The necessity for skill in this game is quite lacking now compared to before elly ships came into the game but ofc skill is still a part of it and if you don’t think so then get into a match with me.

Let me try and put what he said in an easy to understand sentence. You cant put real skill into numbers especially lately with the way MM is. g4borg could kick my *** from here to next sunday but my stats could be higher than his.
While one can not precisely measure skill because skill itself is a collection of quite a few different abilities, still statistically numbers in profile reflect players capabilities.

As much as you know about this game you are pretty dense. Sometimes I forget to say something or misspell something or rewrite one of my posts so it makes more sense. I also may update one so I don’t have to keep spamming the thread ffs isn’t this obvious?

i don’t like this. yes, part of some bigger picture, okay. but if you do that right, you first develop that bigger picture, and then release it at once. atm it just looks broken, out of line, totally unhelpful, and it was ergonomically a lot better on the top close to the overall scores, even if not ideal. besides clashing with the chat area, it is rather distracting, that things blink down in the area, where you usually look for module status, but okay that might be subjective bias.
things like this can be developed in branches and then released at once, still.
On the other hand, hud/ui placement is a science of its own, also in the real world, so not saying, it’s not hard, but I don’t see how this is improvement yet.

not much changed to be honest, and reducing the base stats of tharga and taikin imho will not solve all issues, and not all builds are OP so these nerfs only hit the lesser choices. there are lots of tharga builds that seem or feel very fair to play. I have no idea about the taikin tho.
the taikin weapons / abilities need overall a lot more nerf. imho introducing these weapons is a total mistake anyway, as it would have been much better to see how the new ships can utilize already established weapons first, put them in later.
the mobility of the taikin in means of blinking needs a definite and widespread counter, or more inward balance, especially in combination with other recon abilities, like passive or active cloaks, phantoms, etc.
on top of this, imho you guys might need to make more “safeguards” in place for the new mechanics. as there are many different ways to approach this, i just link you an appropriate and highly recommended gamasutra article. But this is what I talk about, if I try to persuade you, to take more look on general multi-class and multi-role and multi-purpose modules, even if they are boring.

I think, the ecm served this role and the tackler later too, as did some general multipurpose mechanics and relations, even the EB is part of this. with ellydium, this changed into a nightmare of exceptions.

Also, imho taikins should not get automatically the recon buff of capturing beacons, it totally is in contrast to the idea you started with customizing ship base stats with those nodes. I am not even saying, you could not have two nodes so the taikin could indeed be better in capturing beacons, if it sacrifices _other_ possibilities.
I did mention in the past, I think - not to devalue aoe weapons but to actually make them more viable and liberated in balancing - aoe effects should not interrupt capture, only directed damage. Maybe even by only slowing it down, instead of cutting the chord - especially in defense. Imho challenging the beacon should be easier, but taking it harder.
Oh, and I really think, stuff like the proxy mortar needs to be available, no weapon or ship should be behind invisible walls.
Everybody is complaining that This(game) is p2w. My opinion is that machmaker is still broken af and there are op ships. I would fell much better if i heard a statement from any dev. Is this game p2w with purpose? But pls dont lie to me. I prefer to hear that: “if you want to win more you need to spend money or get your a** f****** out” then i will be ok and i will match up.
