Star Conflict 1.3.12 Discussion

I just want to say three things.

Thank you for the new weapon models.

Thank you for a destroyer event that I can do in my R8.

and what’s the easiest way to get manufacturing components now?

I also dont really appreciate the gigantic nerf of the gauss cannon (and other weapons) you snuck in this patch. It is just stupid. Overheating 2 times as fast as before making it impossible to use without cooler. I actualy manage to do 2 shots before overheating, not enough to kill a ship…

sumary; bad patch, mayor nerfs hardly mentioned in the patch and another very rare recource (how many recources does this make? 6?)

I’ve just recently started using gauss because ions for some reason refuse to make damage and I don’t seem to be having an issue on killing people with gauss. I also don’t charge every time so that could also be a factor in my experience.

overall I am not very satisfied with the direction of things as of late but this has been ongoing for years and partially why I’ve always been hesitant to invest time and money here. I am not sure if this game next year is one I will regret investing into.

So I send my destroyers with the fleet thingie from gage just to see he give me 83% instead of 92% with correct ships.

That’s a rip off really!

What do you prefer ? 5000 vouchers, or 8 electrum ? 8 electrum is clearly much, MUCH better.

Smart a$$: They can easily implement a secondary fleet mission for that.

why?

Thought i would provide a total counter to the resources gained from this event with the newly released event plan, Will leave it here for others convenience

330 Electrum Ore in 28 days=27.5 plates
185 Beryllium Ore in 28 days=18.5 plates
180 Neodium Ore in 28 days=18 plates

and as an added note for those who have a rank 8 and rank 11 Destro, you will get this set amount of Electrum Ore from the 28 days the event takes up using the Gage Daily Mission, 224 Electrum Ore in 28 days from dailies…equal to 18.6 plates for exact amount i suppose…

So if you do all the event offers along with the daily ship missions, you will end up with 554 Ore, or 46 Electrum Plates out of the 60 you need total to build a rank 14, hope this helped…Overall i love the patch Devs, keep up the good work, but please change the Sing Cannon Model back…it’s such a eyesore of my Jag now…

I wonder if the thing to send destroyers out for 6 hours, to get electrum will stay.

Since it requires another destroyer for it, and r14 still need 360 berry + neo, it could be much better then what I originaly thought it would be.

I like the patch.

Realy ^^

I HATE the new icons for the destroyer module type currently being used, except the shield one, that seems fine, engine one is okish, sorta, but “<” is suppose to represent weapons, how? Then why don’t modules show how many targets are in range of them any more? The in combat module UI changes made things worse, not better as far as I’m concerned.

We’re encouraging pilots to play PvP to get destroyer among the first. This task should not be abn easy one, but PvE missions also may appear later. There were PvE missions in Alien research event, when blueprint was the reward, and will be more ![;)](<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/002.png “;)”)

How about open space? Some of us prefer that, and with the upgrade system change, open space just got worse. Only befit OS got was how you can’t get resources outside of OS as easily any more, which comes off as a bad way to promote something.

if we’re talking about sending ships to war mission, it should be working already

I’m still not seeing it, and I do have destroyers. I see the broker missions, the regular deployment one, but not a deployment one for destroyers.

Why yet another new component to farm? You guys say new players are getting confused due to all the different loyalty faction types, then don’t remove any of them, while saying this new module upgrade change was suppose to help alleviate that confusion over multiple loyalty types. Then at the same time just keep adding more things to farm, which would add to the confusion you’ve already said exists, your actions make no sense when put beside what you say at the same time. Wouldn’t it be better to scale back on the different farmed components, then just let us use the remaining basic resources to produce other things through new workshop crafts? Also wouldn’t it be better to have just one type of loyalty, and make the max pool size six million? Those are the kinds of things you could do to make things easier, and clearer, not the kinds of things you are doing now, which can have the opposite effect.

All those images of the new ugly weapon models (WHY?!? some of them look like plastic toys for little kids now) reminds me, ever since it was first changed to that system, I never liked that ultra zoom in thing when changing items on your ship. Sometimes it zooms in so close that I can’t even really tell where on the ship I’m looking. I always wished it instead stayed zoomed out, but just rotated the viewing angle to centre on that item, and highlighted the component in question in pulsing white, or something like that.

