Wow. That… That’s the dumbest comment I’ve ever heard.
T3 is popular because it is the best compromise between player population and skill level. If you can’t find a T3 game, there isn’t a hope in Hell of getting a T4 or T5. “Tiering up” just makes you wait even longer.
Wow… so nice of you! You should be careful with words… Above all coz u don’t even look to know what you r talking about…T5 is pretty well populated atm. Matches are smaller (so not lot of farming for easy winning/farming addicted) but getting matches there is quite easy even in 2 men squad…I tried in last couple of days and never waited more than 5 mins…You should try b4 calling other forum users “dumb”!

Fan, dont forget that others are in a different timezone or can only play at times where population is key to getting games in a timely matter. The US eastern side, where I live, sees around 300-400 people online (Considering that’s the total amount of people, that number probably more accurately represents ~150-250 people in PVP). So, its even difficult to get into PVP matches in T4 and higher when everyone is in T3 and lower. And your wait times nearly double with a squad or a bug in the MM.
I don’t want to imagine what happens to people on the west side or SEA.

Apologyze for that… but u didn’t mention it in your post…So that’s not a problem of cueing system it’s a problem of low population.

BINGO!
And that is an entirely different monster to deal with. I came up with an idea to fix it but it may be the sweets talking and not logical thinker JP…
The problem is that with the recent patch it is now very hard to get a game in T3 especially as squad.
And when I read this right not even the devs seem to completely understand how MM works because they said 3 months ago they are working on MM and they still do and don’t reveal any of the mechanics:

Fan also seems to have missed the fact that we are not given T5 ships off the bat. How exactly does one “tier up” from T3 to T5 when your squadmates only have T4 at best?
The problem is entirely down to ignorance on the Dev’s part as to what the actual issues are. Too much is done to drive teams down tiers or out of the game entirely, whereas they need to accept that teams are better and move on. 10.3 was nearly right on how it handled teams and they fumbled it badly this patch.
More incentive is needed to push people upward. Personally, I’d put unrestricted matchmaking in T4 as a start - all squads are matched as solo pilots. That would speed up matchmaking, and hopefully once the rushers flee back to T2 and T3 the higher quality of pilots will create a stable environment for matchmaking.
If you give players an incentive to spread out more over all Tiers it’ll make it even worse. T4/5 may have shorter queue times and more players queuing but at the cost of the lower Tiers.
The only fix Devs can do right now is roll back the last changes on MM so that squads can at least play T3 normally. At this point fixing all MM unbalance will only lead to longer queue time (as the last patch showed us). There are no longer enough players to provide better balanced matches. And this is going to get worse as more players leave to do better things in summer. So it is important to keep teh few players playing by not having to wait long for matches.
In case folks are curious, MST times (UTC -7) in the evenings (7-10pm) see a population of about 250-300. At around midnight it starts to head back up to 450, while it can be as high as 450 at around 4pm as far as I gather. West coast US is really boned.
The US in general sees absolutely horrid population. I’m so used to seeing the SAME people over, and over that we all know each other.
I really think that the devs should have a Q and A about the MM and really do something about it OR wait until the open world release.
