Premium ship parts don’t really count to my point here but they have opportunity for improvement.
For premium ship parts I would suggest that the currencies be unified to let any parts work for any ships.

A linear collision mechanic would be good: damage is direct proportional to speed and mass : this would result in bigger danger to small fast ships than to large slow ships !!
It should basically also apply for ramming Plasma Arc interceptors!!

Some players have max rank ships (via DLC packs or via GS buys of prem ships) but only have standard ship up to ranks of t2.t3, maybe a rank 10 or 11 – phenomenon is well known and called “tier rush” .
That might be because prior to destroyers certain ships, like the engineer frigate Octopus or Mammoth, Berserker recon, Rockwell tackler) seemed to be best ships for open space mission (fast and durable hide/tarn) and grinding there for materials.
Now these players end up forced to do missions they’re not good enough for (like me, I am t3 material).
That’s miserable to feel under control of game designers/developers… if we got the trade market in SC, we also deserved a free market policy in regard to missions/assignments (at least partially).

You two realize that you are talking about collisions? That formula givse you amount of energy in the MASS. Something you will get if you decompose atoms of your ship into nuclear explosion! For collisions use momentum P=M*V or E(kinetic)=1/2*M*V^2… but rly its not that simple because ships are not equally rigid

And like I said, no need for something “realistic”.
We just want a linear formula.
So Y * S * Const where Y is a coeff depending on the ship role (with collision reduction) , S is the speed, and the constant something to make this value more “balanced”.

I’m not saying they are weak, just alot harder to fly them now. Guards slow aura everywhere, hitscan weapons or Op travel speed are much more common now. New buff to gravi beam will just add to everything that came out making them hard to fly effectively. That’s all i’m saying ”) Still getting fun battles though.
