I will miss sharpnel… That was only weapon I liked on ceptors  :angry:

 

I can imagine T5 now… Ceptors with RFB; Fighters with Bubbles; Frigates with Positrons  :bomber:  Time to change to EM resist

You forget that two consecutive buffs have made pulse laser quite a good option for close range fights. Less spread, more range (so you don’t need to be that close)

 

Fighter with bubbles, it depends. Ions are still very viable, and assault rails are great for sustained damage at medium ranges (where bubbles fail) Gauss is the same than before.

 

And coil mortar is way better now with the buffs.In fact, the explosion radious is big, bigger than rockets and missiles, so it’s like a rocket launcher weapon.

 

If all, these new changes are oriented to give all weapons and ammo equal chances, and fit different nichés.

In small battles(T5) bubbles are just better. Where most fights are in close range not medium/long.

Like I said it was my favorite weapon for ceptors, now I’ll have to find something else or wait for sharpnel buff.

Pulse lasers are easy to use but do not have the resistance debuff that ions get and with nominal DPS already lower than RFB I don’t really see a reason to hit everyone’s favorite resist.

So RFB it is. I’ve already sometimes run supernova ammo in interceptor vs interceptor fights before and it was viable (with projectile speed implant ofc), now it’s just going to be lulzy.

What do you mean by “linearize the dps” exactly? Do you mean making it so prolonged damage is more viable than alpha strikes?

In StarConflict : You have 4 categories of “Dealing dammages Mechanics” and each category have its own sub-section.

We have :

  • Main Weapon
  • Missiles & Co
  • Actives Modules
  • Special Modules

 

All this categories have specificities that you can simply see in the Hangar,

You have to take in count all the special effect, for all situation:

_Main Weapon: 

  • Linear DPS (Beam Cannon, Pulse Laser, Coil mortar, Assault Railgun)
  • Progressive DPS (Plasma Gun, Ion Emitter, Heavy Blaster)
  • Burst DPS (Alpha Strike) (Singularity Cannon, Positron, Gauss)

_Missiles & Co: 

  • Insta Burst (EM torpedo / All the Standard Missiles (no special effect) / Anomaly generator)
  • Linear Burst (Octopus / Firestorm / Attack Drone)
  • Crowd control (Slowing field, Ion Warhead / Energy drain)

_Actives modules:

  • Linear DoT (Pulsar, Shield Drain (Raw Dammages), Sentry Drone)
  • Burst (Plasma Arc / Particule Purge)

_Special Modules:

  • Linear DoT (Plasma Web)
  • AoE Burst + AoE Dot (Guided Torpedo)
  • Linear DPS (Combat Drone)
  • Linear Burst (Desintegrator)

The weapons listed are the one I remind from the last time I made this analysis a long time ago.

You can also use this to understand why some “Dammages dealing tools” are buffed and others nerfed.

Projectile speed increased by 23%. What were the previous values ? Something like : Old values 10,000  New values 12,300 would’ve been way clearer.

 

 

Because let’s say mod gives 8% crit. You say “increase by 50%” and it is NOT 58%, but Old 8 > New 12.

Please change your patch notes format !

Looking at weapon changes I see try to balance some of the ammo. increasing/reducing some stat across all weapons of the same type, while doing the opposite for the ammo. Nice change IMO

I think you’ll be able to change for free when Open World comes out by flying from one to the other. That is what the achievements suggest at any rate.

I like the neons-stylee-lightning-crackle-animation-graphics on the flamberge but wish there had been a new ship hull design added to the fleet - one of the things that got me into the game was the distinct graphics / ship designs & can’t wait to see some developments in this regard - ie dreadnoughts - the last premium ships added seem a little lack-lustre compared to some of the original concept sketches - see below -

This, this is a BIG NO NO for ANY FTP game. You do realize that anyone that comes to this game for the first time will instantly see that, think that paying real money for another hangar will benefit them in some way, and then regret there actions when they realize they been duped, and lose faith in the game right then an there? 

 

The shrapnel cannon has been dubbed down for newer players. Why Am I not surprised. All you needed to do was to reduce the spread. That’s it. Not make it a fixed point to make it impossible to actually hit anything without shields. 

 

I guess it was another weapon balancing week. Sigh. 

Well the hangar change for GS was inevitable, I always said I didn’t understand why they made it free in the first place. It’s a customization option after all.

Camouflaging it as something with a gameplay impact is indeed a problem but there are quite a few things in this game intentionally made to provoke costly user mistakes. Sadly.

(although I guess new hangar switching does actually have a gameplay effect since you change sectors regarding open world content).

No need to reinstall. Right click -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache

Well i don’t have it,how frustrating when it got out for FREE.And yeah,a free preset makes your ship looks like a fence,a blue fence.

Client just crashed in the middle of a game.

On one hand I love the balance changes, because they nerf the guns the “pro” pilots use, which are annoying to play against. On the other hand though, every weapon gets faster projectiles and more range. This is bad. The weapons get more and more uniform. In the and everything that is not hitscan will be like gauss, almost hitscan.
