ship respawn

hi,

i would like to ask - and maybe suggest new solution - how the ship respawn works? i always experience different wait time in “respawn” zone, and I see it is a kinda problem, because most of the pilots are respawned alone. and if you fight skilled players, there is no chance for you to team up with your team mates.

I suggest it should work on regular 30sec respawn time. So every 30 sec all ships that are waiting should be spawned together, like when the battle starts. so you will have a chance to fight in a group and balance the scales.

/edit - and if there will be no change, is there at least a possibility to show you how long it will take to respawn your team pilots? I mean - if I’m dead, and respawn in 10sec, i can wait another 3 secs after respawn for my teammates that are after me, instead of let them chase me if I hit AB…

I wonder…this might be affected by the game’s time-out.  I have only had it once but if both sides take too long to score the max points, u get a draw, so waiting might influence game outcomes fairly significantly.  Also…if u are able to “wait for your team mates to respawn”, it would kill any advantage the other team has built up.

Wait outside the main battle area for more of ur team mates to respawn?  Communicate and agree on a holding area for pilots that get killed to wait for other pilots to join before heading back into the fray?  This would at least give the other team the advantage they had worked so hard to get due to the fact that they can then still attack u but have to venture all the way across the map to do so.

i’d also like to see a detailed review of how the spawning system works for every game mode

i end up respawning either 5 seconds after that or the worst case a few days ago… after damn 90 seconds!.. (beacon hunt)

The respawn system is based on how many times you have died in battle. The first respawn is faster than the second which is faster than the third and so on.

The reason why you are spawning late in beacon hunt is because of the mechanism built into the game mode to give the losing team a chance to gain the upper hand. Players on the team who are currently holding a beacon will not be able to spawn until they lose control of the beacon (the activation of a new beacon counts).

As for a coordinated respawn time for teams, it is actually a strategy to splinter a team by staggering the opponents’ respawns. You can mitigate the effects of this by waiting for the rest of your team near the spawn point. Of course, that is a discipline individuals must learn on their own. I do like the idea of being able to see how long it will take for teammates to spawn. Giving numbers would allow players to make decisions such as whether it is worth waiting for one massive push or if the situation demands immediate action.

Also, if you notice your time is high, you can get some kills and stay alive longer, and it will go back down.

well those are definitely helpful

anyway i gotta add, i remeber that counter because:

  1. we were the losing team (in points, heavily)

  2. it was no more than my 2nd death

that’s why i’m asking, something can’t be right there…

If you are still referring to Beacon Hunt, the mechanism that prevents respawn does not take into consideration the overall points held by both teams. You may actually use this as a strategy. For example, you can allow the enemy team to cap a beacon with the intention to kill all their ships, thus preventing them from respawning and setting up at the next beacon.
