Skill rating

In the past I’d tried metastable to avoid giving a kill to the enemy.  If you activate it when you need it, they generally still get a kill for their team.  I’ve been complaining for a long time that it’s not that great of a special module.  It best to use it offensively, but then you can turn into a huge target.  When I see an ECM in metastable mode, I time my kill shots.  It’s kill stealing in a way, but the module’s just so broken.  If you want to farm DSR, use Empire LRF or a recon.  ECM’s poor for it.

R.I.P. Spirit.

Cocoon is good ability, it has its uses

Spirit is just fine actually

Spirit is indeed good but way worse compared to Kris AE, Spirit has not energy slot so you can’t place emergency barrier or any kind of energy regen, and Spirit has no hull slot so you can’t place passive armor for some energy regen…

Spirit is more of Defencive/Escort ECM while Kris is more offencive, and for Escort role Spirit does just fine with slot layout it has

What makes him more defensive? I think 1 more shield is not that much… Kris AE has 1 more hull 1 capacitor and 1 less CPU (not a big deal).

I know Spirit does ok, but it has horrible energy regen, something very important for ECM ships imo

Kris AE is both offensive and defensive at the same time, and Kris AE can “scort” too. Sharpnel cannon on that ship is awesome, I still can’t understand why ppl use lasers on that ship, jeez.

Anyway do you have the Spirit? I would like to know - if you do - how do you build it!

I never said it is better than Kris AE :), Spirit is defencive because of its negative Energy, you can’t go all out on it and be far from your group, so staying with the pack (hopefully Engy with battery around) and Guards slow fields/dmg signature maskings. On top of that Spirit has 2 engines and 3 shields so with extra engine mods you can be better at dodging and 3 shields are scaling with that extra dodge and Signature masking from Guards pretty well.

P.S. I do have Spirit,i dont have Kris Ae though

I understand your point a little bit better now. Kris AE has also 2 engines btw.

I was asking for your Spirit build not for Kris AE, I’m fine with my Kris AE build :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll get you screens when i get home, but if you have Kris AE, there is next to no reason to pick Spirit, if you directly compare both - Kris wins, but if you don’t, Spirit does just fine(and not gonna be any worse) as defencive or captain in combat recon

You made me to be curious about that ship, and the screenshots i’ve seen from you about your ships showed that we have similar tastes on playstyle so I just wanted to see that ship

Oh NOOOO …   you all have done hijacked this conversation and deviated from discussion of Skill to your favorite ECM(s)

Welcome

DSR indicates effort to make it rise.

If you are like me, who flys well, my ultimate challenge is to make it GO as LOW as possible…but at 1335 DSR…I cant!

Imo DSR (now Skill rating) should just be hidden and used for matchmaking if anything…

Love it, we have similar playstyles, not that fast ships but yet deadly and tanky.

Yeah, that skill rating is fancy and right, but which are the scales? I’m just looking at a random number, but I don’t have any idea if that number is bad, good, or (most likely) average.

Any scale I can compare my skill rating with? It is 1225 currently.

Bear in mind if you haven’t logged in a few days, you wont show up.

How often do they refresh these pages? I played yesterday and i cant find myself on list. By rating i should be somewhere on page 2, but that page wont display.

Comparing skill ratings doesnt mean much. Im not better because I have 50 “Skill” more or less.

Yet I figured that there are only 3 states in skillrating which might (!) give an indication about the player:

DSR >1400 Good

1400 > DSR > 1150 normal

DSR < 1150 bad (or very new -in many cases its the same-).

Well, at least in my experience.

Also there are some Guys with 1700+ which are just plain bad. But running and not dieing while looking out for easy kills produces a wrong rating which does not correlate with their “real” skill.

Conclusion: “Skill-Rating” is biased and only gives a not very precise indication of the “real-player-skill”.
