Star Conflict 1.3.1 Discussion

Many games change their core elements after release, changes of craft system have been discussed for a long time (you can ask one famous user from forum), anyway i can understand your displeasure, but new system allows you to refit ships almost for free, besides now all ships have standart price, which is also more convenient.

Refit what ships? As you can see, I don’t have any crafted ships. I was about to finally craft that Octopus, which I’ve worked so hard for, but you screwed me over.

I was also going to buy some gold so I could transfer free synergy to my new Octopus. I guess you don’t want my money. Too bad for you.

At last someone noticed it.

As a player i can say that ecm’s are pain for me (maybe it’s just lack of my skill)

As a CM i can say that this decision is based on russian feedback. But i’ll discuss it with our balance-guru again.

Please remind them that morons who pop meta in the middle of the enemy deserve to die the instant it runs out. Metastable isn’t meant to let you take on the entire enemy team and win.

Seriously, I don’t see how else this decision could have been made.

Oh well, I’m just a casual PVP player anyway. I’m sure I’m not the target audience since you have already got my money and most recent changes have moved away

from any casual PVP with friends play.

This is pretty much how I feel as well.

If the game was priced properly I’d happily drop £5-10 a month on it. But the devs want people to spend £200 a month or more on it, so we can get fucked.

This.  All of it.

I’ve been very fond of this game ever since I first played it in 2013, so I worked hard for that Octopus for years. Yes I don’t have a lot of time to play games. I played 230 hours.

This is a huge slap in the face.

what do you think about everyday casual tournaments for players who want to play with friends?

Please just make it possible to craft a single ship of the role which we’ve specialised in. I just want one ship. One.

what do you think about everyday casual tournaments for players who want to play with friends?

I think they’re a waste of time, because casuals just want to play PvP and PvE with friends. Haven’t been able to do that in a long, long time.

i know what you think )

Drop chance of materials directly correlate with a difficulty of a location, for example it’s more chances to find it on r10 locations, but it’s still possible to do on r7. Scanner works well in this case.

What about neodium? There’s just been a lot of (possibly) misinformation when players say you can only find certain materials in the space of a specific empire.

Maybe that is true, I don’t know.

Players in the game need to know more than anything, most don’t look at this forum in depth.

Well after a bit more mining i have to say i give in. it is one of the most boring monotonous tasks ever in this game. At least plates drop from mysterious crates. I have an idea to making mining fun, i just need to put it on paper.

feel free to use suggestions section instead of paper

There are always speculations about such matters from players

But i agree we need more in-game information

kostyan’s patch review

Wow, pictured review!

(will you add pictures to our secret guide as well?)

it is a secret!

We are thinking about making tournaments available every day for every ranks range.

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

Why Destroyers should be cheaper?

There is no reason.

They need a certain invest from the player. We had events during the whole Christmas to prepare for the Destroyers release.

They have fixed price and once you crafted one , you can modify it as you want just for credits.

Players who really wanted Destroyers did the Christmas Quests and are now playing their Destroyers. And they didn’t used the Monocrystal Rewards for crafting Secret Project ships.

TLDR: Assuming players who want a Destroyer are either vets with plenty of resources to spare or have taken part in one specific event is not a good idea.

So what about players who weren’t around for the Christmas Event?

Or entirely new players who have a friend that tells them “Dude, Destroyers are so awesome, you should come play Star Conflict”

How long will it take them to actually be able to build a Destroyer with no Event that showers them in Monocrystals?

And farm out the other resources they need to build one?

Do you think they’ll stick around and increase the overall playerbase, once they see how much of a grind it is to get one?

