Making the cabin:

“This is done in order to even the odds of getting new ships for all pilots.” Right, sure it was. If that was really true, it wouldn’t involve getting a whole slew of new materials in the cash shop, or through grindy daily tasks, it’d instead be something fairly readily available, or has already been available. “Destroy 20 enemy interceptors in PvP.” Wow, great, that’ll be fun (that was extreme sarcasm), since anyone signing up knows they’ll be a huge target if they fly an interceptor, guess what most people aren’t flying? Yet we need 20 kills/assists on them, in one day, through only PvP, to get 25% of the chips needed to get a random box that gives perhaps just a chance at getting a small number of the materials needed, and to get a weapon for the other long term task. If it accepted Co-Op, it wouldn’t be as bad (except the rounds where pretty much all the AI is using, and has in their hanger are destroyers, saw that today), but would still be a big pain, but nope, PvP or nothing. I’m not going to bother at all if every day is like that, I was already dead sick of PvP before the end of the last overly long destroyer “event.”

 

Also, one thing about the holidays is that many are away somewhere, or otherwise have their regular routine disrupted. Having these long daily tasks now, for something that’s suppose to be important, was just a really bad idea all around if you were legitimately after inclusiveness like you said.

 

 

Look at all the monocrystals we’re going to need!:

Look at all the stuff we’re required to make for the new faction, and all the monocrystals that will take, how they are obtained in the game hasn’t been improved, but oh look, they’re in the cash shop too. All that just puts me off on doing much of anything with the new faction.

Xenocrystals:

“Xenocrystals were previously known as ‘Living crystal containers’. Pilots traditionally do not like long names, and shortened the name to Xenocrystals.” Most just called them Living Crystals, so all you really did was drop two letters, and a space, plus changed it from two known words, to one made up one, not really seeing the advantage in that. As it stands, they’re still primarily a cash shop item, yet we’ll need loads of them, and I don’t think anything was said about increasing their availably in time. Guess this may mean the whole new faction may be restricted to the wallet warriors.

 

New premium ships, and upgrades to past ones:

First off, more timed exclusives, ugh, through random boxes, double ugh. Then you guys used to defend how premium ships provide no advantage over other ships, with these buffs, and the exclusive components many have, that’s no longer true.

 

Miss Frost, Open Space, not PvP:

If you look at Miss Frost in the assignments tab it has “Open Space” under her icon, as in she gives open space related tasks. Yet she is giving PvP ones, since you need to feed more meat into the grinder to get rounds going.

 

Extending the range destroyer parts drop in:
We still need to be flying max synergy ships to get them, right, in that case, so what? As I’ve said before, like me, many surely won’t want to be flying their max synergy ships, when they have others that need synergy, so such a change wouldn’t help them at all. Also one of the big problems is the bloat of items to get, that are all mixed together, that’s at least part of the reason why people always moan, and groan so much when you add yet another new something to farm, they just end up in the pool with all the others, making them all harder to get.

 

Quit spamming us with so many news posts:

Especially during the bloody long destroyer event this just got to be really bad, practically every day at times we were reminded to make the new destroyers, plus there was the fairly consistent weekly bonus postings, the sales notice ones, and all the others. It’s particularly bad on Steam where you’ll split what was one posting here, up into multiple ones there, drowning out the postings from other games, and will either way often give us multiple news postings a day. I’ve never seen a game hammer people with so many news posts.

 

We can get to other faction hangers very quickly now, that’s good:

Using the Leviathan gate in every faction hanger map, and the Leviathan map with gates to all the other faction hanger maps makes it easy to get to the other hangers, I like that, not that there’s much point in even bothering with open space any more. Although I expect that to be temporary, and will no longer be the case when the open space update finally comes. At that point, it would mean I don’t really like anything from this update.

If only we could still get monocrystals from open space, like the good monocrystals from open space, where a single mission dropped 3 at a time instead of 1. Its like they have no idea what they’re doing to the game in their attempts to milk their players for MORE MONEY

That’s the thing that’s pissing me off more, and more about this, and an increasing number of online games. They may give a good first impression, but before long you find you’ll need to live your life in game, or spend plenty of money. Used to be companies wouldn’t even think of putting usable items, or the materials to make them in the cash shop, or people would jump down their throats for putting in pay to win. Even having cash shop items like 100% vanity costumes one could trade for in-game currency to others, so they could get in-game items that way was disliked by many. Now it’s getting to be more commonplace to be able to buy pretty much everything in the cash shop, and get huge boosters to gains as well, which so many will defend tooth, and nail as supposedly not being pay to win to them. “Look, you can still technically get it in-game, so that makes it alright” they’ll say in defence, no matter how absurdly grindy it may be, making it feel like the cash shop is the only real option, and the intended option.

 

I feel it’s part of the reason so many people are treating online games as something to be played for about a few months, then drop it, and play something else. With so many new online games being launched, and old ones shut down, companies just don’t seem too concerned with the long-term effects of their decisions. They just focus on the short-term gains they can get from the new players, and long-term whales that feel they have invested too much to quit, and are still willing to spend more. Online games these days are feeling like bloated browser, and mobile games.

