Star Conflict OBT v.0.10.3 Discussion

vi-de-o

I would like to see you flying with such low projectile speed and “high” initial spread  :bomber:

Tomorrow if I find T5 game.

First time I use Plasma gun on my Covert Ops since the last patch.

And I’m not suppose to be a well known Interceptor Players.

Here is nerfed shotgun

P.S. this particular screenshot means nothing due to an average skill of my opponents, but same goes for your game Rakza, look at the ranks of your opponents, it is enough to look towards them for them to explode.

huh, i never put supernova in one of those. gotta tru it now

Super Novas on RF Blasters are hilariously fun against slow ships like Fighters and frigates. But against intys it requires practice

Record a video to prove it

I’m bad/average ceptor player… here is video:

It deals good damage but I still think RFB is the way to go on Cov Ops because of the amount of damage in short time.

With RFB you have great burst damage in the first 2 seconds before the weapon spreads up. Then you lose a lot of dps except against big frigates, and further than 1000 m, you can miss some shots even in styxes or Grizzlies.

With plasmas you can have almost the same damage with pinpoint accuracy, and at a safe range. It is like a positron in an interceptor.

The main problem is that covert ops critic build + native 75% damage bonus + orion + range, allows you to sit at 2500 / 3000 m and dish out 2000 damage hits to tanked gunships. Should you get a guard out of phase, it is hilarious.

In standard interceptors is not that bad, because you lack critic builds, and orions, so even if it is still a very good choice, is not op.

But in covert ops is just op.

And in a Nodachi A is just… try yourself XD

Perma Crit 5k TROLOLOLO.

I did it last night.

So the covop is going to be relevant in seccon now ? How outrageous!

The plasma Gun is not supposed to be a Mini-Singularity Cannon

Attaching a LRF positron cannon to a drunken mosquito?? hell yes, that is balance!!

I must admit that you need a bit of skill to reduce the spread and then hit the orion, so you don’t miss any high powered shot, but aside from that, is Win Win.

Oh come on its good but not that much, a gunship is going to be dealing a ton more dmg overall because an interceptor can’t just stand still and take it. I had fights against some good guards and I could barely shoot for the full duration of Orion.

If your aim is xxxx then yes, RFB could be problem. Even with that, the spread over time was buffed so I don’t get where is the problem, that weapon has no spread at all.

The damage is higher per shot, but if you consider rof then the dps is not that good.

I don’t see the point of playing an interceptor as a “sniper”. Pick a fighter or a frigate for that, I don’t get why you want safe range on a ship that relies on close combat maneuverability to survive. I find it boring but it’s looks good to farm DSR.

Against idiots with poor fitted gunships, you will deal stupid amounts of damage, but you will do the same with any weapon. If a Cov Ops with plasma is hitting you from safe distance and you run, you’re going to die, if you man up and face him, he will instantly die because of the position.

Just look Tillowaty’s video, if the enemies instead of running like chickens (specially that Minotaur) faced him, they could have killed him.

They died bcs I have skillz and they don’t  :bomber:

You haven’t played in a month. Go play some tier 4 games this week and then you tell me that again.

Plasma Gun - Far range, great for putting pressure on idiots for being out of position. Useful on a ECM

RF Blaster - Replaces the shrapnel cannon. Great for dogfights.

Weak argument is weak.

Go play some T5 Sec Con vs people with brains, and then come back and tell us how great that thing is, Plasma Gun with Supernovas will have almost 3000m/s projectile speed, you will be forced into close/close-mid dogfights, which completely defeat the purpose of the gun. At those ranges RFB is much-much better.

There is always a tool that is incredibly good at crushing newbies/brainless players, there always be, but you take it vs good opponents and suddenly it isn’t that great anymore.

Question is what is balance then? “Aces vs Aces” or “PROs vs PROs”? no matter what, one of these groups WILL suffer, you make something effective for n00bs to fight n00bs, suddenly that thing is game breaking in hands of a pro, you make something good for pros, then n00bs unable to use it, and cry for buffs.

Unfortunately we do not have clear balancing path, it feels that Devs are trying to cater to both and hower somewhere in a middle with balancing policy.

P.S. ShotGun is awesome, not on CovOps though, Recons and ECMs wreck faces with it (even in Sector Conquest) (hint you have to be able to disable Adaptives, and it is as good as anything else vs regualr tank)

P.P.S.

Man i would pay quite a few bucks to see Takamina`s face

Tell me about the new “meta” of Sharpnel. I really don’t want to use anything else >-<