Let’s take the Archon as an example (simply because that’s the one I’d like to build):

2x Destroyer Internal Structures

32 Neodium Plates / 64 Impure Neodium

16 Graphite Plates / 32 Impure Graphite

20 Metal Blanks / 40 Vanadium

32 Osmium Crystals

40 Monocrystals

2x Engine Package

24 Metal Blanks / 48 Vanadium

36 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards

18 Screened Batteries = 18 Graphite Plates / 36 Impure Graphite + 18 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards + 54 Osmium Crystals

10 Processing Blocks = 40 (Pure) Silicone + 20 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards

44 Monocrystals

2x Reactor Package

42 (Pure) Silicone

48 Graphite Plates / 96 Impure Graphite

48 Osmium Crystals

30 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards

40 Monocrystals

3x Deflector Package

54 (Pure) Silicone

72 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards

18 Processing Blocks = 72 (Pure) Silicone + 36 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards

15 Screened Batteries = 15 Graphite Plates / 30 Impure Graphite + 15 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards + 45 Osmium Crystals

60 Monocrystals

1x Exterior Structure

12 Metal Blanks / 24 Vanadium

18 Graphite Plates / 36 Impure Graphite

15 Osmium

6 Screened Batteries = 6 Graphite Plates / 12 Impure Graphite + 6 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards + 54 Osmium

18 Monocrystals

1x Computing System

30 (Pure) Silicone

30 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards

15 Osmium

3 Processing Blocks = 12 (Pure) Silicone + 6 Computing Chips / Crystal Shards

22 Monocrystals

Now to put it all together:

Metal Blanks = 56 / 112 Vanadium

Pure Silicone = 250

Computing Chips = 269

Graphite Plates = 121 / 242 Impure Graphite

Osmium = 263

Neodium Plates = 32 / 64 Impure Neodium

Monocrystals = 224

Of course, Metal and Silicone will probably be the least issue, as getting these is rather common from salvaging even the early upgrade kits a player doesn’t need, the Chips/Shards are reasonably easy to get too, either from salvage or OS.

Then there’s Neodium, Graphite and Osmium.

Neodium and Graphite can be farmed in Water Harvest, if you’ve got a ship that can dodge all the Aliens (Fed Tackler with Cruise seems to be the best option, not just here but for farming resources in OS in general), with the odd Osmium every now and then.

The sheer amount of Graphite means spending hours upon hours doing nothing but flying circles in that one sector of course…

Osmium can be acquired in Northstar now, but the droprate there isn’t all that great, I just spent about 45 minutes, dropping everything except for Osmium and got a whopping 8 when I called it quits. Good droprate for Shards though.

Last, but definitely not least are the Monocrystals, which take 38 Days to acquire, while doing all three daily missions every single day (actually, only one needs to be completed on day 38, but eh), which assumes a player has a ship for OS and it’s one you can actually complete the contracts with.

Even with a Rank 12 Command, I sometimes say “hell no” to some of the dailies, as I know they’ll be extremely hard if not impossible to complete.

More than a month of playing every day for Monos, with probably a few of those days spent on nothing but farming for Neodium, Graphite and Osmium…

If this price is what’s deemed acceptable for a Rank 8 Ship, I shudder to think what the Rank 11 and 14 ones will cost.

“But you can buy materials, so you don’t have to grind!”

Only if you like to gamble. I really don’t, so I won’t spend any money on containers that might give me something I need or something I’ve already got plenty of, personally I’d rather take the slow but sure way since that are my only two options.

I did take part in some of the Christmas events, so I’ve got plenty of Monos, but I still spent a few hours yesterday to acquire the remaining Neodium and now I still need 50 Graphite Plates and 140 Osmium.

I really wouldn’t want to be a new player who sees that shiny, desirable toy and then gets bored out of his mind trying to acquire it from scratch…

I didn’t notice heatsinks on all ships?

So, toadya update on farming: After an hour spent in invasion, I found one impure neodium. So if I take into account yesterday’s work, that means I need 7 * 3 = 21 hours to find the rest of the neodium I need for one ships (7 more impure). And you call this “good drop frequency” Doombot?

Or entirely new players who have a friend that tells them “Dude, Destroyers are so awesome, you should come play Star Conflict”

There are more than 200 ships in game and new guys want only Destroyer?

And you call this “good drop frequency” Doombot?

I saw how responsible game designer tweaked numbers with my own eyes.
