Singularity is too overpowered, At least with gunships in t5.

What I don’t understand is how it is so deadly against hull. It’s a freaking EM weapon, and yet it wipes out unshielded targets as if it were a biomorph cannon.

Not even the Gauss cannon can two-shot an interceptor consistently the way the Singularity can.

It is bad against hull. But it has a big alpha so it seems you are getting hit by a truck.

Gauss is for hitting ceptors from 4000 meters. Bubbles cannot hit a ceptor further than 500 m. They are different.

Did, uh, no one else notice the four-month necro?

But anyways, the singularity cannon has a really low rate of fire, relatively fast heat-up, and slow projectiles. Practically the only uses for it are dogfighting and alpha strike, and a bit of getting that darn interceptor out from behind that beacon. Add to that the crit damage nerf and the overdrive duration nerf, and it’s a lot less useful than before.

It’s not a relatively fast heat-up, it’s a pretty fast heat-up unless you’re using that Invasion ammo. Outside of Gunships on Overdrive the weapon is a xxxx (if you compare it to the other options).

well firstly, not many people run em resists on the hull, and even if they ran a galvanized or something it will still do 1739 or 3130 damage at optimal range. 2-3 shots to fill the hull hp of an interceptor depending on luck and whether or not aiming overcharge is active.

on the other hand the balls are slow and rather short ranged. the whole time a gunship with bubbles is moving up on a target he’s vulnerable unless you’ve gotten yourself in a situation where he can use cover to get close enough to charge you. The only way I can think of to “balance” the weapon further is to add a damage epicenter to the projectile where there is damage falloff, but this could be just the thing that makes it absolutely useless in certain situations, when it already has such situations.

Singularity, Assault railguns, Ion Emitter…

They are on the same level and the same DPS (well, not far at least).

Singularity is close range, dangerous for your opponent but dangerous for you too.

Assault railguns is mid range. Really powerful at mid range, it’s still not bad in close and long range too.

Ion Emitter is long range. Perfect to kill those frigates sitting far away. But killing interceptors in -2000m with it can be a pain.

Only gauss is under the 3 above, even if it is a good weapon.

Ion Emitter is long range.

Usable on Long Range, better on close range, it’s pure Dps with Curved Reflector. Some Horizon(s) to compensate it, and magic…

You’ve a damn powerful mid/long range weapon with insane dps on close range.

So long as you don’t even glance at those interceptors coming your way.

Just equip an A1MA

A1MA have low barrel now. Don’t work.

Powerful, but can’t hit an interceptor. And in close range, what do you find ? OmegaCeptors.

Far more dangerous than with singularity where you can hit everything.

With Overdrive + Aiming Overcharge you just need to be able to hold your Ion Emitter one second on this Interceptor and it’s done.

Of course singularity is better to hit intys. But in general the Ion Emitter is way more useful because you don’t need a distance of 500m for accuracy. I fly very often OmegaCeptor last time. Ions are not dangerous For me, that’s right.

You want to kill Intys? Tackler + Gauss, here you go!

Of course, on a Wolf-M i would defintely use Singularity!

You want to kill Intys? Tackler + Slow Beam, here you go!

Corrected. Don’t use gauss if you have slow beam.

In fact, just don’t use gauss when you can choose something else.

You can only attack interceptors and from far with it. Other choice might be not that great against interceptors (And still, singularity against inties is perfect). But at least if something else attack you, you have a chance.

curved reflector for gunship is too disappointing. I’d rather have crit for how I play.
