I like the sticker mechanic. You know it would be cool if we could have corporation emblems on tail fins. Maybe charge an extra 50 gold or something for it. Also it would be cool to have the option of having custom ship paint jobs and a super premium option to add custom stickers to your ships. I may be new and I know that this would add more work because it would have to be moderated but still. More easy money! :fed_lol:

Yes. This is brilliant, I want my ships painted dark blue and black, and have NLR stickers all over them. YES.
+1 Yes. A game will make the most money by adding pretty stuff that makes every player feel they are an individual and stand out on the battlefield.
+1 to stickers idea, the skin textures for ships less so, explained below
There was several problems with past games where you could do such content- For example there is a video came galled Cosmic Break where you could individually skin and paint each part of your mech- the game also had female android / power armor type girls and people would reskin them to be ‘naked’ and you’d see such bots running around in matches. The same goes true with stickers and ship retextures, some stickers may be extremely offensive. I can imagine seeing a giant cawk and balls being dominantly painted on the top / under side of a Jericho Frig as I try to keep from laughing as I pew pew.
ALSO you run the problem that if you want to show the skin off to other people the server has to take your skin texture, upload it to the server, and then distribute it to other users which can have a impact on the server load / network ruining every ones gaming experience. I’m a fan of doing allowing local client side texture replacers as a compromise so it only affects your computer, and you can share it on forums / other ways.
Also to deter corp logos or stickers that may be offensive every time it is updated there has to be a GM to approve it, something that may cost much more money than is available currently for the game.
Oi but devil_kit, it would not be about retexturing at all. It would be taking the standard texture of a ship and using different colours for it. Much like in racing games, you don’t see trouble about it there. You could for example take a Warden ship, and paint their logo a different colour instead of red, and paint the rest of the white hull something else too.

Ah so a simple color picker for the texture then? I see. That works. Still though I choked myself laughing the other day as I was gunning a Fed Frigate- imagined it emblazoned in a texture that made it look like a phallic like object. Honestly though its still too early in the development of the game to think about such things right now.
I still want them to balance, fix, and properly implement new gameplay modes before developing things like this. People need to remember the game is ‘offically’ in beta phase.

+1 Stickers. Don’t care if they have to always be in that spot on the ship. More stickers is all I ask 
+1 Ship paint jobs, -1 Custom ship paint jobs. Mainly, I just want a paint job that makes my ship look like it’s wrapped in bacon. Because seriously, look at the world chat. Who wouldn’t drop 150 gold on that?.
probably some documentation over TrackMania (any of the 2, United or Nations) will solve part of the bandwidth / lag issues? will also give out some ideas to how to implement the feature
