I wish there’s some sort of response as to whether or not any or a few, if not all, of people’s suggestions were considered. Unless Devs and management don’t wanna make us think we should be credited for the ideas. Therefore, management/devs can claim that they had thought of all the good changes and ideas first before somebody could have suggested them.
I don’t wanna sound an xxxx but people who suggested a good idea first should be recognized and rewarded because you’re getting, what are supposedly expensive ideas, for free.
The suggestions:
Corporation Menu tabs takes too long to load because it’s showing all the existing corporations. Why don’t you show like only the top 100 initially? The rest would be upon clicking a button to expand further list.
Why not have a single player PVE?
Like social media interfaces, The commendation (thumbs up) should have a log of all the players who commended you. Having the day & time stamps would be much appreciated.
I wish the booster modules can be suspended of it’s use. Like when I’m suddenly going for PVE, I wouldn’t usually need them.
Voice chat should have an option to ignore a user or to only be in conference with a few players especially with the squad he’s with. In this regard, squad voice chat should always be usable even in the hangar.
**By the way, I think this new voice chat is causing SC application to freeze. I lost a recon fight where in I was the commander. We were wining but then the captain role was transferred to a sniper when I got disconnected so he was easily killed. Therefore we lost, all because of this issue. Someone pushed to say something and boom. But sorry, I’m too tired to report it to you the standard way and never hearing back. I just hope you’d take a look at the voice chat feature for possible issues.

That’s trivial, few people care enough.

It wouldn’t promote teamwork and would be easily farmable.

You want me to “sell” my life to some company like a xxxx?

I agree, if I used them often enough. They’re good, but skill’s more important.

I’ve only heard one person so far. JPHack, and only a laugh. We’re only three days into the patch. Things need adapted, but they need exploited first. Make sense?

Don’t forget that voice was added about 4 days ago.
I’ve had it on the whole time without issue. Mostly just hearing people cough… I assume them hearing me swear…
A single play PVE would be going against the grain of this game. Space combat is all about your ability to work in a squad. You would be hurting your own learning curve to do this. When the sandbox version comes out, you’ll want some friends…
You aren’t wrong about the corps tab, but don’t forget it isn’t used too often.
Wooh! Easy, you guys. I’ve just mentioned “new voice chat” above, didn’t I? I never said or implied anything about expecting it to be perfect immediately. I’m in fact helping it to be better. Unfortunately like I’ve said, I’m tired of reporting a bug. I’m not 100% sure anyway if it was the cause of the freeze. It’s just to perhaps initiate them to double-check on the voice chat.
I just thought of the single player PVE based on my experience in long queue wait. You guys probably encounter it less frequently only. I’m from Asia so I would usually play during off peak times. At a certain day when I’m about to call the lights out after a long day of work, I would like to quickly get the daily x2 bonus and fulfill some contracts. I’m not asking for a big time PVE but just enough to get the bonus & some contracts especially when there’s too few players around to get a quick match. Now if this would hurt a player’s own learning curve, I think that’s the pilot’s discretion of his own demise, right? Anyway, the usual PVE hurts all of our learning curve anyway in terms of aiming skills. You know how GREAT AI ships maneuvers to dodge bullets. Besides, how many players care about the PVE teamplay? At the end of the day, it’s still a competition of scores.
But who knows, maybe they’ll think of something like an arcade mode or a story mode that can be saved and continued at anytime. It could be fun. LOL
It’s very frustrating when N_O_O_B_S enter higher tier games. There should be minimum requirement for each tier. The higher the tier, the greater the minimum requirement. For example, getting to tier 2, a test of knowledge must be assessed for a player upon first entry. Knowledge on different game modes objectives, ship roles and stuffs. T3 could be like advance knowledge including all modules, how they work and basic team play. T4 could be advance team play knowledge, and complex knowledge like if a module would or wouldn’t work on something. And t5 would be like a mastery requiring high skills rating and probably this is where the medals can come in to play. Like a player needs to get a number of medal for capturing beacon or getting bombs or other team play and objective specific actions.
Those are just heads up examples. It’s up to you devs to refine them. Just make sure only qualified pilots can enter a specific high tier. This would lessen raging players and eventually reports. Think about it.
What about players who genuinely prefer PvE? They do exist.
I’m mainly playing devils advocate. In principle I agree with you, but I understand that any requirements can mean failures to encourage advancement.
For a moment I thought you were right about the advancement encouraging. But then, I realized so what if they don’t advance? It’s their choice if they don’t like to improve. But, I don’t think too many people would want to be stagnant. If there are, the current “no requirements” version doesn’t discourage it anyway. Neither does it encourage them to advance, and there’s not much we can do about those people either way.
Thus, bottom line is I’m sorry but your argument is a little invalid. If we’re only worried about encouraging, there are things we can just add to encourage them to advance despite of the requirements. Like fame/popularity from ladder ranking or by getting a higher tier badge or something with certain benefits that gets better as the tier gets higher. Not to mention the benefits from the current version–e.i more implants & bigger post match rewards, & better ships…
Alright then, the new requirement for entering T5 is to have at least 1 Grim Reaper Medal.
I don’t qualify…
Jokes aside, I really doubt that you can have some kind of requirement that wouldn’t make the game more “grindy” and at the same time would effectively filter players out of a tier they aren’t ready for.
e.g: It would be easy to cheat on a knowledge test while SR and medals requirement are basically more grind.

Isn’t it already grindy? I don’t expect it to be even more in lieu of this suggestion. Mine are just heads up examples and it’s up to the devs how they would decide on the requirements. Though it may not be limited to grinding, as there are a lot of possibilities to require.
Moreover, requirement may not necessarily be requirements or knowledge tests may not necessarily be tests. Again it’s up to the devs as they know best about the game and what are the principle rules to base changes upon.
Like the test can be just more of an assessment on how well a pilot knows so far and for whatever he don’t, will be covered on a course training to prep him for the next tier. It may also have a briefing on what he can expect or what is expected of him playing on that next tier.
Otherwise, a simple solution to all this is…
REMOVE THE WIN/LOSS RECORD & RATIO. It’s not really reliable anyway (I can prove why unreliable upon request). I believe it’s not even important as it doesn’t accurately portray if a specific pilot could/would be efficient as a team member to fulfill objectives and win. Maybe just the number of battles played for all types. But never display the win/loss anymore. Trust me, I strongly believe this is one of the major root cause of rage when pilots get their win/loss pulled down because of n.o.o.b.s.
