We have lotsof ship modifiers that affect how our guns work, plus all the different ammo types. But we only have one modifier that affects missiles (improved pylons).
How about some more missile-affecting mods?
Some suggestions:
Engine slot:
Launch Boosters
Increased missile speed
Enhanced stearing system
Increased missile turning rate
Reactor slot:
Large Warhead
Increase explosion radius
Shaped Charge warhead
Inflicts extra damage on a target that takes a direct hit from the missile.
Massive warhead
Increased explosion radius (more than Large Warhead) and damage, but reduces missile speed and turn rate
Shield slot:
Missile hardening
Gives the missile a % chance to ignore Missile Shield
Hull slot:
Modified Pylons
Improves missile reloading rate (more than Improved Pylons), but makes the cassette reloading slower
Computer slot :
Improved tracking
% chance to ignores IR flares
Scrambler payload
Enemy hit by missile cannot lock target for 1s (+0.5s per upgrade level).

I’d love something like “Ammunition retrieving module” for the hull slot. With two possibilities for stats.
Either: If you get a kill or damage assist, missile and missile cassette reloading time is decreased by 10%
Or: If a ship dies in a 500/1000m radius of the ship, missile and missile cassette reloading time is decreased by 10%
possibly with reducing hull damage resistance to all types of damage by ~15 points for balance.

Interesting.
But useless.
One slot is not worth some extra stats on missiles when you can boost guns and tank by A LOT.

Wouldn’t that depend on how big a boost it gave?
Given that missiles typicaly do two to ten times gun damage, a sufficient boost to missile effectiveness could make for a very nice alpha-strike, enough to make it worthi it for hit in survivability or long-term damage.

very good, bravo. Though warhead is considered as a missile as well, and drones too. Maybe something like different stats for those too? In that case, massive warhead would be op for nuclear warheads with no downsides.

explosion radius/rotation/speed and stuff don’t increase damages in any way.
It does if it lets you hit people that you might otherwise miss.
And bigger blast radius means you might hit more people (or more destroyer modules) in one hit.
