This would create way more tactics and if you know the optimal distance you could deal better damage. Would be very helpful.

Remake on suggestion. If you have distance shown the distance will change from grey at max to red at optimal.
Remember some years ago there was optimal range in weapon tool tip.

Definitely want this.
Could make it light red (or pink) for range within optimal, orange for range within max, and dark red for over max range.
Or just memorize your weapon range

Optimal range is 70% of max range IIRC. But yeah, it would be good just seeing it, instead of doing the math.

Thanks for that, but then things like the Horizon mod increase each by different percentages, so it becomes more difficult to work out - a simple tooltip would be much easier.

If I recall correctly, the optimal range is 75% of your max range.
Thus if your max range is 4500 meters. Your optimal range is 3,375 Meters. (4500 - 75% = 3,375)
I Remember that this was mentioned in a patch or a dev report a while ago. Someone verify this if they can.
If I remember right, it depends on the weapon type. Even then, we’re just guesing when the devs know the hardcore answer.