Don’t understand the hate going on, the update is alright. I expected a lot more to be ready at launch however, disappointing to see yet another month long grind for what was apparently another faction tree, which completely kills the point and makes them feel like Destroyer or Secret Project building process. Gotta say i’m very underwhelmed Devs, yes the new features look shiny and it’s obvious ya’ll put a lot of effort into making them graphically pleasing which i like, but it’s obvious the point of dropping yet another grind event like this for ships. Hope you guys make up for it in more ships coming very soon after the first, or else ya’ll are just running on fumes of content right now…also to the Monocrystal epidemic, they did add another station with is 1/3 bonus to original input of monos from dailies. Still monos have been very abundant lately, i don’t understand of all things you complain about that…

Forgot about the new premiums in the game, completely disgusting release method, requiring a purchase for a chance at getting what you need. Did not think you guys would stoop so obviously low, who knows what will come next…all these fuzzing and i was originally bummed out for not getting my rare skin i wanted from the elite boxes, curse you devs for touching on my like for shiny things…at least i get a cool new animated skin for my alien ships when they are finally let loose because i pick up almost every easy DLC…

I do NOT recommend spending GS on the Cyber Santa bundles. I spent 12k GS and got not a single Dart Activator. I do now have 9 hull and 8 cpu thingies, BUT NOT A SINGLE ACTIVATOR.

Needless to say, I am mildly pissed right now. -.-

I am certainly not going to spend more GS on that, as the chances to get it seem to be about 1:99999999999.

Well with 7.5k of gs I get everything ships parts plus unique modules and weapon for each but yea the dart activator is missing^^ but a lot of ppl get it so I guess it’s random. I’m fine with the gargoyle it worth it

Remember when we got event ships on day 1 and didn’t have to wait months to make it for free?

Nobody  cares about the fact that half of the schemes in the DLC are specific to one faction (4 for Jericho, one for ellydium)  ?

another pack of ships that you can only get for a limited time. Only through those random xxxx containers. Why not just put a premium label on them and sell them for GS? I would’ve considered buying, but I’m not waisting gs on containers with factor luck.

And don’t try to explain yourself with trade. Sure, what are you going to trade, if everybody has a surplus of the same thing? The activators are the rare things in the cases. Most people will be looking for those and won’t have others to trade for it.

Now to the limited time ships: why? Instead of creating some kind of urgency feeling in me, you just make me tuck my wallet further away. Have an event sure, then make the materials farmable, but stop with this limited time xxxxxxxx.

As is now, the new faction introduces itself and asks me how big my wallet is. That and yet another bag of new currencies/materials that we must farm for it. Where will we be in a couple of years by now? 10k different currencies? You should make the new faction obtainable in credits. Just the standard cockpit. Then let the Pilots grow the ships with Xenocrystals. Have them grindable in low numbers and in good numbers in containers. I’m sure, you would still get enough cash. The sense of progression and achievement would also be more present. Right now, I’m looking at the number of mats for just the cabin alone: nah, xxxx this. I don’t even want to try to get an alien ship.

The Gold Dragon scheme is just another case of tucking my wallet away. I want it, but not buying those luck containers for it and spending who knows how much. The new DLC is priced too high imho. Since some of the schemes are only available for certain ships.

With that out of the way, not much this patch leaves left over.

The new station is cool and thanks for the daily new Mono crystal quest. The event missions are ok, but I would make them doable in co-op as well. Furthermore, the number of xenochips in tournaments should be increased. Give five of them for just participating and more for every win. The number you get now is a joke and if you just don’t have the skills, you get nothing…

This patch is rather mediocre imho and I’ll have better things to do about the holidays than spending money or time here.

thx for the explanation, but I’m wondering how this will hold up for the dart and gargoyle. You can only obtain them by buying. This is a lackluster explanation from dev side. This is just russian mentality. Show what you have to others and the more bling bling you have the better.

I would guess this mentality isn’t very popular with us western folks and thus, I couldn’t give two pieces of xxxx about what an other player has. What is making me disappointed, is special ships with special abilities behind paywalls, the ships are then removed after a short time. Some of these abilities are also overpowered and really let a new player who comes to gripe with the situation, that he can’t achieve them, not even through paying, xxxx right off again and he’ll leave the game.

Can one summarize what I will lost if I don’t do any of these BS contracts?
I’m not going to waste several days of my life hunting inties for a s*** thing.

The hangar of the new station look awesome, the station itself is ugly as hell. Don’t know what **** of designer was it, but please say to him: S*** work!
2017 mission is not possible for me, so again missing content.
The start of the new year/holidays is becoming annoying.

Skiping one dayle mission is just skiping another 5 Xenochips in reward. Today’s mission is capture 2 beacons, pretty simple.

The 2017 mission is possible, you just need a weapon from the bundle, which you get with Xenochips, which you get from daily missions.

You dislike the gate - that is not the station. The station is on Leviathan Death Star, the gate is only a warp passage. :wink:

Interceptor kills; damage assist also counts. Just get lasers or fast projectile weapon, or use AoE. EM missiles on fighters, plasma web etc.
