Spy drones and cloacking revealers

I am not saying the class is OP, I am not saying the module effects are OP. Just the duration is too long.

With a 60 second duration there is still the possibility of being spy drones the whole match, but it makes it possible to get rid of the effect a lot faster.

 

And if you can’t cloak in a tackler, CO or recon…lol

And what if I were to look up? All I would see would be > die or this debuff will stick for a long time

 

And the mines, meh, they are powerful yes. But the spy drone problem has been there for a LONG time.

You ever tried to use mine? It realy req. skill mine has triggger radius of less than 200m so you realy must be on top of enemy to use it. And there is posibility that mine will blow up in your face if you dont move fast enough.

Actually I neglegted/underestimated the Mines for a long time. This Monday was actually the first time I used them and OMG they are soooo good. 

Go T3 use a Hawk-eye and plant them near tacklers or commands. In 4/5 cases Insta-boom. 

Its a bit trickier in T4+ due to the highend speeds. Still good enough to trigger them at most Frigates, which is by far more powerful then using missiles

The risk and difficulty it requires to use them efficiently is in par with the damage it deals. Or then there are lot of other weapons that require nerf first.

I think spy drone duration is way too long and very unfair toward tacklers. I think they would be more fair and useful if instead of crapping invisibility and regen they would instead prevent buff from being applied on the target. Including self buffs. That way it would be effective equally against every class. Of course the duration would be reduced to 15-20 sec.

Spy Drones are fine as is. I get Droned A LOT in every match I’m in. The ONLY thing I’m against is that cooldowns activate whenever you have Drones on you. So, if you use the Chameleon skill or the Active/Passive cloaks of other ships’ modules, they’ll trigger the cooldown, which is wrong and a huge bug. Why should I be penalized for not noticing the Spy Drone icon on top whenever I’m too focused on running the hell away from the enemy for survival?..

What does it matter if you can still trigger chameleon cooldown while droned, it will be ready again before the drones are gone.

It might not, that’s the problem. Several times, I triggered the cloak when there was, like, 10-20 seconds left on the timer… And it pisses me off.

Also, I think the mass de-cloacking device (what ever it’s name is) should be visible device. So that a person trying to fly away from the affected area would know where to fly.

 

The Micro-Locator? It is visible, but only in the same way as a mine (it flashes green). Perhaps you mean… destructible?

Btw, if i recall it correctly, Micro Locator coded to work differently from drones so how these “invis” modules work under these conditions i don’t remember at all, i rarely fly CO and Tacklers.

Thanks for the info. Maybe they should show up in the GUI better, especially when you use cloak ability, it would make loud sound and maybe flash an arrow towards the locator?

 

I do not think one should be able to destroy it. (But not bad idea either, would require shorter cool down for it then).

That’s not exactly accurate. Camo will indeed make you unlockable for an instant even if you got drones but this doesn’t work with chameleon or it’s unreliable.

So it might fail often enough to be considered a bug. Lovely.

IT doesnt make you unlockable, it drops your current locks and guided missiles will miss, enemy can start locking on you right away.

Bad choice of words on my part. This is exactly as you describe.

Just a small digression: when I last checked LRF and covops cloaks don’t break tackler LoS debuffs. I don’t think they can break parasitic remod or energy drain.

 

Quick question: do proton wall and R2 Jeri implant reduce the duration for spy drones?
