Star Conflict OBT v.0.11.6 Discussion

GIVE US BACK HANGAR BUTTON!!!

+1  :00999:

  Workshop

You can buy blueprints in the Store or find them among loot
There are unique blueprints that can’t be bought

This is brilliant! (Surprisingly I’m not being sarcastic) People finally have incentive to go to Invasion for things other than PvE grinding and daily missions!

And I absolutely LOVE that there is the chance to find unique loot! It adds some mystery back into the game and that hope that maybe this time you’ll strike the motherlode! HUGE thumbs up for that.  :fed012:

  Weapons and modules

Disintegrator
Firing rate reduced from 17 to 15 shots per minute

EM Scattering Field

Module active time reduced from 60 to 40 seconds
Reverse Thruster
Energy consumption increased from 300 to 400 pts.

This is… a bandaid on a bullet wound. I’m glad you are finally looking into player complaints about the LRF class, but these changes alone will not fix the class’ primary problem: It’s design encourages camping and not teamwork. Until that is addressed, this class will let it’s team down when there are more than 2 on a given team.  :fed003:

Store
The Store was tweaked to help new players get accustomed to game mechanics
Each module or weapon are now available for purchase when the pilot reaches a certain rank
Thus, you can no longer accidentally buy a module of a much higher rank than your current rank
However you can still install a rank 6 module on a rank 4 ship
If the pilot has modules with ranks higher than his current rank, he can still use them with no limitations

Rank 11
Ship modifiers
Capacitor Power Relay T4
Inertial Stabilizer T4
Target Tracking Coprocessor T4

Rank 12
Ship modifiers
Submatter Shield T4

WHY are more modules being pushed up the tech tree into T4 from T3?!?! You say this is to help new players get used to the game, yet most players agree the way to do this is to create tutorials for each module. And by the time players reach T3, they should have most of the basics down anyway.

So this doesn’t seem to be about helping new players as much as it is another gimmick to get players to keep progressing up the Tiers. News Flash: Taking modules away from T3 will not make players leave to go play T4 when that Tier only exists as a gateway to T5.  :fed015:

Lastly, when were you planning to announce the winner of the Aerography contest? I figured you were waiting until the next big update to add the winning sticker into the game, but there has been no announcement or anything. What gives?  :007:

So in fact :

Nerf for new players that don’t affect old players.

Say to good players : “Hi, go play T1 to ‘train’ some newbs by breaking t1 balance”.

Moved many blueprints to invasion ’ s loot (Where do you think the blueprints missing are? Of course weapons upgrade are on Aliens and pirate’s modules are on pirates…).

False nerf to LRF.

And we still don’t know who won the stickers event.

I spent half of my day in Invasion farming R10 sectors and FX-1 sectors and no blueprint appeard.

If you can loot them, they must be super rare.

So we can buy weapon and RT blueprint… and rest we have to loot?

It doesn’t encourage pilots to use RT on LRFs at all.  :006j:

I bought all the blueprints yesterday smelling something like this. I have already learnt all of them, including pirate ones :D.

It seems they have messed again with the MM: previously for a 5v5 in tier 5 you had to wait between 30 secs and 1.30 mins. Now it is 5 mins minimum again.

Great job dudes, great job.

With the hangar issue all they need to do is make it return to Equipment if you click OUTSIDE the active window, eg. ships tree. Make an exception for chat box in case people want to type some info but otherwise it would make it a whole lot easier than needing to go to the little x or pressing escape twice (because the first one usually closes the chat window)

just click the ship slot and it’ll show you equipment

try that when you are in ship tab

hmmm im having a hellish time with gruping in pvp. iv gotten 3 new friends/players to the game but its dam impossible to get in a game with a grup with 2+ players in T1 or T2, even if we have all grey items ships no pop… we still havent been able to join a game with 4 in a grup and its been 3days, why is this a problem?! isent this why you implamentadet those dam Bots?! fix the dam Queing system all dem wired restricktions that only meakes it buggy and less playable… dont tell me that 4player grup in t1-2 is to OP… its like that in all games were u shoot others online LIVE with it, or find friends! fix it please!

