I think the pulse is still meh, I tried all kind of stuff but plasma and rfb are just so much better imo and the worst of all is that it make using rockets a nightmare.

 

I would have whined about the plasma nerf but the supernova buff more than make up for it.

 

Shrapnel still have wayyyyy to much spread, it’s decent against big ships but can you even kill an inty with this ?

Good thing about pulses is that most people forget to tank thermal damage, and most people are overtanking EM thanks to the current meta of EM damage weapons.

 

I’m doing fine with pulses.

There was even a suggestion thread about adding deaths. Would be nice.

Titles are not enough, because they can be disabled from the display and have minimal impact on gameplay. A points deduction of 50 or 100 (50 is too minor, I think) serves as a disincentive and as a differentiator. There are some players who are excellent at running in solo in Combat Recon and eliminating the enemy captain, regardless of whether they die afterwards or in previous attempts; the deduction in this case is more than compensated by the large bonus for eliminating the captain–a surviving captain gets 750(?) points, and while I believe an elimination is less (comparable to a bomb plant?)–it should reward for success after a couple of tries after deducting the penalties.

 

But there are also players who run in solo at an enemy encampment multiple times (e.g. non-LRF bots), and they should receive a penalty. Similarly, trying to solo an enemy captain ~7 times and failing without anything to show for it should be reflected in the score. In another scenario, say 2 players on the same team both have 10 kills with equal damage output, but one of the players has 0 deaths and the other has 10 deaths. Their other achievements (depending on the game mode) are identical. It makes no sense that they should have equivalent scores upon the conclusion of the match.

 

Having a points penalty, which may in some cases result in a negative overall score, will better differentiate players in PvP and provide incentives for those who are lacking to improve their strategies. (Alternatively, it might turn them off from PvP.) Showing the deaths count will also provide further feedback to differentiate between players. A points deduction of 100/death will have minimal impact on decent players in most matches.

 

Apologies if this was all discussed in the previous thread mentioned, I admittedly did not search too long for where this should go.

It seems like what you are asking for is already implemented as “skill rating”, a player’s kill/death ratio weighted in Elo-style.

Thats great, but the real question would have been the “what does it do in my English client”? I guess i will have to post this into the bugs section?