Did you guys change the Meson cannon, it is firing VERY slow. Like 250 rpm, I also noticed it on other destroyers, that had it equipped, also when will you rebuff the destroyer’s modules? 1500 health for a mk2 Pyro is literal bulls hart for the damage they deal on death., 55k dmg is it out of 84k for a base Archon, that’s over half your ship. Take it from someone who owns all r8, they need a major rebuff, take everything but their survivability away and I will be happy.

Also don’t you think 5 max electrum from a box is worth it? Considering you need 320… for 2 plates… and 3 from destroyer missions** and more** but really, not worth it.

Yeah I’ve noticed that a lot of weapons fire much slower now. It really messes with the feel of certain weapons. It just doesn’t feel right using them any more.

I hate this patch. All my upgrade kits have become garbage.

So far ive tested: Pulse laser, meson and sk rah. All of them got their firerate stabilized (its now a constant, not some degree of random: shooting a bit faster or slower than average) and i can tell at least from pulse laser and sk rah that their firerate is the same. For meson i have the feeling its going for like 400 RPM (with 500 in stats), but using 1 iridium heatsink (550 RPM) turned out to be working properly. At first i thought game server was slowing down…then i realised it was meson only xD

Note: i used my chronometer and counted the amount of shots per sec at max RoF…so its not a 100% trusty test.

They do show how many targets are in range, but in a different place now (in spanish client you will see: “2 t.” I.E)…i get confused but i think ill get used to it. Destroyer dmg icon confuses me a bit too. The mission to send destroyers is the “regular deployment one”. I get it people expects a new mission (i expected that), but its already sayed multiple times in multiple topics that its simply the old mission from A. Gage…the one you send 6 ships and wait for 10 hours in a R15 account. I have mixed feelings about the new models…but i gotta say that i really love the HB and mass driver models.

You can no longer use kits to upgrade weapons/mods? :S

Fixed this morning. There was a special little fix.

Seems to me you wasted a lot of time and money to change something that didnt need any change. The only reason i can see for this loyalty system change is to increase the grind and sell more gold standards.

Another new component? Was that necessary? Why do we still have credits? Wait I know, everyone has it so no one needs to spend gold standards on it. So you make it useless. Invent something totaly new, make some broker missions so you get like a quarter of the recources needed, put the rest in containers, and its money money.

Whatever direction you are heading it is not the right way.

Gauss is one of my primary weapons I like to use, Although I agree it does overheat much much faster now, I have noticed the overall DPS of it to be improved. It also means more aiming less spamming. Be patient with the weapon and it will shine.

I think the weapons gun  colours could match either the damage type or upgrade level. Even better if they could change models for upgrade but that might be too much unless they use the current variation for upgrades instead of rank

Gun size should also be adjusted a little. Especially on interceptors. New designs are okay but mismatched.

Electrum will go through the same story as neo and berry before, and will appear in OS loot as well, but later a little bit

The OS comment was in regards to event tasks, you keep doing just co-op, and/or PvP ones for destroyer components. Adding the resource (to an already crowded pool of resources) in OS won’t be event related, it’ll just be normal.

Sending ships to war mission is available from A. Gage

Nothing in the news posting suggests it’s the same one, and when you go through the usual routine of selecting them (just did it now), there’s no indication of any difference in options, or reward. The logical conclusion from all that would be that there’s another task, that we’re just not seeing. So what, they expect everyone to check the forums, for all the other posts complaining about the same issue to figure this out? If that many don’t get it, maybe they need to do a better job of explaining it, as even based on CinnamonFake’s response above, you’d never guess it was referring to the old one. This comes off as a lazily implemented event task they stuck in, the reward is nice though.

I checked, again, and I see it where it should be now (it was better at the bottom, than the top, more open space at the bottom of the icons). Although earlier when I looked, while I did see “# t.” text, it was above all the icons, and towards the centre where the ship function icon is, not in with the icons for the related module (checked then with a destroyer, and guard ship), so I couldn’t see what that text was referring to, just that it was there, and it looked like they removed that function.

They look like those multi-coloured children’s toy guns they make these days, so people can’t confuse them for real guns, I just can’t take the things seriously. Considering as how we can’t really be expected to see them while actively playing anyhow, I’d much rather they just use one model, rather than try to differentiate them based on upgrade level, or whatever the idea is.

No, you can’t, their only use now is to sell them, or salvage them, and the mark IV kits only give Iridium now, no materials. I asked about that in the dev blog thread, and was told then already they’d be made obsolete.
