potential to be a good game…like many. Though so far I won’t play until the next patch. I’m full of Ideas. I hope this option to the matchmaking is helpful. Hell if you have to make a mod score for each ship…0-1000 beginner, 1001-1800 advanced 1801+ expert. Now people know where they will go. 

 

One more idea for the PvP PvE thing. PvP on wins will earn a player say  500 loyalty with whatever faction (tech armada legion) they are doing contracts for, plus rep with main factions and some cash. PvE is a greater boost to cash and rep with main factions but gives 0 loyalty and the few contracts that can be completed in them is no more. If this gets any attention I will write a much longer post in a seperate thread with many more details and maybe include more stuff on my mind.

Oh and I do have a question. When you say “player skill”, what exactly is that supposed to go off of? Ships destroyed? Rank with a faction? how many times I rub one out? This would be helpful information that I believe this community should know.

I’d like to hear a reason for the tweaking of the loot money though, because I can’t see any logical one that would justify such an extreme reduction of value.

 

 

What I have to point out big and fat, though, in the hope that error reads it, is that I’m Incredibly infinitely thankful for the adjustion of the HUD. The old one was so counterintuitive and partially frustratign that I almost would’ve opened a thread on it. :stuck_out_tongue:

BUT I’d still like to see an option to make the symbols larger. And really mean the symbols only, not the entire interface. (While we’re at it one could argue that you shoudl be able to customize the size, and maybe in the future also the design(Oh looky! An interestign way to make a little extra money like with the stickers! :wink: ), of the HUD, but i have no clue how much evelopement such things would take.)

Could you explain in what way it was more balanced? And you play arcade or standard? For arcade I guess it’s less noticeable - you always have low tier opponents to shoot at, though I would like to see you going with t2 against t4/t3 squads   all day. For standard even worse.

You are one of very few that seems to think that the MM is fine. I think out over every post maybe 4 say they like it out  of over 300.

It is balanced out based on skill, those higher tech level ships you see mixed  in with the lower ones are usually not that good. Though they do get an advantage of using more and a rather diverse selection of equipment. The tech levels are very different from one another. However tech 1 and 2 are comparable as tech 3 and 4, I think that if there were ever a mix, it would be that the higher tech level would be able to go to the lower tech level, for  the first few games or based on their skill, however this should not be the case if it were reversed but you could see such a thing despite that…

 

The views and responses are a bit repetitive on the mix tech levels… So not much of a point to give that out.

Why we continued experimenting with the matchmaking:

According to the results of the in-game voting 53% voted for keeping the old system, while 47% voted for a change in one or another form (31% in advanced Tiers and 16% in favor of a single Tier).

This means that nearly half of all players believe that it is possible to improve the performance.

Furthermore the old matchmaker was particularly unpleasant, when you reached a new Tier you had to fight stronger enemies.

You were immediately thrown into a group, where the majority of the other players already had good equipment and ranked ships, it was a hard way until being able to compete against them. With this in mind, we decided to refine the logic of the matchmaker.

Now it takes into account:

The combat skills and the players efficiency in the previous battles.

The more successful fights a player does, the better his chances are to end up in a battle with equal players.

This system needs time to gather enough information in order to run successful.

 

Unfortunately, when the system started you could even end up with T1 against T4.

We have already adjusted the settings and we are watching your feedback in order to improve the matchmaker.

Since the new system is much more flexible to configure, we hope to be able to create battles which will suit most players.

 

As for the changes in the reputation system:

Please note that the maximum reputation is credited, if you are involved in a fight on the ship, whose rank is close to your own. This has been made in order to prevent farming of new players.

It was made an unfortunate mistake, and the players who already reached a high rank in one faction, received little reputation in another faction.

This will be fixed in the near future.

I believe you good programmers knows maths. 53% > 43% . Even more : 53% > 31% in advanced Tiers and 16% in favor of a single Tier. And yet you ignore 53% totally and marked 31% as majority, this is qualified as cheating. You know what majority wants , but what you  surely did this on purpose.

 

From my many years experience of dealing with greedy business people who just want to milk money out of software developed ,I can see that you and your team now turning into this group.

Those kind of people only cares about money not software quality , that is what killing Software Industry and Gaming Industry . Thats is the reason I have started my own company - to build quality software and systems.reach 

 

I have a lot of faith in this game before when i started and in you Devs, At first I thought you guys as who want to make a good game and make money in long-run via popularity and user satisfactions not cash-grabs like EA/Many Chinese MMOs/Generic Korean F2P Publishers. Now what you guys turning this game into is even worse then what they doing just within a couple of patches .

Error, please answer me this. What if a player wants to get all or a bit of faction gear before switching to tier 3? You made this near impossible and you force people to either play tier 3 with bad gear, or get no rep… thats not a good choice either way m8.

Im pretty sure actually that at the current rate it is impossible to get all faction gear at tier 3 flying a tier 3 ship. This is because your main faction will be much higher then your subfaction, reducing the rate of rep gain, forcing you to fly tier 4.

 

The highest rank I am is 10 I believe, with Jericho, but my subfactions are much lower. I also get the same amount of rep, maybe 150 or so, still its very little. If you want to introduce this system, (although I think its a bad idea) make it so that it takes the avarage rank of your subfactions into consideration, instead of your highest main faction rank, as that rank means nothing for gear, only on what ships you can buy, for which btw we dont have enough credits now.

And almost half of the battles I came from were extremely close calls where one last point in the last second decided between winning or losing(Of course not that extreme, but you get what I mean).

That is not only a sign of good balancing but also fun and excitign as hell…

but seeing so many people are complaining, I might just have had extremely good luck.

 

Also: I play both modes, greatly prefer realistic/standard, but generally play arcade because I’m a team player, and if I can actually bear waiting 5+ minutes to get a game on realistic, It’s always just me against one other guy and the rest bots, and that’s a huge turnoff for me since I can’t rely on the bots.

What we have here so far is Extremely easy wins and IMPOSSIBLE to win Battles only, I can’t understand how you get those battles.

Before this , there were almost alwasy “Good Game” even at losing side its fun because most of them are close call.

 

Now most match we got are 1 team with 4 tier3 and other without tier3 at all . Luckiest i got is 1 tier3 only on both sides.

 

Fully upgraded Tier3 shield frig regen is more than my crappy MK2 gun’s DPS , that tier3 is so xxxx that he just sit and continue sniping other guy ignore me totally , but i can’t take down his shield using my T2 Mk2 rails shotgun with Greem Thermal Mod (Out of missles) . I just faustrated and has to move to another target.

Ace Farming what he call never exist , i really started this game less than a month ago and haven’t seen one guy in same tier so good that impossible to beat , i can atleast do some damage , or take down to last health and take him down with me in my explosion when if hes so good.

Now its impossible to even do hull damage to Tier3 Full upgraded Frigates with very stupid skill , he just sit sniping my teammate but i can’t do damage due to so fast shield regen (refer to above post).

Exacly. In every multiplayer game experienced players are separated from new players via matchmaking, not by punishing experienced player for playing with new ones!

Adding pilot skill to the algorithm was not a good move. It ensures you will face superior ships every match. 

 ^ exactly.   You’ll just end up bouncing between toasting mediocre players and being toasted by statistically superior ships.
