This is a quality of life suggestion for new players, since they seem to get a bit confused as to the difference between “rank” and “tier”. It would also be useful for if/when PvP stops letting people bring lower-tier ships into games. *hint hint.*
Basically, the ship tree would have clear dividers between the tiers, and a header labelling each tier.

Each tier consists of 3 ranks.
Tier I consist of rank 1,2,3
Tier II consist of rank 4,5,6
Tier III consist of rank 7,8,9
Tier IV consist of rank 10,11,12
Tier V consist of rank 13,14,15
Secret Projects are categorized as rank 15 - T5 ships, but custom made or modified.
I agree with JasanQuinn, this change or addition must be added, to ensure less confusion among newcomers.

Yeah. It’s not nearly visible enough. Barely any new players understand the tier system, this is why you see so many tier rushers and players with one t4 and three t2s in a game.