We noticed a new marker on the hud that replaces the old red arrow pointing toward enemy ships. Why is this not written in the patch review?

Also, the new markers are way too small, they are hard to see rapidly. Either add an option to enlarge the marker or combine the old arrow with the new marker, to combine the pros of both (visibility of the old, information of the new).

Make the HUD icons 20% cooler.

always complaining about balance… and then there is survivability in invasion.  no one will ever be happy.  If you’re a newbie, it won’t be balanced.  You need to gain skill.

But then you got multiple veterans who understand the game complaining about balance and you also got people who abuse the OP saying how OP something is. That’s different.

Even then there is no appropriate response to OP.

i will be playing this game less until open world modules are balanced. every other match of t5 pvp or sec con is full of A1MA and RT spam… not much fun. T3 is also full of RT spam. i can’t think of another arcade shooter or first person shooter that has an aimbot function… can’t believe it is still in the game, let alone even created in the first place. Snib had the right idea, f this

Snib and alex had the right idea, fck it  :006j:

*Right after Tournament*

seriously i feel reminded to my early days as dev.

“what should we do about that module?” - “just try make it cost more energy” (i seriously did not nerf my favourite items either)

“how about changing the colors a bit, and the hud and the buttons, it’s not like the designer thought about something as he chose his color-palette” (sometimes everybody has different taste, right?)

“introduce a system where older players help newer players and get rewarded, to keep the players in the game” (we seriously had that idea too)

needless to say, the project never came far. those who had the early visions, did not want to accept any advice, we only listened to the complaints of a certain group of people, and reiterated the same actually working things over and over, instead of focusing on small stuff.

  • first off: kudos in fixing the Mk5 bug with reapplying it to already possessed items. was good.

  • em scattering nerf is maybe ok.

  • i like the idea of a pirate station. but i was among the suggesters of such an idea anyway. nice job! i like it. too bad i can’t dock and check out the stuff they wanna sell me.

  • why the hud change? completely unnecessary, and not really better. if you want to change the hud, add more customizability options. that’s why you built that menu, right?

  • the new crafting system is now even more empty, and you removed the T3 target tracking coprocessor yet again… but it may be more clear for people.

  • building standard ammo actually was a good idea in the old system; i never used it, but cheap materials to save you some bucks - good idea, especially for those T3 bundle users.

  • tungsten is made from wolfram, and made sense. graphite plates, made of carbon, make no sense, except you meant graphene coating, in this scenario, graphite would be the source for it, certainly not tungsten. i like it if real life lore is respected in details, but i accept random inventions; just don’t mix it up.

  • moving all blueprints to super rare loot will not make people play invasion more;

  • using invasion to hide module blueprints for pvp might not be such a good idea; especially without a market, or other stuff that is important for a gamemode like that.

  • still missing better queue information. cant believe i get faster games on that robot-lego game, than SC; on the other hand, i can see exactly how many people wait in each tier…

please devs, take a week to look around your competition in the F2P market. you should fastly get an idea, what you could do better.

i don’t find this patch particullary unpleasant btw. it was an okay patch. some good stuff, some bad stuff, but not really important stuff.

this is maybe also better now, just before a tournament!

this is maybe also better now, just before a tournament!

That is because the tournament rules ban all invasion modes except the mk 5 weapons and crafted ammo (no doomsday missile  or drones though)

If that is not a sign of the current state of the game, then nothing is.

The fact they are banned from tourney means they should be removed from the game altogether.

That makes no sense! If they are banning the modules and missiles based on the reasoning that ‘not everyone has access to Invasion’ then I could see their point.

But to allow Mk5 weapons and ammo? That breaks the former reason and suggests they aren’t allowed simply because they aren’t balanced.
