I’ve not been too much of a fan of PvE destroyers (and the last thing I want in PvP is for one of the bloody things to have ECM modules so they can just shut us down. Not with those bloody guns on there) after seeing what the T8s can do.
In maps where I rarely see efficiencies above 2500 - and that’s when we’re all going “holy crap dude, you’re GOOD”, destroyers are just waltzing in and breaking 4k with a finger up their nose, and the entire mission progression making it painfully clear that if the other three of us weren’t there, he wouldn’t even notice.
Feels like a rather large screw-you to fighters and frigates (at least in PvP interceptors seem to be making it under the shields and attacking their hulls directly, from what I understand?). Like we’re getting told “Grind for the more-huge capital ship instead of something else or you can just go … yourselves”

Of-course i am not very intelligent, i have to tune it down in order to communicate with peoples of your liking, other wise you wont get it, looks like i didn’t do good job on tuning it down this time, I apologize for that.
btw, the new ship tree is absolutely awful.

I still havent spend a single dolar in this game, i dont have license nor DLC bonuses, i havent bought a single destroyer bundle and i did all but 1 of the christmas missions: i ONLY needed 2 neodium plates to build my destroyer…i even managed to fully synergyse it and get all mk4 in the first day. All i did was saving the tremendous rewards given at christmas and giving a good use of my hard-work-awarded patriarch. If you didnt do the missions, you missed the easy comfortable destroyer parts farm. Even so, you can still get a decent amount of neodium with spatial scanner if you know how to look (my T4 spat scanner does amazingly well on T4 ships, nothing i envy to T5).

Thank you people! - I think the destroyers are an interesting addition to the game. They really increase the levels of epicness. Things might need a little tweaking here and there, but I know you will get there. I can’t wait to tear those big nasties to pieces! Muhaha
I for one really like the new ship tree and not having to go back to the hangar every time. It is especially useful for last minute ship layout changes before dreads.

Increase drop rate or place 1 piece of neo to the daily mono mission. Been flying around for hour, found nothing.
Neo is only found in valuable minerals and lost cargo.
Hello, well I’m very new to the SC-Forum even though I’m registered in SC itself over 2 years so it would be cool if you’d be gentle with me if I do something “unlikely-for-forums”. Also, my English might not be that perfect, feel free to correct me.
Well, I’d like to say as well what I think about this update since ST_Team on Steam might not be “anticipated-to-contact” if it belongs to update-discussions.
First, there’s a plus to the destroyer. It might be a big change and it takes its time to implement it properly in the game(play). I think it brings significant changes to the whole gameplay. They play key roles and that’s why it’s important to keep it balanced. I’ve heard the new MM only allows a destroyer if there’s another player with a destroyer. That’s a good idea… …but you should divide those 2 players also in 2 teams. I’ve had a match 2 days ago where one team had 2 destroyers and the other one none. I hope that’s a mistake and will be fixed for balancing’s sake.
Another (important?) thing is for captains match. I also was in a game where one player with a destroyer got Cpt, but the enemy team got a “normal” player selected as Cpt. I know at the end, winning or losing is a thing which has to be done by the players and it’s rather important HOW good you fly and not what you play, but I also think it would be positive for a fair balancing if both or none of the destroyers gets to be captain.
Also, will you soon make an EM weapon for destroyers? If not, some of the Synergy-benefits doesn’t make sense at all.
My second point goes to the ship tree.
Although it looks really nice and new, for functional reasons I liked the old one more. I prefer contrast and compactness for a better overview over aesthetic priorities. Could there soon be an option to modify the window layouts like you can (de-)activate certain updates or rather select between different designs? Otherwise, it’s not that important. Flexibility would be a nice thing and won’t harm anyone. 
My third, but personally most important point goes to the HeavyBlaster.
How can you harm such a nice weapon? Over years, it had a rather good balance between purpose, range, damage and accuracy. I’ve accepted low accuracy and range in exchange for good damage and its characteristic splatter (?) effect. In my opinion, it was one of the main attributes this weapon had. You’ve already changed this weapon not insignificantly by weakening the curved reflector. But regarding its still high damage, it might not be that unfair. But with the recent update, you took away its characteristic splatter effect and replaced it with single projectiles. With that change, this weapons is no longer a real HeavyBlaster. It’s rather an inaccurate, short-range thermal MassDriver. Yes, players who prefer the MD might like this, but they can select the MD. But for players like me, you took away a wonderful weapon. I see no longer any reason to invest in this weapon. And furthermore by weakening or this time rather destroying my guard fitting, you brought me this time, closer to quitting this game than you’ve ever done in the last two years. What’s your next plan, to add projectile velocity to the laser beam?
Regarding the fact, that I couldn’t find anything about the HB in the patch notes, I hope that was just a big mistake and I’ll get my beloved HB back in the next fix.
I’m sorry if I said or asked something that was already discussed in this thread, but I think in this case you are aware of the fact that at least one player more is concerned about one or several facts. ^^’
And also, since I’m lost in those forums (orientation in forums is one of my weak points) is there a thread where I can make myself available for English-German translator. If I decide to stay in the game I want to supplement missing translations and also correct some german translations which could be misleading because sometimes they say the opposite of the real effect of some modules.
I think that’s enough said for my first post and I think I didn’t upset anyone or at least not too much.

Balance in r7-9 (T3) is damaged imo. I can only imagine how it will be in t5 and how much time it will take for the whole team to kill t5 destro having in mind ratio between resistances and dps in t5. And this balance should be addressed fast (unlike lrfs in t5). And destroyers on small maps hm … Proposal: Only one destroyer per team in pvp or same number of players with destroyers on both sides or something else.
And two more things for devs to consider. Assault rails, beams (fighters) should be made better: more bullet speed, less spreading, more range. In this situation where we have phaser, phlux phaser, gauss and other long range frig weapns mentioned fighters main weapons are “outdated”. Second one - aiming assistance in turns should be made right.

Having given Destroyers some more thought, I have to say I’m not okay with an entirely new ship class being available only to farmers/donators.
And I’m not okay with the current PvP scenarios of ‘whichever team has more Destroyers, wins’. That’s dumb. Either balance the class or balance the matches - or better yet, do both. Now every single game mode feels a bit like CR, with everyone protecting their team’s Destroyers at all costs… That’s like special treatment to the select few. Not fun.
I would be okay with it if there were any standard Destroyers (not only craftable ones) and thus were naturally protected like Engineers by their teammates, but that’s not the case now, is it?
