Ookay; so actual feedback this time on what I have seen and tried today:
The first ‘Ellydium’ ship - Thar’ga
Although the ship itself is not available to pilots for more than a week the promise of the ship itself seems unique as it changes depending on what modifications the pilot makes allowing for diversity amongst players which to me seems like a very nice direction to head towards for Star Conflict. A slight downside however of what players can see of this ship so far is the immense pool of resources it will take to properly equip the ship, with vast amounts of monocrystals being required for a singular piece of equipment; making it immediately seem more of an end game target than that of the entrance of a faction overall.
‘Ellydium’ Theta Station
Although we cannot actually interact with almost anything of the station nor does it give benefits in the ways of voucher gain or any other form of loyalty or currency it is unique in just how detailed the model of Theta is as in comparison to the hangars of Mendes, New Eden and Guardian is not only much higher quality but enormous in comparison with the end not even in sight for players.
Time Limited ships sigh
Once more as it seems customary for Star Conflict now there are two new ships; Dart and Gargoyle which although the models and unique equipment they bring with them is nice; their acquisition is far from it. As of the current build of the game these ships are entirely premium with their unique components only being obtainable via a container meaning that there isn’t even a defined price tag on these ships.
Premium aside; the ships themselves seem ridiculously powerful in comparison to ships of the equivalent rank with not only having more passive modifiers available but also having seemedly unbalanced weapons, with the Gargoyle’s weapon allowing for friendly fire as well as AoE damage to enemies. It seems as if Beacon denial is even easier (let’s ignore the Vigilant for now) since the AoE can be applied to ally or enemy ships.
Overall the Time limited nature of these ships is completely unnecessary given how many standards it _ may require _ just to obtain the unique components let alone the standard components that some pilots may now be lacking given the end of the race for Vigilant
New Years weapons (?)
I’m not sure what’s going on with the new year weapons since you need them to _ start progressing on the 2017 quest but as of base 1.4 they cannot be purchased… _ which might be a bug … BUT STILL! The quest for destroying 2017 ships is handy since it rewards 50 xenochips (2.5 containers worth) and *might* allow for progress via PvE? I hope it does… because otherwise that’s a lot of PvP (still worth it tho).
LOTS OF BUFFS FOR DLC SHIPS
Given that I actually own some DLC ships I can give feedback (yay)! As of the moment the ships I’ve tried out seem to fare much better in combat than standard counterparts than before, especially the joker which now has quite the sizeable Critical chance in comparison to almost every other gunship in the game. Personal note aside; the touch up to older DLC ships will make them more appealing to people who have the money to buy them and allow for them to scale against the new Ellydium ships (I dunno if they’re OP or not, so don’t judge that comment).
The removal of Mysterious Containers
In no world would this change have been necessary. OS is now almost completely pointless without mysterious containers save for daily missions since the only appeal was the chance to get mk5 blueprints or rare components such as Neodium Plates. I can only pray this gets rolled back because this honestly seems like it makes OS useless beyond comprehension.
Daily Tournaments
There’s not much to be said; daily tournaments are always appreciated!
_ Summary: _ This update seems more like a placeholder of what is to come as although it does _introduce _the new ships, they won’t be available for quite some time to players. I just hope that enough xenochips will have been dispersed by the legitimate launch day that free players can begin growing and modifying their own Thar’Ga.
I still want my Tyrant >.<
